I had the pain pump refilled yesterday (11/13/19). Informed the Doc that the machine IS NOT working and that I've had issues with my PTM (for which the company rep was present and did what she could, I suppose). Anyway, I hurt, I hurt, I hurt. I've done nothing less than spiral downward since starting out on Dr. Nairizi's case load until he departed and started his own practice. I had a CT-MYELOGRAM at Renown on 11/12/19 because I cannot have an MRI (do not get a DRG implanted from anyone because unless you get it out, NONE are compatible with an MRI). I informed the good doctor (again) that the pump does NOTHING for the back pain(s). While in the recovery room at Renown, I was given the option of 5 or 10 mg. of OXYCODONE for pain. I am thankful that other pains that I had were tamped down, but, the 10 mg. of OXY did zilch point shit for my back pain. I informed the doctor of this. I have requested that since the pain pump no longer seems to be working for the back pain issue (and the DRG device has been turned off due to ineffectiveness) I do not need them in my body and requested them be removed. I did get a call from from the office today wanting to set up an appointment to "find out why" this device(s) don't work. I declined the appointment. I know I will have to go back in that office and receive more needles and pain on top of the pain that I already experience. I've been experiencing pain for 22 years now. Not as much as some, but, certainly more than others. All I want now is to be referred to some other doctor OUTSIDE of Northern Nevada. Basically for a second (2nd) opinion. For anyone that is receiving what they consider to be good care from this practice, please continue to do so. Anyone else? Roll the dice, as it were. Anyway, I still suffer. Kind of begs the question from me of WHY? Near the 3:00 pm hour on this date (11/14/19), I received a phone call from the practice (his medical assistant) offering assistance with obtaining the necessary arrangements for the referral. It was suggested to me that I visit with Dr. Nairizi (since it was he that implanted the items, i.e. DRG and Pain Pump) and I informed the MA that I had already called and spoke with his new office and that they informed me that their requirement was a REFERRAL. The MA seemed (at least to me anyway) to not believe that I took initiative to find out information. Again, this indicates to me that their belief is that "I am just a patient" and don't know anything. I wrote the first half of this review before their phone call and after I filed another complaint with the BBB. Seems AWFUL CO-INCIDENTAL that I file another complaint and get an offer for help shortly thereafter. AWFUL CO-INCIDENTAL. Anyway, I am appreciative of the offer of assistance and I received another phone call in the 4:00 pm hour with an update and a directive to call my desired place of referral to ensure that one was, indeed, received from NAPS. AWFUL CO-INCIDENTAL. So folks, if you have a complaint, www.bbb.org is one way to go. Also, contact you health insurance quality care office (MediCare has one). If you find the practice satisfactory and beneficial to ya, then stay with them. I have continually spiraled downward and the good doctor wants to do a "dye" contrast injection to see what MAY BE THE MALFUNCTION and why this pump seems to no longer be working for me. I declined more pain on top of the pain that already exists. Doing the same thing over and over is a classical definition of INSANITY. NAPS will either drop me for "non-compliance" or refer me. Either way, I will be free of that particular office. Will just have to think of something else. Also, I do not mean to imply that DR. NAIRIZI did not benefit me. He did. But, after being on his caseload for over 2 years, (which I believe is enough time to feel some relief but hadn't), I was and did request (in writing) a referral because after 2 years, I have not become any better from a PAIN perspective. Dr Denis G Patterson and the troll- 3 Jul 2014 I took my wife to this quack's office after 2 years & 10 surgeries to assist with her pain management for two knee replacements, hip surgery, and residual effects of bone density loss due to 2 incidents of chemotherapy for cancer. (1st incident 11 months, 2nd incident 8 months) 1st, Denis questions Dr. Michael Ries, (UCSF's teaching Orthopedic Surgeon), ability to diagnosis my wife's condition and suggest medications. Let's see....Dr Ries is one of leading Orthopedic surgeons in the country and has been at one of the top 10 ranked Med Center's producing papers, conducting surgeries, and teaching for 28 years. Bozo has been in practice for 7 years, at a CLINIC, Nevada Advanced Pain Specialists. Reno NV. Oh boy am I impressed with this punk boy! 2nd, my wife told the twit PA that works for dumdass Denis that the doses of pain medicine the back alley clinic had prescribed for her was not alleviating the pain. Further, because a girlfriend of hers had died from the additional pain patches prescribed by Dumdass Denis, my wife was afraid to take the pain patches (my wife called their office about her fear which the ass-clowns blew off) with the Vicodin pills. My wife told the troll that she took the Vicodin more often than instructions on the prescription to alleviate