Amazing, totally amazing. I had written to my primary care doctor through MyChart to request a referral to see a pain specialist. I had an appointment with him scheduled in a week, and he replied that we could discuss it then. No urgency, no help in the moment. In the meantime, I tried calling a pain management office within his own network (Carson Tahoe Health), hoping to bypass the referral. Unsurprisingly, they said no. I was in a lot of pain, frustrated, and feeling hopeless, until God sent me an angel. Someone told me about Dr. Nairzi and his walk-in urgent care orthopedic clinic in Reno (United Pain Urgent Care). I drove there, arriving at 5 PM. Within just over an hour, I was evaluated and treated with facet joint injections at C2-C3. For the first time in years, I was pain-free. I don't know yet if this will be a permanent fix, but the fact that I could walk in and be treated the same day with no referral was absolutely life changing. I now have a follow up appointment at his main clinic to explore longer term treatment options in case the injections wear off. This is how healthcare should work. Not delayed by bureaucracy or driven by profit, but centered on compassion, urgency, and the patient. I honestly wish I could put 0 stars. This company is absolutely horrible. Sweetwater pain management is much better. I was seeing Jason Machado for over a year and he never addressed my pain just called my scars "sexy" and removing his wedding band each visit. I kept receiving muscle relaxers and was able to see him each month in hopes to having a pain free month, but the pain got worse. Jason said he will not prescribe for the pain medication even with a broken right ankle. I saw AAron and he was better than Jason still wouldn't prescribe until I got a prescription from my orthopedic surgeon then he would prescribe. Well he didn't he just wanted me to get "re-evaluated." The next morning I did just that and he still wouldn't treat my pain. This entire practice is a joke and Jason is a creep. PLEASE DO NOT EVER GO TO RENO TAHOE PAIN. I wish I could have given them zero stars. Reno Tahoe pain is by far the worst doctor's office I've ever worked with in my life. Ive worked as a home healthcare provider for seniors over 20+ years and have NEVER seen anything as cruel as this. I took my client there because she suffers with chronic pain and seizures. I was absolutely shocked at what these awful doctors did to her. They put her on 3 different medications, two very strong muscle relaxers, and Lyrica. These medications you can't just stop taking or you will have horrible withdrawal symptoms. I took her back for her monthly appointment to have her medications refilled. The office staff told us that the computer system was down and they would have to call her meds in the next day. We left with no problems. The next day comes and the pharmacy didn't receive any prescriptions from Reno Tahoe Pain. We called the doctors office and they said they weren't sure what was going on and they would have to call us back. Needless to say they NEVER called back. We called every day for 12 straight days trying to get her help. On the 12 day they decided they didn't want to refill any of her medications. We asked why and they refused to provide any explanations other than we decided not to refill them.. I was forced to watch her withdrawal from all the medications for days. It was absolutely horrible and extremely heartbreaking. I can't understand how any doctor could do that to their patients. It was one of the cruelest things I've ever seen. I couldn't believe how mean and heartless these people were to an elderly woman. Please stay far far away from these horrible people. They do NOT care about you and they shouldn't be allowed to run a pain management company or even work in the medical field. I've talked to several doctors and nurses and was told that Reno Tahoe pain does things like that all the time. All they cared about was her money. What these horrible people did to my client was insane and absolutely heartless. I'm also reporting Cameron Wheeler and Dr. Ali NAIRIZI license number 15219 to the medical board. If anyone else has had problems with Reno Tahoe Pain Associates please report them. He needs his license revoked so he can't do this to anyone else. I've seen this office for months but was discharged for not submitting toba drug screen. Understandable, except for the fact to I was never asked to! They have a "random" selection for drug screens. You roll two dice and depending on the criteria set for that day, you either do or don't have to provide a sample. I rolled an 11 and was told one wasn't required. I completed my appt, checked out at the front desk, made a follow up appt and drove to the pharmacy to fill my script. I then get a call saying I'm discharged for failing to drug screen. All this when NOBODY asked for one. This office is great, until they turn on you, for whatever arbitrary reason they come up with, then you're kicked out in the cold, disabled and in need. read more

