A few years ago they were great. Friendly team showed up as agreed and performed great work. In 2023 called the main number again and one of the employees got back to me for follow up. Then.....ghosted. Got voicemail when calling the employee back to get an appointment set up to take a look. Tried 1x week for a month. Then voicemail full. Called main number again twice, left messages, nothing. If they weren't that great before I wouldn't had bothered. Evidently they went downhill. I called Nevernest because I wanted to work with a local company instead of one of the bigger chains. I did not know anything about them but decided to take a chance. I called the office and was able to get someone to come out the following morning for an estimate. I met with Brian and his partner Don and we discussed the work to be done. Carpenter bees are a pain in the ass. The guys came back the next morning to treat for the carpenter bees and they also installed some stainless steel mesh in the rafters of our back porch to keep the birds out. Great work, reasonable price, and they showed up when promised and stuck to the price they quoted. You can't ask for much more than that. Screw you, carpenter bees! read more

I contracted them for a retail commercial building that had problem with wasps coming in from the roof. The contractor came out and was already equipped with a extended ladder to access the roof. He found a vent that was not capped properly and a nest. He took care of the problem and was extremely professional with our tenets. He even provided pictures of the roof top areas of concerned. Other services wanted to me to send a year long contract but these guys just came out and took care of business! read more

Nevernest responded promptly to my issue with bird's coming in through the attic vents. They were willing to give me a quote over the phone, with an average cost of what similar work ran for them in the past. Two other companies said they'd need to come out, assess the situation, and then have me sign a contract first. ?! My landlord called this company to come help with the RAT problem in our apartment. They never showed up at the time they were supposed to and did not answer calls. They were supposed to come on a Saturday and the problem was reported on Wednesday so I had to wait until Monday night for them to come. The man that came out was about to leave without even giving me a report of how we were going to get rid of these rats. The rep from Nevernest didn't get my landlord a correct rundown at all of what was going on with my rat problem. The next day Orkin came out (on time). They accessed the situation and said that Nevernest didn't even lay the traps correctly, that their traps would not have caught any rats. I wouldn't waste your time. read more

I called them to deal with a squirrel in my attic. They scheduled a visit then called half an hour before arriving to reschedule. No big deal. They came out the next day and inspected my roof, found a couple of spots where they figured the squirrel was getting in. They claimed that the pitch of my roof made it impossible to set traps but that they could set a trap on the ground, though that would probably catch a bunch of squirrels and I'd have to pay for each one to be removed. That didn't sound great to me, so they patched the holes and we hoped the squirrel was gone. He wasn't. I called them back and they came for another inspection. They didn't have the right ladder so they said they would have to come another day and I should expect a call from the office to schedule it. That didn't happen. I called them a couple of days later and arranged another visit. This time they came, again without a ladder, but with a trap that they hoped might catch the squirrel up in the roof. From the ground they spotted a likely entry point, but still didn't have the right ladder. A week went by, they never came back with the right ladder to look for new holes and never checked on their trap. I called them yet again and asked for them to come look at this possible entry point. The office said they'd check with the technicians and get back to me. I never heard from them again. By this point I'd had a squirrel scratching above my bed for three weeks. I called Critter Detectives in Lombard. They came out the next day and placed traps on the roof at the two entry points that they found by using an appropriately sized ladder. The next day the squirrel was caught. I called them and two hours later they came to take the squirrel away and replace the trap in case there is another. If you've got a similar critter problem I'd recommend calling someone else. read more

I used this company because the previous review was so high. I have a clothing moth infestation which I found in my bedroom closet. The first time I called, they sent out an exterminator, and he sprayed the closet. He did not leave any traps, and I did not know any better or I would have asked for some. One month later, the moths showed up again, just as bad as the first time. I called again, this time they gave me a discounted rate since the first time didn't take. Another guy came out, left out a few traps in the living room and bedroom. In the meantime I had removed all clothes from the closet and put them in moth ball filled tubs. The guy sprayed the bedroom again. He didn't even bother with the rest of the condo. 2 weeks later, and each day the traps are catching more and more moths. I have googled this problem many times....advice online is to remove wool rugs, check ducts, spray baseboards, etc. I am finding that the moths are coming from the living room, not the bedroom! And where they are hiding I have no idea, they only come out in the dark! I was fed up and called another company, these guys don't seem to be so aggressive. The other company did a thorough investigation, sprayed the whole place, and told me the traps that were left weren't even opened, the phermones were still contained in their holder and not released! Basically if you want to spend $150 on a kid with a can of spray, this is what you'll get. read more

Just an update... I saw that Thad, the owner had left a note for feedback on his company, so I thought, well, why not. Well, here's why not. This man talked over me constantly, didn't really care what I said until halfway through the conversation and then told me that in fact, the stuff they used shouldn't have ANY tenants in the apartments being treated! He also told me not to worry, that I would not have to deal with the two "techs" who had come previously (there was a scheduled appointment for the next day), and he would send someone new or even come himself. Well, I opened the door, and who should be there, but one of the same guys we've been complaining about. And, to top it all off, apparently, Mr. Thad only hears what he wants to hear. His employee told us that he was made privy to my call of the previous evening, and it seems that Thad is under the impression I am suing him (actually said, "had I needed to go to a hospital I could have sued you and your business) AND that I lied to him and said I was pregnant!! (actually said, "I now understand that this stuff should not be used around people with asthma, PREGNANT women or pets"). And gee, if I had said I was pregnant, how would he know I'd lied about it? So, it is no big mystery to me why his employees are so awful, look at the man that pays their salary. Clueless, uninterested and to me, dangerous. read more

Another fantastic job by Nevernest. Some animal had somehow gotten into my house and was hiding in my walk-in closet. There was no way I was going to peek my head in there to figure it out, so it was Nevernest to the rescue. Rich was able to identify the critter just by my description of the havoc it had caused. He personally came out, on a Sunday night, to handle it. In he went to my barricaded bedroom (I had closed the door and lined the bottom with bath towels) and less than 10 minutes later he came out with a squirrel in a cage. I would have thought the squirrel was cute except for the sleepless night in the guest bedroom it caused. Thanks to Nevernest and Rich, I can sleep peacefully tonight. I would love to say how well these guys did their job, but considering they told our landlord they were here at 3pm, and it's now 6pm with no show from the exterminator (and our whole building is here waiting for him, so obviously we were here), I have no choice but to give a 1 star review. No call back from their messaging service even though our landlord and everyone in the building has been calling them. Terrible customer service. read more

I called Nevernest regarding a squirrel problem. For $200, Nevernest told me they would set up traps on the roof. For, $75 they would remove the squirrels in the traps. They were to check on the traps within a few days. I told them that I was not going to be at home on the day that they wanted to check the trap. They said since the trap was on the top of the roof, I didn't have to be at home. They also said they would patch up any holes where the squirrels were getting in my house. Nevernest set the traps up and a week later removed the traps when I was not at home. I called and left message to see if they had caught any squirrels because I still heard them in the ceiling. I never heard back from Nevernest. During my dispute with credit card company, Nevernest only comment was that I signed the contract. read more

I woke up today to hear a bird had gotten into my bathroom vents somehow! I have house guests arriving today so not a good situation! I called Nevernest and they were able to send a team out within about 1 hour. The two guys arrived on time, were very professional and they completed the nest removal, clean out, fogging, and placed a guard to prevent any future issues. They completed the work within 30 minutes! They even managed to work around power lines that were near where the nest was. I would recommend this to anyone! Recommending to all my neighbors. read more
