Beyond the food, the atmosphere didn't help the situation. The music was extremely loud--to the point where it was hard to even focus on the meal or have a conversation. So i opted to take it to go. There's a difference between creating a vibe and overwhelming your customers, and this leaned heavily toward the latter. What really makes this disappointing is the time I waited to try this place. When you build something up for years, you expect at least a decent experience. Instead, it felt like nothing was executed with care--from the menu inconsistency to the food quality to the overall environment. This one genuinely hurts to write because I wanted to like it. I wanted to walk out recommending it. But based on this visit, it just didn't deliver. Definitely not worth the wait, and unfortunately not a place I'd return to. The story of Las Toxicas is beautiful, and maybe atone point it was awesome, but as of now, it let me down. They have to get it together and when I return in a few months, i can rewrite my review. Her mom was a street vendor for so many years and then they started their business in their home and now they have this local business. Happy it's 8 minutes away from where I live. It's a very small place but I think it looks small bc of the giant Teddys bears . The service is good. It gets full but there's enough staff to prep food, desserts and corn on the cob and drinks. I ordered the ELOCHETOS. I was able to finish the corn on the cob but not the extra corn on the side. Maybe if I was on empty I'd would have eaten it all. It wasn't as spicy as I hoped but it was not bad. My sisters orders so many other things. I'll post them now. The inside of the ice cream shop is cute. There's a large flat-screen TV and there were games on some of the tables. They were playing 90s pop hits on the sound system which added to the vibe. The space is comfortable, and it's clear that someone paid attention to the details, but the product they're serving is lackluster. You're better off going to Baskin Robbins, where you can get two double scoops for twelve dollars. It's a national chain but you're getting a better value for your money. We paid $21 for two single scoops, which for us ended up being a waste of money. Nitro was definitely a one and done experience. I'll stick with Sugar Shack, Kilwins, or Runaway Cow.
