    Tacos and sauces
    Melanie T.

An update on my first review from a few years ago! I recently came back to Chilango for a weekday lunch, and then again soon after because it was so good! It absolutely gets busy for lunch, so just keep that in mind if you have limited time, but even with takeout orders and many people sitting in to eat, they seem to be pretty efficient. Service is good and they are quick to turnaround tables and keep the space clean. I love that once you sit down they bring out three bottles of sauce, which are always so clean and filled. They really take care of their sauce bottles which I appreciate! ( I like that they don't leave them out so that the bottles don't get all sticky or have dried sauce on the tips. ) The three sauces are still super delicious. One is sweet and savory. Another is smokey. And the green one is mild and refreshing. The food itself is so flavorful and delicious, it doesn't need sauce, but the sauce itself is so good that I had to add it (a lot of it)! I recently had the veggie taco and al pastor taco and it came out to be under $8 and a really generous amount of food that was filling! I was really impressed with the variety of veggies in the veggie taco and how flavorful it was. It had mushrooms, a bell peppers, and lots of colorful veggies. Its a veggie taco I would get excited about. The al pastor was incredible. The flavor of the pork was so so good. It was sweet and tender and savory. Their empanadas are also really good!! Great service and delicious food!

Ordered the steak burrito bowl with everything. Ordered a to go order and it was made very fast. Everything tasted very fresh. What makes this place stand out is the salsa. The red and green salsa give the bowls a good spice that elevates the bowl. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside, there are a few tables that you can dine in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I definitely will be back, the food is yummy.

11/10 on authentic mexican food! i found this place in college when i was a freshman and now it's one of my safe food places- somewhere i know ill really enjoy the food! i always get the beef and rice empanadas and they are soooooooo good!! pink sauce for the win - idk what's in it, but it's so good!!! it's a quaint area and the workers are always so kind

Hands down the best empanadas I've ever had! They are incredibly crispy and hit the spot every single time. To be honest, I haven't even tried anything else on the menu yet because the empanadas are that good. The service is quick and friendly, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place itself is a decent size with a really cute atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's the perfect spot for a quick lunch or a reliable pickup!

    Nachos Quesadilla

The nachos here are amazing! They always hook it up and stuff the whole to go box with food. The serrano and morita pepper sauces are my favorite. The serrano is actually pretty spicy for someone who likes heat. Only downside is i got food poisoning from the queso when i door dashed it one time which is why i gave it 3 stars. I really love this place and have continued to order here but I'm always extremely cautious if it tastes off. Overall this place is decent mexican food and the sauces are a game changer. Its pretty inexpensive and is worth it overall. Even with food poisoning i still eat here so thats saying something!

Insane portions for the price! The fish taco was fine to me but the quesadilla was massive and super filling. It could definitely feel two people. The bowl was also huge and filling and flavorful

Huge portions!! It's classic burritos and bowls type place. You don't make your own bowl or burrito but you can make any adjustments. We got vegetarian burrito and nachos. Both of the items were really good. Great place to go for a quick and easy meal. The sauces they have are also pretty delicious. The service was decent. Good can out pretty fast. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small with a few tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely be going again!

Got the steak burrito and YUM The staff was so nice and the sauces were fire. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Enough indoor seating for our party of 7[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]! No better half-marathon meal for SURE. Did not finish burrito, so getting second meal out of it tmrww!!

If you're looking for a delicious, fresh, and flavor-packed burrito, Chilango is the spot! This place serves up bold, authentic Mexican flavors, and their veggie burrito is hands-down one of my favorites in the city. Veggie Burrito - A Must-Try! This burrito is huge, satisfying, and packed with fresh ingredients. The flavors are well-balanced, with perfectly seasoned veggies, creamy guacamole, beans, rice, and just the right touch of spice. Every bite is super flavorful and never feels dry or bland--which can sometimes be a challenge with veggie burritos! Why I Love Chilango: Fresh, high-quality ingredients that make every bite amazing Perfectly wrapped burritos that don't fall apart halfway through Friendly service & a casual, welcoming vibe Great portion sizes for the price If you're craving a hearty, well-made burrito with real flavor, Chilango is a must-visit! I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu, but for now, their veggie burrito remains undefeated!

    Chicken bowl

Think chipotle but bigger portions. Just a few blocks from our airbnb we ran into Chilango and knew we needed a quick dinner meal before our next activity. I decided on a chicken bowl and love the facts so much of this meal is healthy. From the rice all the way to the fresh toppings. This bowl was so giant I barely was able to finish 1/3 of it. The food was very tasty and made to order which I loved. I also opted for esquite which was tasty and was pretty basic to most elote I've had. The star of the show was definitely the dessert empanadas. We tried both the caramel apple and Nutella banana. They were so crisp and full of flavor. Such a great treat to end our meal.

    Maitri S.

The Mexican food always hits! They have large portions- perfect for sharing. Many of the items are customizable so it's great for people with specific dietary needs. I love the nachos and loaded burrito- they know how to sauce things up

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. I must admit that I had low expectations because quite frankly, I have not enjoyed Mexican food outside of Mexico or California. However, we were hungry, and it was near where we were staying, so I decided we should check it out, and I am so glad we did! The food was great. Both adults and the VERY picky children in our group all enjoyed our meals. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas and the other adult ordered a chile relleno combo, which I also got to try. Everything was delicious and devoured by all! We were so full but the owner talked us into the chocoflan, and we did not regret trying it. It was soooo good! Speaking of the owner, the service was great. We really enjoyed how he and the rest of the staff were very courteous. It is a small establishment, and it gets a good amount of people, so I assume that there are waits during peak hours. I highly recommend Sabroso! Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it!
