I recently completed a 4 day bike ride event and been away from home for almost a week. I almost ran out of clothes so I decided to come do laundry versus buying new clothes. I did not want to make my check bag heavier when going to the airport with new clothes. I do not mind cleaning my clothes as I am frequently in NYC so its okay if I am here for a few hours. Nestled in trendy Upper East Side of Manhattan is this normal laundry mat. I like the name they used. I am assuming they have multiple locations since this location is called number two. The inside is pretty typical of a laundromat and nothing special about it. This location requires you obtain a card and put credit on it for the washing and drying machines. There is no coin machines here at this site. It can be a pain trying to get change or putting coins in the machine. I like simply entering the card in and boom! Very smooth process. Now the cost is as follows. The small washing machines are $4 while the bigger ones are $7.50. Drying is 40 cents per 7 minutes. They sell a mini box of detergent and a mini box of dryer sheets for $1. The wash time took 25 minutes and the drying time took 30 minutes. I sit outside and people watch since it is in a cool neighborhood in NYC. I was not bored at all and in the end I was very happy that I had clean clothes finally that will last me the duration of my time here. I will be back here again ONLY if need to wash again.

This place is one of the neighborhood's only 24 hour cleaners so it's a lifeline for so many people…read morehere in Yorkville. They've jacked up their prices ($5.50 per small wash) and .70 for 6 minutes of dry time--you spend a fortune after carrying it over yourselves. On top of that --all the soap containers and washers are filthy with black mold. The place needs a deep clean and to stop raising their prices.

This laundromat was easily the best option I walked into in my area. The machines are all clean and…read morerun quickly and the staff that has been there when I needed help was pretty straightforward but nice. The information I would want to know when I'm looking up self-service laundry is below: Cost: $5 to buy a refillable card that all the machines use. If you are going for the first time ask for a card to fill, then you can put money on it using cash or card on a machine in the back right by the desk. $4 per wash (cycles are 20 ish minutes). They have a large amount of washers which I've never seen fully occupied but they only have a few that are really big to accommodate sheets and towels. They have several soap options there if that is desirable. Washers lock while washing so you can leave and grab a coffee. 25 cents = 4 minutes on the dryer. I usually end up paying less than $2 to dry all of my clothing bc they're very quick and very large. This location also handles drop-off laundry, but I've never used it! Pros: very clean, good washer availability, locking washers, fast cycles Cons: card can be a bit of a hassle especially the first couple times you use it + it costs $5 the first time

But have never ever had problems with other dry cleaners. EVER. The first time I used Todd Layne was to dry clean the most expensive dress I ever owned. It was 20 years old and I loved its classy black dress look. Took it home, put it in the closet and because I didn't wear it often never looked at it. A year later, took it out for a wedding, packed it still in their plastic bag. Got to the wedding and it wasn't my dress. It was a cheap black dress, not even my size but because it had been so long I felt I couldn't complain. Figured it was a one time issue. WRONG! In 2022 brought in a beautiful, pricey Saks Fifth Avenue blouse (about 10 years old) and a new white shirt. They lost both though insisted they delivered them. There was no record at my very efficient building's concierge. I even checked neighboring buildings. Nothing. I submitted a form for some kind of compensation. As an aside they NEVER apologized. Two years later, though lots of promises to send the check they NEVER delivered the check just like they never delivered my clothes. So if you value your items, and want them returned, go elsewhere.

More than half of the items that I brought in came back damaged. I'm attaching pictures here for reference. 1. They lost the button of my Alice and Olivia jacket and sewed in a cheap, clear button and never addressed this mishap upfront. The jacket also came back with less vibrant colors 2. My white pants came back with damaged fabric 3. The blue silk dress came back with damaged fabric and spots that were not originally there and 4. Blue cashmere scarf came back with spots and discoloration. I came back in to complain about my damaged items and they were unwilling to offer a refund, which would have been the minimum they could have done after damaging several items. Not only did they not refund me, but I also got yelled at by the female front desk associate. She even used the word "fuck". The entire experience was absolutely awful. I am taking precious time to write this review because I wouldn't want anyone to experience what I experienced. Save yourself 1. Your clothes 2. Your time 3. Your money and 4. Your emotional well-being by avoiding this cleaner. There are plenty of other options in the Upper East Side.
