I was meeting someone about fraud on my card and I'm very stressed about finances and in the middle of my meeting the financial man decided to have a conversation with a friend or other in the middle of our meeting and talk about a party and his friend handled handed him a bottle of tequila while I was in a very high stress situation and didn't take my case seriously I felt so dismissed and very disrespected for my time. I know Wells Fargo has gotten a lot of bad press over the last couple of years and have heard of people having bad experiences with Wells Fargo - maybe not this particular branch, but Wells Fargo in general. Well, I guess I am just lucky. I have been a Wells Fargo Customer for about a gazillion years and have had no complaints. I have always had good dealings with my local branches - first in Yerington, now in Reno. I Have actually only been in this branch a couple of times as I am able to do most of my banking on-line. The two times I have been in to talk to an actual person, it has been positive and the staff have been polite, professional, and were able to answer my question and provide assistance. The most recent visit was related to my Economic Impact Payment. The details of my problem are immaterial to this review, but I needed to get the money sent to me off of a preloaded Visa card and into my savings account. I came in upset, agitated and frustrated. Nathan was calm and businesslike and said that absolutely he could take care of it for me. All taken care of quick and easy. They have the space set up for safe social distancing. All staff were wearing face masks, directions are clear, and they have people around to answer questions and manage the logistics of entering and exiting the bank. Literally ruined our day. Why does WF allow such awful people represent their company? They must not care about their clients. Obviously. This is a bad community bank. After having written a positive review in the past, today I tried to apply with them for the Payroll Protection loan and they refused to take an application. So Wells is obstructing the Reno community from even apply for loans from the federal government. These are loans, mind you, that are federal funds (NOT even Wells money) and for which Wells would earn a fee. Support a local bank or credit union and not this bank. read more

Moved to Reno from Los Angeles where I banked with Wells Fargo for more than 25 years. They were a pleasure to work with- outstanding staff, terrific service. Since moving to Reno, every experience with this bank has been awful. Want to make an appointment with a banker? You'll wait 40 minutes in the lobby- past the appointed time. Want to work out a potential issue with your account being hacked? They'll direct you to call their '800' number who, in turn, will tell you to go to the bank. Need a new ATM card? They won't provide you with one (unlike the branch in Los Angeles). They'll have one mailed to you in 5-7 business days- regardless of whether you need one more immediately or not. I am not a Wells Fargo Customer, I am Wells Fargo refugee with the risk of being deported back to Wells Fargo. I am a World Savings customer with a 2005 mortgage serviced by Wells Fargo, which they purchased with TARP funds. Wells Fargo has the attitude that they will service the existing loan, but not provide customer service: I have attempted a Loan Modification, Denied. I have attempted a HAMP Modification, Denied. After six attempts of modifying the loan since I am retired and on Social Security, Wells Fargo claims that I cannot afford the house, they will not modify the loan, even change the mortgage due date, to accommodate the Social Security deposit date. Since I have a mortgage on the house, I cannot sell it without income tax penalty if I do not obtain a mortgage of equal for more value. Wells Fargo would rather put the house into foreclosure than work with me in any shape or form. read more

It would be nice if the branch manager ACTUALLY knew how to process an insurance check. We got the run around about how "that branch" would do things, yet that was no help with trying to deposit an insurance check after a claim. These people have no clue what a mortgage company endorsing a check looks like, or how to even read a mortgagee clause. Take your banking needs elsewhere! I am going to close this account and go elsewhere. Here's why. I've had my accounts here (3 of them), for more than 10 years. One of these accounts is with my husband, the other two are my own. Recently, a smallish check (in comparison to my balance) was made out to my husband, who countersigned it to me because the check is for money owed to me. When I attempted to deposit this check in my account, the representative told me that according to Wells Fargo policy, my husband must be present because they had no proof he had actually signed the check. I raised HELL!!! A "Customer Service Rep", whatever the hell that is, came over and told me there was nothing they could do. I didn't believe her, so I called Wells Fargo's 800 number, and the rep confirmed their "policy," which she insisted, was there to "protect you the customer." If managers and supervisors are not allowed to override policies like this when an account merits it, then there is absolutely no point in banking here since I do so only as a matter of convenience. This bank pays a lot less than Schwab does for the privilege of having my money on deposit. Additionally, Reno has a local bank if I want to have a regular bank account somewhere. I'll just have to drive a little further. Before I change to another bank, I'm going to find out about their policy for depositing checks first. Once burned, twice shy. Bye bye Wells Fargo. This branch is always short staffed. Multiple times I've come in and there is only one teller and a long line of customers. Meanwhile other staff members are just walking around the bank trying to convince customers to use the ATM instead of actually helping anyone. read more