*Warning* do not go here! A spineless doctor with an atrocious staff. Dr. Nairizi's staff makes you feel uncomfortable and awkward during most office visits. When touching you, they act like you have the plague. For around a month I've had a seroma build up around my pump . I left 2 messages without a response. I finally got through the 3rd time and spoke with the ever so patronizing Becca. She has always talked down to me with no ability to relate or show empathy towards me. She made it sound like I should know what a seroma build up is. And oh my! The office manager is incredibly hangry. Yes I said hangry! Who comes across cynical and does ALL the talking for Nairizi (Hence, spineless) He will hack you up if you put trust in him and I did. He performed numerous ablations and even more Kenalog injections. He also did 2 surgeries(stimulator and pain pump). I became his lab rat and he took advantage of my desperation. Not even once did they even call to check up on me. He's In it for the money and does not actually care in how you feel or he would actually talk to you. I have been going to RTPM for over a year. Garret is my PA and is the most compassionate and caring pain management pro I have ever been to, ( spinal injury in 1989). He gives sound advice, is not a "pill pusher" and is open to trying everything to get cronic pain undercontroll. He listens and will make suggestions for treatment as well as medication modification as needed and pratical. He is a guy that works WITH you not ON you. I doubt that I will ever be pain free, but Garret does his best to keep me mobile and on my feet and out of a mobility device. read more

I have been fighting pain issues most of my life. Most pain and regular doctors just throw meds and anti inflammatories at it without addressing the issue. About a year ago I started trying different pain specialists to find someone who could help me feel human again. I went here on the advice of my primary care doctor and couldn't be happier with my choice to take her advice. He has gone far above and beyond what any other doctor has done for me. We have done many tests and tried several different treatments until we finally found what works. Dr. Nation's office staff does nothing but lie. Had an appt. Waited over an hour to be seen to become a new patient. My retiring Pain Management Dr, primary care both sent letters of recommendation and 146 pgs of medical records - they ignored his pleas NOT to change my medication as it has done it's job for 25 yrs with no problems. Woman that saw me didn't want to listen, I have 123 allergies to medications and she wanted to start all over again. Do not see this doctor! I trusted him with my life and all he did was cause more grief and suffering. He put a pain pump inside of me and then told me that it was on the proper amount of medication. I had problems with the pump from the get go. He had me come in every other week to "turn up" the pump and every 4-6 weeks for a refill. After 2 years of getting NO RELIEF AND getting tired of going back and forth for appts several times a month, I went to get a second opinion from another doctor. The new doctor was blown away at how LOW my pump was on and couldn't believe how much suffering I had been going through. The new dr informed me that the pain pump is filled and then refilled every 6-8 MONTHS not every month like I had been doing with dr Nairizi. Also I found out that my pump was turned on at such a low dose that would have never worked for pain control. Dr Nairizi made me suffer for 2 years, he watched me cry in his office and then torture me by saying he was "turning" up my pump...while doing nothing! I believed in him and he ruined my life. I have done research and have found others who share my story. Please don't take his word, he doesn't help you, he just takes your money while you suffer needlessly. read more

Very caring staff. Lynette is my PAC and she is amazing. I had a migraine for 4 days and called her. She had me come right in and did everything she could think of to help me get rid of it. I have chronic pain eith fibromyalgia as well as spine issues and have been on pain meds for many years so it's hard to get me out of pain. She found the right concoction for me and so far it's helping. Dr. Narizzi is the nicest guy. He administered my last round of lumbar injections. He was quick and thorough. Dr. Ali Nairizi is a kind and compassionate man who listens to his patient and recommends top treatment. I did not seek out this doctor for pain management but for an outpatient program to help me with my addiction of opioid pain medications. I have experienced firsthand what pain medication addiction can do to your mind and body. I