I underwent a Septoplasty and Concha Bullosa Resection just two weeks ago, and I can't say enough about how amazing Dr. Manthei and the entire surgical team were! They provided incredible support both before and after the operation, which made a huge difference. If you're considering sinus surgery, I highly recommend diving into YouTube videos or doing some research on the procedure and aftercare. It really helps to mentally prepare for what's ahead! While I did receive some information from my doctor and the surgery scheduling team, I felt like I could've used a bit more to ensure I was ready. I saw Dr. Dawn for unilateral tinnitus, ear fullness, sound sensitivity, and hearing loss confirmed on testing. Very early on, she raised concern about a possible brain tumor, which caused me a significant amount of anxiety and stress while waiting for the MRI. After the MRI came back negative, I felt completely dismissed despite continuing symptoms including ear pain, fullness/clogging, vibration/fluttering sensations, and sound sensitivity that were affecting my daily life. Very little additional investigation or explanation was offered, and I was simply told to use Allegra-D and nasal spray despite not having allergy symptoms. These treatments did not help. What upset me most was the drastic change in attitude after the MRI was clear. I understand serious conditions need to be ruled out, but I did not feel heard, supported, or taken seriously afterward. I've been walked into an appointment and the doctor had no idea what we were even talking about. Didn't even look to see if she got the sleep records back because it was already done she had not fast forward now to this evening when I get a phone call stating that my son has severe sleep apnea. As a mother, I call because I'm genuinely concerned. BETSY, the scheduler was so rude she hung up on my face. I am truly disgusted by this place. To get hung up on?! Honestly, I was very disappointed when I tried to make an appointment. My insurance is Ambetter SilverSummit PPO through the Marketplace, which does not require referrals to see specialists. I confirmed through the Ambetter SilverSummit provider directory that Nevada Ear and Sinus Institute accepts my insurance, and my insurance card explicitly states that referrals are not required. However, when I called today, the receptionist informed me that, due to "my type of insurance," the office requires a referral. I do not have a PCP, and I specifically chose a PPO plan to avoid having to obtain referrals before seeing specialists. Requiring a referral despite my plan not requiring one creates an unnecessary barrier to care and defeats the purpose of purchasing a PPO plan in the first place. The waitlist to establish care with a PCP is currently a minimum of three months. By the time I am able to secure an appointment, obtain a referral that my insurance does not require, and then schedule with the specialist, my care will have been delayed excessively. I specifically chose a PPO plan to avoid these unnecessary barriers to accessing specialty care. My guess is the receptionist thinks I have Medicaid Silver Summit, which is funded by the State of Nevada and likely does require a referral for specialists. read more

If I could give them a minus zero rating I definitely would. I saw Dawn on 4/29/26 and was advised I needed to have a sinus procedure done. She stated that she needed to speak with another doctor and would get back to me within one to two weeks. I called on 5/11/26 to follow-up and left a voice mail message. It's very unfortunate 1 star is the lowest I can rate this doctor as I would surely go to a negative number if I could! I had used Dr. Palacios for a number of years for earwax removal every few months so when my husband's balance was suddenly impaired, and we did not suspect a stroke, I took him to see Dr. Palacios. This was in August of 2025. My husband had many symptoms, including debilitating fatigue, disequilibrium, spasms going from the stomach into the head, headaches, blurred vision, brain fog and 24/7 ear ringing. Dr. Palacios diagnosed him with Labyrinthitis, a viral infection of the inner ear, and told him it would have to run its course and there's nothing he could do for it. He did send him for an MRI to rule out a brain mass or anything related. The MRI was absolutely fine and we went back in three weeks, hoping that Dr. Palacios could possibly do something to alleviate the debilitating symptoms my husband was having. But again, Palacios told us there was absolutely nothing he could do and it has to run its course. For the next few months my husband continued to go to work, feeling absolutely miserable and fighting every minute of every day to walk straight! He went back to Palacios in January to show him he was not getting any better and asked again for his help. But again, Palacios said there was NOTHING he could do, it has to run its course, and like two idiots, we accepted his word. By the end of February my husband was hospitalized. He had many tests to make sure nothing else was going on like a stroke, brain issue, heart issue, etc., etc., etc., and the final diagnosis was Vestibular Neuritis which is similar to Labyrinthitis. The doctors in the hospital were absolutely INCREDULOUS at the neglect my husband received from Palacios! They started him on a 6 day course of prednisone which IMMEDIATELY took away some of the inflammation and he no longer suffered headaches or the spasms from his stomach to his head! They also instructed him to immediately start vestibular therapy which is a therapy specifically for inner ear issues and is available at certain physical therapy facilities where the therapists are property trained in it. He has been going twice a week for the vestibular therapy since the end of March and doing at home exercises three times a day and it's made a significant difference for him. He still has a long road ahead but at least he can walk straight, his eye sight is much better and his fatigue is slowly but surely improving. Had Palacios addressed this in August when we first went to him, my husband might be almost back to normal at this point! Palacios totally and completely failed my husband. He should not call himself a doctor as he did nothing and let my husband suffer for months until he was so ill he had to be hospitalized! Shame on him! I hope this review deters at least one person from making the same mistake we made by trusting him. If you want good medical care, go to someone else. read more