I have been a satisfied Wells Fargo customer for many years now and have referred many important clients and family members to the bank. I recently was paid for services through money orders sent to me which were made available to my account the next day. I have always been led to believe that money orders are as good as cash and have never heard of legitimate fakes being made. Two days after placing these money orders into my account I took out money thinking that I had put over $1,800 in my account two days prior. I was sickened when I was notified 5 days later that the funds had been placed on hold while the money orders were being verified. Not to mention the bank took an additional $1,800 out of my account which overdrafted it onto my credit card and made me incur many unnecessary fees. I later was told they were fraudulent and that my account had overdrafted onto my credit card. I went to the bank which was on Los Feliz Blvd. in Los Angeles, which was where I was living at the time, to inquire about what had happened and was told there was nothing they could do and that it was treated like a bounced check. I asked how could that be possible. Money orders are supposed to be like cash or I would have never accepted that method of payment. I had to drive all the way home to Reno, NV before I could get a competent representative to remove the overdraft and the fees incurred by it. Which was the fault of corporate. The California branch has always been good to me and are by far the most competent employees I have dealt with. It seems to me that corporate is slacking on their end. The actual branches have no authority to change things like fraudulent money orders. Therefore unfortunately I am left trying to speak to corporate which is not returning my emails and/or calls. Also how would I as an untrained civilian know how to look for a fake money order? Isn't that why I use a bank with trained professionals? I am appalled that my bank would not protect me against such fraud! I have always trusted Wells Fargo as a company that works for their customers to make sure they are protected and informed. I am now extremely upset with the company and I am pretty much broke and unable to pay my rent. The lack of concern I have been met with through their customer service representatives is disturbing. I have two checking accounts, a savings account and a credit card with you. I am very close to pulling all funds and moving to another bank. I also plan on suggesting that my clients and family members do so as well. I am hoping that I can be proven wrong and that someone in the company can help me out. read more

He was so professional! He knew his stuff, which made us really comfortable because it's our first home at a price point that makes me nervous as it is. I have used 3 different big banks for my finances, and I would say Wells Fargo (just all branches in general) is one of the better ones. This branch in particular is great because you can do almost everything virtually through the drive up window! There have been a few occasions that there were some issues and I had to go inside because the people at the window had confusion over my savings/checking accounts, but generally the basic stuff can be done at the window. Usually everyone is very nice as far as customer service goes. I wont say what other bank I was at before that caused me to finally move my accounts to Wells Fargo, but the frustrations at Wells Fargo are far fewer now! read more

On March 31st I began my day off, on a beautiful morning, by attempting to get some cash from the WF ATM at the corner of California & Virginia Streets. The ATM did not deliver the requested cash and kept my debit card. I needed cash; I needed my debit card, and I now had neither. After calling an 800 number shown on the screen of the ATM, my discussion with the person was useless and a total waste of time. I proceeded to walk to a nearby branch to deal with my dilemma. After explaining my reason for being there I was asked to take a seat. While it took too long to be waited on, I was issued a temporary debit card and I was inconveniently on my way. 8 days later, today, on another beautiful day off, I had the same experience. Cash request, transaction entered, 0 cash delivered and brand new debit card again eaten by the ATM. Another inconvenient unplanned trip to my neighborhood branch. Another temporary card issued. The manager who came to assist the young woman acted as a consultant; he never extended an apology to me for my inconvenience. There's my update on Wells Fargo. read more

I've never had a problem here and I come here at least twice a week for my boss. The tellers and other staff are courteous and efficient, whether I'm here to cash a check or need a notary or other service. I would suggest you call and make an appointment if you need notary services, though, because it can get busy. Otherwise, if you just walk in, there is a wait and the good thing is, they will tell you if there'll be a wait and offer to make an appointment for you. I love that they have drive-thru teller services (2 lanes) and ATMs. The only thing that I don't like is that they took out the ATM that was on the side of the building, which was much easier for walk-ups because now I have to walk to the drive-thru ATM to use it. Yes, I know they put one in the lobby by the teller windows, but the whole point of my wanting a walk-up ATM was that I wouldn't have to go INTO the bank and that's the reason for 4 stars. read more

Banks are business's like it or not they are for profit. I dont love wells fargo but remain with them because of the people, and convenience. I hate when people gripe about loans they took out and our now mad that they should pay such loans? Do you go to a restauraunt and expect the meal to be discounted if you felt it wasn't worth the sticker price? This review is about the employees of the California branch of the Wells Fargo and not about the bank. I dealt with three young men (the transaction was unexpected complicated by a technical computer issue) on Wednesday 9/3/14 and these guys were great. Based on their customer service, I would have been tempted to open an account with Wells Fargo. I cannot recommend these young gentlemen enough -- I did see that one of the names was Arturo --- They rock on the customer service front. Too bad Wells Fargo can't learn a thing or two from these wonderful young gentlemen. The Henry Wells slogan on the wall -- falls well short of what a bank should do -- old fashioned high quality person to person customer service and being able to trust the financial institution are the real cornerstone of banking -- something Wells Fargo and other banking institutions ignore. Which is why this review is being posted on YELP -- I tried going on Wells Fargo's website and could not find a way to send them an e-mail to complement the customer service I received at this branch. read more

Don't be polite with these animals. Every time I have smiled in this location it adds 5 extra minutes to the transaction because of their begging me to get a credit card. They like to be overly friendly, but it always ends in trying to give you a credit card. I recommend going in five minutes before close with a "fuck you" look on your face. read more