was finding myself needing to take more and more pain medication to maintain a normal living level and I did not like it. I was determined to kick this drug addiction and was able to do it with Dr. Nairizi's help in a very short time. I was on pain medications six months prior to back surgery and continued an additional three months during recovery. If I can kick this terrible addiction in three weeks, so can you! Dr Nairizi is an Anesthesiologist. He is a "Procedure-ist". He does not understand pain from a psychological and emotional perspective, nor does he have training in addiction or mental health issues. This is a center for injury rehabilitation. I have suffered chronic pain all my life as a result of congenital hip dysplasia, which is a birth defect. Having been told I was lucky to even be walking, I never complained. Nor did anyone ask. I survived a traumatic and abusive childhood as well as neglect. I have mental health issues and as I result I do have a history of methamphetamine use. I have been in recovery for 10 years and have avoided taking opiates, using non-narcotic N/SAID pain relievers. In the last 2 years I have focused on relieving my pain with physical therapy. I have always disclosed my complete history to all of my medical providers. Since moving to Nevada, I believe because of that honesty, I may have been labeled a drug-seeker. Approximately 6 months ago my pain has worsened. I requested an opiate pain killer for the first time ever from my primary care provider. She ordered x-rays which "proved" I have a physical and valid reason for my pain. Even though, I am on social security disability and have been for over 5 years for degenerative joint disorder. In order for me to get an opiate prescription, as the HOPES Clinic will not prescribe opiate maintenance prescriptions which is apparently a "new policy" and another subject altogether. I was then referred to Dr. Nairizi at Advanced Pain Associates. At the time of my first visit, I was greeted in the examination room with, " what brings you in today?" Really? I asked him if he even looked at my file or my x-rays. He did not like that. He did not take the time to understand my needs, my concerns or my history, except labeling me as a drug addict. He wanted to perform and offer procedures that he would profit from. He suggested and 3 different types of procedures, for my knees, back and hips, as though these were my first and only options. At the initial consultation, he pushed me into consenting and scheduling two appointments for 3 of his recommended procedures. He wrote me a prescription for 30 vicodin and then advised me because I have a history of addiction (with stimulants NOT opiates), that in order to receive future medication, I would have to show proof of graduating a drug treatment program.He claimed this is required because of "them" referring to the DEA. At this initial consultation, I was required to submit to a urine sample for drug testing. I was also advised I would be subject to random drug screens upon future appointments. I was required to abstain from any street drugs and could be dismissed if I did. This is fine, however, I do feel a lack of personal privacy and trust. He claimed this was required by the government. Prior to my second appointment, I cancelled the appointment the procedures.I didn't feel comfortable, realizing he gave me no information in writing as to explain these procedures. He just scheduled and was ready to bill my insurance. At the time of my second appointment, I brought my proof of programs and letters of personal references from 3 programs. When I asked him about other options besides his "procedures", he spoke over me, was arrogant and cared only of doing what would benefit him financially .He refused to discuss other options (ie., chiropractic, inversion therapy, massage therapy, water therapy, surgery, etc) and completely dismissed my questions. He then questioned my attitude, my psychological state because I questioned his motives and I was frustrated with his attitude towards me. He then flat out refused to prescribe an opiate, actually stating, "he doesn't believe in them" and they "weren't helping me". He could not answer a simple question of what is the root cause of addiction, which is pain. You would think a "pain specialist" would know this. But, he's not. He's a Anesthesiologist. He has his priorities aligned only with himself and not the patient. read more

I started going to Dr. Nairizi over a year ago for chronic back pain.We spoke about implanting a Spinal Cord Simulator but I didn't want any kind of surgery because my back surgery failed. I finally decided to give it a try since I didn't want to be taking so much medication. After having the implant done last October, my back pain is so much better and I have cut my medication in half. Dr. Nairizi is so kind and easy to talk to.