I waited to post a review until after a few visits. The office staff are very friendly but don't expect them to answer the phone. The check-in process is very easy and the wait time has been less than 15 minutes each time I've been here. I wasn't the patient, I actually brought my 5 year old daughter who has been struggling with allergies for months now. 1st visit: (consultation) my daughter and I felt very comfortable and were attended promptly at the time of her appointment. We saw Dr. Carl Wilson who was very thorough in answering questions I had regarding my daughters allergies, her symptoms, and what had been going on regarding her health. He suggested we have both an environmental allergy test, and a food allergy test. He was clear on what to expect and the process of it all. 2nd visit (environmental allergy test): I believe the allergist' name was Randy. He was very professionally. He explained the process and although my daughter did cry because of the scratches being performed on her back, he made sure to do it swiftly, yet carefully. 3rd visit (food allergy test): because we knew what to expect, my daughter was uneasy and she knew it would be a bit painful/ uncomfortable on her back so did cry but Randy again made sure to do it quickly and allowed me to be right next to my daughter to comfort her. He didn't go over the results of any of the tests since he explained that would be for the doctor to go over. 4th visit (Results): I was given the results of both test and Doctor Carl Wilson explained in detail what each tests results entailed and the different approached we can take to take to ease the allergy symptoms my daughter was experiencing. He also explained that at a certain point if I didn't see results using the approach I chose, we can try something else. I felt heard, understood, and saw that he really cared to take time and explain different options. He is a great doctor!! Only downside to this office is getting someone on the phone is a bit challenging. It seems as if you have to leave a voice message for them to call you back. I arrived at Nevada Ear and Sinus for a scheduled appointment with Carl Wilson, PA fully prepared. I wasn't guessing, I wasn't vague -- I had a completed C-1 Workman's Comp form, supporting documents, and prior medical notes that specifically tied my condition (dysphonia) to my work. I was prepared and handed over everything in writing to make this process straightforward. My packet was ignored, and left behind in the exam room. During the visit, Mr. Wilson examined me and acknowledged my symptoms. A procedure was even performed: a flexible laryngoscopy, where a scope was inserted through the nose to examine my vocal cords. Following that procedure, I was given a written diagnosis confirming dysphonia, likely work-related due to vocal overuse. This is important because it proves that the provider not only heard my complaints but also documented the condition and its probable cause in writing. And then -- things took a turn. In front of my wife (who was present the entire time), Mr. Wilson claimed that I had "never mentioned" this was a Workman's Comp case. That was a flat-out lie. I had stated it at check-in. I had stated it again in the exam room. I had the C-1 in my hand and said clearly that this was being pursued through Workman's Comp. There was zero ambiguity. Even though he had just performed a scope, written down the diagnosis, and had my documentation right in front of him, he refused to complete the C-4 form (which every qualified PA is authorized to do in Nevada). Instead of treating me as a patient in need of help, I was dismissed -- rudely and abruptly, with a referral to an outside speech pathologist. I was told to essentially go figure it out elsewhere. This office not only denied me treatment but also misrepresented the facts of the encounter, trying to rewrite reality even with a witness sitting in the room. That's not just unprofessional, it's unethical. Patients come here vulnerable and in need of help -- not to be gaslit, lied to, and pushed aside. I left with my condition untreated, my paperwork ignored, and my wife stunned at the way the entire thing unfolded. If this is how Nevada Ear and Sinus chooses to treat patients who are organized, respectful, and prepared with documentation, then I cannot imagine how they treat those with less ability to advocate for themselves. This was not a minor miscommunication -- it was an outright refusal of care, dishonesty, and a lack of basic human decency. Shameful conduct from a medical office. I had an appt with Carl Wilson, PA-C on March 10th at NV ER and Sinus Institute. I had been going to Urgent Care with Sinus Issues and I mentioned to Carl that I kept getting sinus issues plus my ears havent been cleaned in a while. Before I knew it he cleaned my ears, checked ear