the pain, thinking honesty being the best policy with your doctors. The diminutive troll berates my wife for exceeding the directions on the prescription. My wife explains that the Femoral head that is dying in her hip is causing her a great deal more pain than the minimal dose of Vicodin can Aleve. She is headed to UCSF to get her hip replaced and almost begs for something to relief her discomfort till we get to UCSF the next day. "Well, that is tough luck for you." Was the trolls reply we won't give you any more Vicodin. Then the troll tells my wife that the all knowing, pain managers at the CLINIC will put her on the lowest dose of an unknown new medicine prior to her next surgery at UCSF with Dr. Reis. Additionally, they will not let the surgeons @ UCSF give her any pain medicine before, during, or after my wife's hip replacement surgery. My wife asks how in the hell will the troll and Denis be able to judge what her pain level is, when she is going to be from 250 miles away. The testy troll says that only they (NV Pain Management) can and will prescribe the meds as needed. My wife disagreed with this course of pain management and the tiny troll's statement. As a result of her questioning the ass-clowns, the twit says, "Well, best of luck with your surgery. NV Pain MGMT wouldn't prescribe any meds before her surgery, so I spent that evening, holding and comforting my wife at Grand Sierra Resort. My wife crying in pain in my arms and in the bed. Upon our arrival at UCSF, the competent medical personnel there put my wife on medication to alleviate the pain until the surgery the next day. Nevada Advanced Pain Specialists put out a notification that my wife was shopping for doctors for pain medication in retaliation to my wife disagreeing with them, so we have had to explain to our PCM at home what happened. Our PCM confirmed this with the UCSF staff. My wife has asked me to promise not to go sixth century on these ass-clowns....I still haven't made that promise. Go to this outfit if you don't want help. This office should be closed due to the inexperience and incompetence of this MD & his power hungry twit that works as PA there. Absolute worse doctor & organization I've ever seen. Nevada Advanced Pain Specialists Denis G. Patterson I have an ax to grind so bear this in mind'.. You may have a different experience...these `people are accustomed to dealing with scum and it appears that some of this disease has infectyed the man who runs this clinic. and a Ì was a drug counselor in the 70ºs+ Before exile a patient,we would have a team meeting including the MD,mine,the patient,the nurse. If we determined that the patient had violated his contract b through violence or drug abuse,he-she would be quick tapered and referred elsewhere. This clinic does not do any of this. Their rules are rigid and do not allow for extenuati circumstances. If you are poor and have e no insurance other than Medicaid,they assign a nurse o you ìn my case,a very pleasant and helpful one+ You get an appointment once per month and a bottle of pills. No other communication is possible unless you have plenty of time or wish to speak to the physician on duty and they do not appreciate this. To sum up,I got screwed. Only after multiple asttempts to communicate with these people,I took matters into my own hands by going to the emergency room at Renown medical Center..I told him about this on the phone and was banished. The doctor who runs the clinic broke his word.He promised to call me a 8 am the following monday am.I called him and got a machine. Dr.Patterson had one of his minions call and tell me that I was kicked off the program.He refused to meet me,face to face,like a coward would do. I am willing to meet him anytime,anywhere under any circumstances. A pox on you,etc... Your move,Dr.Patterson. He has no business practicing medicine,in my opinion. and please remember,I worked in a methadone clinic when this coward was in grade school.I worked as a counselor for 8 years after College.I feel that this gives some credence to my opinion here. Reno, NV. 89502WOW! I cannot believe Dr. Patterson and the Staff at Nevada Advanced Pain Management Treated Me. I started seeing Patterson and its staff 5 years. I had two procedures. One was a temporary Nerve Block (L) femur because of strong electrical impulses, pain, and numbness. The other was a Facet Joint Ablation that was not successful. Leaving me in constant hip and lower back to mid-back pain, plus the area of the femur. The staff was rude on February 29th, I was told by the staff that I had to pay 125 dollars, or I could not be seen. I tried to make payment arrangements which they declined. I stated I would find another Doctor who cares more for their patients than money. I also had to provide another urine sample, because of the incapacity of the staff to spill it, and they didn't notify me. Which I had to pay twice. After all this, I was still going to see Dr. Patterson, but their manager or front desk person told me that I must GO somewhere else. I am an advocate and the voice for our community. Once doctors and staff at Nevada Pain Management mistreat one patient, they will do this to other patients. They do not care that a patient of 5 years in pain can be treated this way. read more

