I started bankin with Nevada State after a client of mine gave me rave reviews on her bank and the bankers she works with. As I m a commercial banking customer, I ve had dreaded issues with banks and their excessive fees, worthless tellers, and Pinocchio managers who don t have authority to do anything more than janitor. Let me tell you, I m impressed with this bank and specifically the branch, it is run by an efficient team of bankers , who keep the place clean and are always on time day in and day out on their drive thru. The bankers all put in effort to understand your banking habits and create a connection to serving that is hard to find in banking anymore. I have yet to meet the branch manager personally, yet his warm smile and comforting wave most certainly shows he is a man of character and quality. read more

The people in the office on Moana are terrible. I had A CD become due, it is always 10 days that you have opportunity to take the money out. I went in and was "rudely" told that the day it becomes due counts as the first day , AND THAT IT IS ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THE DISCLOSURE. We tried working with JanErik Boers for a home loan, and all I have to say was that it was such a bad experience. He was very unprofessional. His communication was the worst. He should have been honest with us from the very beginning and told us our situation was too complicated for him to help instead of stringing us along and wasting everyone's time. He tried to make it seem like we were unresponsive to his requests, but we provided or took action as soon as we received his messages. He requested we come in in person asap, and we showed up that same day. He was surprised and unprepared for us, despite my reply email stating we would be there that day. He also told us there were urgent tasks to complete, but we didn't receive any email instructions until 4 days later. He repeatedly asked for the same documents even though we had already sent them in. He was extremely rude to our realtor when she was trying to follow up on items he requested (majority of which we had already provided) and he straight told her "their file is a F***ing mess and I don't want to work with them". He could have just been honest and told us he couldn't do it. We did our best to work with him despite how unresponsive and rude he was, but ultimately, it was a waste of time read more

From opening my account to getting a mortgage loan both of my service representatives where kind, professional, and straight forward. I wish I could remember who helped me open my account but I can't remember his name but he was incredibly kind. Janerik was a professional, kind, and really worked with me to achieve my mortgage outcome even with MY difficult situation. He was straightforward, helpful, and patient. Above and beyond. This is a terrible bank. Always short staffed and they don't offer anything for incentives. If someone gets a hold of your debit card information and you get a fraudulent charge, they don't let you know about it, but they lock you card right away, and it might take a couple of days before you know your card is locked. Then it takes 2 weeks or more before you get a new debit card and if you want it sooner it will cost you $25.00, but you still won't get for a week. I want to respond to a comment here about JanErik reportedly ghosting. This may have been when Jan was helping me close. He got sick with Covid, and If anyone has ever had it, you are useless and all you can think about is survival. I had a complicated situation , and a lot of it was my fault. Jan changed my loan to save me more money. He didn't have to do that. He could have told me to find another lender, and I'd be without a place to live. I feel he's human and he cared about me. It's one of those places you have to go to once in a while but try to avoid I used this branch the entire 15 years I've lived here and yet don't know a soul that works here. I seldom get the same person twice. In the afternoons the line can be kinda long and there are only a couple of tellers available. The drive thru can be even slower. The staff is always friendly. Do not sign up with any branch of this bank if you are senior citizen or at all likely to pass away. My father had an account with them. When he passed, I called all his banks to inform them. Then months passed, as probate processes went on. When I finally was able to close the account, the amount in the account differed from what the last bank statement before Dad's death said. So I called to ask about the difference. NSB had continued to charge my father $2+ each month for a paper bank statement... but sent no bank statements. I said, fine, send me a check or send me the bank statements. They said I had to drive (300 miles!!!) to their nearest branch to collect either item. (Send the statements to Dad's address; I hadn't finished tidying it up and still visited there semi-regularly. Nope, they couldn't do that.) Too bad, so sad, they charged my father fees for a service they never rendered, and they were not going to pay him back or provide the service. I note that banked at multiple banks. (Common with senior citizens, I've learned.) None of the others failed to give me the entire sum of money that had been in the accounts at the time my father passed, and all of the others sent helpful final bank statements. About a month ago, I deposited a check from a San Francisco law firm for $10,000; they put a 7 day hold on it. The woman who explained it said they hold it because they can, then she told me it was also because I had less than a $100 in my account, and they had no record of ever having handled a check from this company in their system. So today, I deposited a check from the SAME COMPANY for about $46,000. Prior to depositing the check, I had over $3,000 in the account. They still put a 7 day hold on this check. read more

A bank that is there when I need it. They have a drive thru and walk up ATM which is available to use 24/7. The tellers can be friendly and courteous depending on who you get and what time of the year you come in. My parents banked with them when I was growing up so when it was time for me to get a account the choice was clear. Got grandfathered in practically lol! Right across the street from Deli Towne so I usually grab a bite from there when I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Seriously, 10 day hold on a check from another bank that had been deposited from previously, causing my account to overdraw while on vacation. The previous check was held for 5 days. Spent 35 minutes on the phone in an attempt to have arbitrary hold removed. Jeremiah, the branch manager, waves his magic wand to cancel the hold - no questions asked - but will not waive the overdraft fee as a result of the arbitrary hold (wait for it...) "because the ATM was the culprit." No joke. Pathetic customer service. Pathetic arbitrary policies. read more

I would give them 0 stars if it were possible. I have had fraudulent activity on my account at least 4 times, been charged BS late fees and overdraft charges when they were fixed the same day, and multiple other problems over the years with this sad excuse for a bank.