pressure, scoped my nose and asked if they ever gave me an antibiotic shot along with prescription. I said no. This office has horrible customer service & Dr. Say, was rude, Uninterested & seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. I had to tell him how to do his job, which was to look in my throat with the camera. This was the reason I waited 3 months for my appoint. Instead, he looked in my mouth with the same scope my regular doctor uses & said," it's probably heartburn" I let him know I do not get heartburn, but he still prescribed me medication for heartburn. He told me, come back in 2 more months after i've taken this medication, that I don't need, to see if I still have a lump in my throat. I made it clear. I've been here twice, once for myself and once while taking care of my grandmother. Their office is clean and modern. The two adjoining buildings are clearly labeled by doctor so you know which one to go to. Brian Kung ENT review Dr. Kung is incredible. I was sent to him because I've had 4 ear surgeries and have a lot of trouble with dizziness, migraines, and balance issues. Dr. Kung was incredibly thorough. He took his time to get a complete history, then did a physical exam of my ears and tested my balance. I got a hearing test and was referred for an MRI of my brain and ears. Audiology review - Marissa Schiber My grandmother has worn hearing aids for the past 6 years. She went to a private practice, but they recently were bought by a corporation and decided it was cool to scam old ladies. Basically, the old place wanted to charge her almost double what her insurance covers because they didn't even tell her she could use her insurance. So I suggested we go to Nevada Ear + Sinus, where she already gets her allergy shots. The first step is to get a hearing test. Thankfully, she'd just had one done at the other audiologist. We were then able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Schiber. She's incredible! She reviewed the hearing test and noticed that it made absolutely no sense. It said she heard 0 words in her left ear but only showed minimal hearing loss in that ear. Clearly, the document wasn't accurate. We were able to go get a hearing test immediately in another room of their office so she could make a more accurate recommendation. Once we had the correct results, Dr. Schiber pulled up my grandmother's insurance portal to show us exactly what was covered. There was absolutely no pressure and she discouraged us from purchasing the most expensive option based on my grandmother's lifestyle. We were able to get headphones for less than half of what the other place was prepared to charge her! read more

She called in nasal spray medications and it was ready very quickly with no wait time. UPDATE : 2 years later and these people still dont answer their phones. I left abput 6-7 messages and to then have 2 different people call me back weeks later on the same day ( Emily doctors assistant & Elky who claimed to be a *supervisor*). Elky told me since its been so long since my last visit I needed an updated referral to schedule a appointment (maybe answer your phones and it wouldn't have been so long since my last appointment). Elky provided me her direct ext. and Emily provided me with her direct line ensuring me I wont be running into this problem anymore after apologizing multiple times. I followed all instructions that Elky told me to do and I submitted an updated referral from my primary and it was sent to their fax and efax. I was told that I would get a call once they received it and it was going to be marked a priority. ( I believed them once again ) . I waited and waited and waited and did not get any calls. I then start reaching out to these people and again NO ANSWER & NO CALL BACK. I called both Elky and Emily mulitple times and left messages with no success. I called the regular line and pressed a random extension and someone did rudely answer only to be put on hold and transferred to Emilys voicemail once again. At this point I gave up and days went by and finally Emily called me today 9:15 apologizing once again and gave me excuses which meant absolutely nothing. This is an ongoing issue from my first appointment a few years ago and nothing has changed not only for me but for all the reviews before and after mine. I am very disappointed in this place. I went over a month ago, and they did their exam and asked me to get diagnostics from another provider. I did. I then sent them to their MA who advised the provider would call me back asap after review. That was over two weeks ago, meanwhile I'm sitting here with breathing issues. Can it get more annoying? Yes. I called today, and their automated message is THE MOST ANNOYING THING IVE EVER HEARD. Literally every TEN SECONDS it interrupts the music to try and talk you into leaving a message. My doc faxed in the referral and i called the office. she said it will take 7 to 10 business days. I said why the fax is there. Her answer: "we are busy" i call again 2 weeks later and get the voicemail. i leave a message, the next day i get a text asking what i want. i told them i have a referral. they had me send insurance and all other info. i get a text .late in the day saying we don't have your referral. sorry for the inconvenience. Worst front desk staff I've ever encountered. Scheduling the initial appointment was awful and took weeks. After finally coming it was agreed both my kids would need surgery. No date was scheduled but they said they would call mid June to schedule. Mid June came and went and I received the pre approval from our insurance so called to see when the surgery was scheduled. After calling multiple times a day for 