Dr. Nairizi took over my husbands pain management two years ago. He has a very complex medical history that intimidated a large number of area pain management specialists who after reviewing his medical records from M.D. Anderson Cancer Center refused to accept him as a patient because the complexity of his medical history made him too high risk. Dr. Nairizi is a truly caring physician who is actively interested in his patients. He stays up to date on breaking medical advances and endeavors to provide excellence in medical care. His staff is also wonderful. He has found a group of select individuals who also keep their patients needs as their top priority. No one is ever chit chatting or looking at their cell phone while a patient is waiting. They are friendly and polite - always! Let's face it, people in pain are not always "nice" to be around but you would not know that from how you are received in this practice. I personally have a medical background and would recommend Dr. Nairizi both personally and professionally without reservation. If you have a choice, this is where you want to come or take your loved ones. read more

Dr. Patterson is very nice and personable. I rarely write reviews but had to respond to a very angry, negative, and lengthy review written about Dr. Patterson by John G on 4-28-14. The person states that Dr. Patterson's only concern was a cash payment of $1,500. The person's statements that Patterson is cold, insensitive, uncaring, money hungry, etc. is so far from my experience and what I have witness at this facility. Dr. Patterson always had plenty of time for me and was very patient in explaining the procedure(s), pros and cons, etc. He was always warm and friendly as was his staff. I felt like we were a team working together on my case and treatment. The knee injections that he gave me worked wonders and kept me pain-free for a very long time. Regarding John G, I have found in this world that some people shroud themselves in negativity and therefore find negativity in whatever interactions that they may have in the world. read more

Kristen Bowman and her team are outstanding. I usually go with my elder mother to her appointments and I have learned so much along the way. Pain management is a process nobody wants to go thru, however if you do suffer from complex issues like my mother does I recommend Kristen Bowman as your time wont be wasted. She's no NP to my mother and I....shes absolutely my mothers doctor. Emily Fills in for her when Kristen is out and we find no lapse in quality of care. Kelsey and her team in physical therapy are very experienced and I was impressed with the care they show. They're all very easy to talk with and want to make sure your comfortable. Ian and Ken deserve raises for their attitudes at the desk. You all do. So thank you all dearly for caring for my mom over the many years as we have been to so many doctors for her conditions and know a good experienced team when we see one. read more

My visit to Nevada Advanced Pain Specialist today was via telemed. Melissa was prompt as is her norm. She and Dr. Patterson always, warm friendly and caring. They listen closely to my issues and through our communication they are able to give me treatments and procedures that help tremendously with my pain. Dr.Patterson, Melissa and the staff are very warm, caring, friendly but always professional. The staff have always treated me with respect and protect my privacy. I would and do recommend Nevada Advanced Pain Specialist to all my family and friends. I am a patient of Melissa D. APN & Dr Patterson. I have no complaints about either of these medical professionals. They are caring, have literally gone out of their way to accommodate my needs, including scheduling a procedure on Christmas Eve. Not that I would mind waiting, but I have never waited longer then 10 minutes regardless of how busy they seem. The staff is wonderful, and always helpful. Melissa is an extremely knowledgable practitioner. She strives to find the root of your problem. I'm thankful for her persistence in helping me get pain relief. Yet another successful appointment in the books completed and once again I was seen by the Angel of the office Melissa Delamora, APN. She has a great attitude and excellent bedside manner, she acknowledges that I have pain and is doing everything in her power to give me some more comfort. She has suggested that I undergo the same procedure I had last year and I am considering that option she is not your typical healthcare professional that just throws drugs at you in an attempt to get you out of the office faster she goes over all options so if you are lucky enough to have her as your APN she will give you the best options for controlling your pain. read more

I have seen Jennifer cox for 5 visits now . I had a knee injury 4 to 5 years ago . Caused major problems on opposite side of my body. I have done more than 10 visits of acupuncture, messages , stretch labs. I also had shot injections in my lower back shoulder and neck. Still the pain would soon return. My chiropractor that I have been seeing for years recommended Nevada pain. with my chiropractor and Jennifer working together I have not felt this good in years. nevada pain has a team of people that are all hands on when they work with you.
