This year he has been working on our bronco and F150, The new shocks and brakes are amazing He is very responsive, and extremely forthright with telling us about manufacturers and the pandemic and how it's slow down shipping. At first, my experience was pleasant. Good customer service and was able to get me an appointment in a timely manner. I had them fix my brakes and my broken driver's side window. One week later the brakes were squeaking already and my window didn't seal properly. I had an appointment to bring it back but they rescheduled on me just moments before I had to leave my house. I unfortunately could not make the next appointment due to not finding a ride. A few weeks later, my window falls into my door and I cannot roll it up. I call to get it fixed and instead of getting me in right away they tell me they're busy this week. So I then have to inform them that I at least need my window up ASAP. I hear the man curse under his breath and say he'll have to look at the schedule and call me back. Don't bother wasting your time at this place. The customer service is terrible. read more

***CUSTOMERS BEWARE*** I brought my car to Nevada City Automotive in running condition with a common engine code regarding timing chain (PC0011.) The mechanic test drove my car for about 5 minutes and without a full and proper diagnosis they began throwing parts at it as the solution. New battery, new spark plugs, new camshaft timing sensor, none of which created a solution. After replacing the battery and other parts, the condition of the car worsened. The engine no longer started, and after the battery swap my windows stopped working and the mechanic was unable to roll my window back up. After he was stumped, the shop requested that they keep the car for their electrical guy to look at, who was currently M.I.A out of town for the week. During this time I contacted the shop and said it's fine that they need to hold on to the vehicle, but that a storm is coming, so I requested that they store my vehicle inside the shop over the holiday (thanksgiving). I was assured my vehicle would be covered with a tarp and safe while we wait for their guy to return to town. I arrived the following week to find my car has no tarp on it, and the entirety of the front seats are soaked through with a pool of water on the floor. They said "the tarp blew off." They charged me 500$ for the parts and labor and gave me a (sort of sure) diagnosis on the car that will cost in the upper 3000$ (but not an actual guarantee of it being the problem.) During this process I was given the word of the mechanic that since it stopped working on his watch he would have it towed for me if it came down to it, he later went back on his word and said "my wife told me I can't" all the while they tried selling me his wife's vehicle for 6k$ as a final solution. Now I'm out 500$ & the interior of my car is compromised, no real diagnosis on my issue, and now require a tow out of a shop I drove a vehicle in to. ***CUSTOMERS BEWARE*** read more

I have had more than one experience with this place, I have taken work vehicles and personal vehicles here. Two weeks ago I had a hydro boost replaced, but it didn't seem to fix the issue. I was still having braking and steering issues. Yesterday I found a huge puddle under my truck. Most of my power steering fluid had leaked out. Called the shop this morning after finding where the leak came and was told to "bring it in and I'll take care of you" Forward 6 hrs later and still hasn't even looked at it. Wasted my morning and my bosses day for giving me a ride twice for nothing. If you like getting the run around this is your place. Eager to tell you they'll help but the help isn't eager to work on your vehicle. I wouldn't be so angry if it was fixed right the first time and if it was addressed first thing this morning. I originally went here because they had good reviews. I have two experiences with this shop. First, I had them do the axle seals on my f250. Then, I took my truck in for an estimate for a simple e brake replacement and also to have them find out why the truck was still making a strange noise after the first time they worked on it. Went in the third time for the scheduled appointment to replace the cable and find out they didn't even order the part and told me to come back Friday. There are too many other mechanics in this area that will get the job done. Don't waste your time at this place. It's a joke. read more

The guys at Nevada City Auto Service are great! While returning to Reno on Highway 20, my Taurus starting losing power and the check engine light started flashing. I limped back to Nevada City and luckily saw this business from the freeway, so I pulled up to an empty bay. The manager (Jason, I think) had John look at my car. He used analyzers on it, checked under the hood, checked the exhaust, started it, etc., and while doing so, he explained what was going-on. I know some mechanics so I know he was not BS'ing me, and his explanations were sound. Bottom line: he gave me good, honest info which helped me make the decision to have it towed by AAA back to Reno. A dishonest shop could have kept me there and milked me for days, but not these upstanding gents. When I went to the office to settle the bill, Jason told me, "that my day had been bad enough" and didn't charge me. How often have you heard of an auto shop being that cool? I have a good mechanic in Reno, but if these guys had a shop here, I would go to them in a heartbeat, and I heartily recommend them to anyone in the Nevada City area. read more