2 weeks I finally had a date. A few days before July 6 surgery I received, not a phone call, but a text notifying me that the surgeries had been rescheduled to 2 weeks later without verifying that I would be available to take the time off work. At this point I can't get ahold of anyone to verify the new surgery date. I called 2 days before the new date and was told the surgery would take place at a different surgery center and then they sent me the info- I called on a Friday and aueg It's 112° out and I came for a follow up for 2 surgery appointments that should be 10 min long. The practice closes at 4:30 and the appointments were for 4:10 and 4:20. I parked under the covered parking with 2 kids and wasn't allowed to check in until I moved my car. No where on the parking spot does it say it's reserved for anyone. Now over a month later they are denying insurance and I can't get ahold of anyone. Avoid this doctors office. The doctors and the providers are great but front desk and admin are absolutely awful. Would not recommend anyone go here. read more

NO ONE answers the phone. I got a referral from my primary care doctor and after trying to call and make an appointment several times I finally went in after work to find 2 receptionists just sitting there with masks on their faces. Shouldn't one of you be answering the phones????????? Meanwhile there are signs saying rude behavior won't be tolerated. Maybe patients wouldn't be rude if ya'll answered your phones and acted like customer service matters. Finally get an appointment, where I am told by the scheduler, "Sorry about the craziness but we are now the only provider for Medicare/Medicaid so that's what the hold up has been" So now we are blaming an influx of patients for the lack of answering the phones and scheduling appointments. In this economy I'd think most providers would be grateful for the business but if your practice can't handle that maybe you should stop seeing new patients until things settle down so your current patients can get the service they deserve. I now have a bacterial infection in my sinuses because I can't get in to see the allergist to find out what I'm allergic to and get a care plan. Randy, the allergist has a carefully curated message when you call. Please leave your name, number and time you called. I do as he asks but since I am a teacher I also add please call me between 10:45 and 12:15 or after 2:30. Today he called me back at 12:58. This is also true of the other 8 phone calls and messages I have left. I suggest a time so as not to waste his time and he calls outside that time like somehow I'm supposed to tell a room full of 30 kindergartners with no aid that they have to behave while their teacher answers the phone on a medical issue. Most people couldn't do that with one 5 year old yammering.... now I'm expected to do it with 30?????? This is HIGHLY FRUSTRATING when you are a CCSD educator with limited time without students and you need to make an appointment and you are only available to call or answer calls after school or on your 30 minute lunch which means you don't eat at all at lunch time. The customer service at this office is unprofessional and ultimately dangerous. They don't listen to their voice mails ever and they won't take any responsibility for this unprofessional behavior. They finally did and then told me i had to wait almost 3 months for an appointment after waiting 3 weeks to even get a reply. This office staff lacks so much professionalism and office etiquette it is ridiculous! (I was going to go here for something serious so that's why I was in a slight rush) I have called this office almost 10 times last month because I wanted to schedule an appointment and get in as fast as possible so I didn't have to wait for someone to call me because who knows until they have an appointment available or when they were going to call me? And boy was I right. I have called so many times because apparently they don't have my referral that my doctors office sent over here almost 3 times already!! It is ridiculous enough that I have to call them because nobody has ever called me until a month later. This girl called me a month later 2x... I missed both of her calls but it seems that she doesn't know how to leave a voicemail but an amazing beautiful text that I will leave below that was SO informative. Because we answer random calls out here. So I called back the office & this other girl answers and tells me she doesn't know who called me and she wouldn't know because everyone in the office calls patients. Idk either baby so we in the same position. So it took me getting upset at her and telling her my situation for her to get up and find who called me. She finds the girl & this girl who called me, only called me to ask for my insurance & she told me that she'll call me back to schedule an appointment in which she never did. So I called 5x and every single time I called they didn't answer. I even left a voicemail. It is already annoying enough that this girl had my referral this whole time that I've been trying to call to schedule an appointment and she just decides to call me a month later. 20 calls later to this office and I'm tired of trying and I'm tired of the bullshit. Didn't even get to see a doctor just dealt with this shit so I'll give one star back. But amazing job to this girl. read more

First Dr. Manthei was over 3 hours late for the procedure. After the procedure, my husband was in the emergency room twelve hours after being discharged from the surgery center. He had aspirated from a cut artery in his nose. After spending a week in the hospital with aspirated pneumonia. My husband now has to have oxygen.
