I used to live next door to this laundromat in college and used it nearly every week. Recently, a decade later, I found myself relying on Jian's once again after a washer/dryer breakdown. Jian's is pretty busy on Sundays but you still always manage to find a machine. Prices here are the cheapest after surveying the area. It's a no frills laundromat and the machines work well. No complaints here! I think it was tough to find a self serve laundromat on the UES, so i'm glad Jian's is still there! read more

I used to go to this wash and fold but I noticed my clothes were starting to get less and less clean as time went on and little things were also going missing.. but I am pretty chill so a face mask or sock here and there isn't the end of the world. I've been going here for almost 6 months and today they absolutely ruined all of my white clothes. They all came back with these yellow stains over almost everything I gave them. When I went back to show them they just made excuses and tried to say 1. The stains were already there? Which they absolutely were not. 2. The clothes that used to be white before I brought them in were always that dingy yellow color (absolutely were not) 3. Said "honestly we put everything in a huge washing machine and wash everything together, there's only so much we can do about things getting ruined" pretty much saying when I gave them my clothes to wash and expect them not to get ruined was dumb of me?? I asked for a refund which they refused even though they ruined pretty much half of my wardrobe that was white. They said they could only try to rewash it, but since they took zero responsibility for the first round of ruining them and pretty much told me they had no control over not ruining them, I didn't feel like I should trust them again to fix it. As someone who works for everything I have I am devastated and furious that they ruined my clothes, made no apologies, took no responsibility and even went so far to almost blame me for expecting them to do a good job by saying "well we wash everything together, what can you honestly expect?" If you have other options, don't come to this one. First, the space is very very tiny, it can barely fit two person in the hallway. Second, horrible services. It was our first time and apparently you have to click start on the dryer every time when you put in coins otherwise it will only run for the time of one single coins. Total we put in 20 dollars of coins but it only ran for 1 quarter:3 mins. We explained to the owner but she refuses to solve this situation and blaming me not asking her how to use the machine. read more

I love this place! Mindy and Dennis are the owners, and they are the nicest people ever. I have been using their Wash and Fold delivery services since I moved to the Upper East Side eight years ago. I am chronically ill, and as a result, physically disabled, so I needed to find a local place that I could trust and also that was affordable. Over the years, Mindy and Dennis have been incredibly reliable, and any time there was even a semblance of an issue with how something was washed, they always handled it graciously. They also always work around my work schedule with pickups and deliveries, communicating with me regularly. It has been these small but important gestures that have made it easy to remain loyal to them. In the middle of March, when the city shut down, I started working from home and decided to send every single piece of laundry that I had over to them so I could just get it out of the way, not considering the fact that they would have to close. They were able to get my regular laundry back to me within a couple of days, but unfortunately, because of the state of emergency, a lot of my dry cleaning ended up getting stuck with their external vendor until today. I'm so happy that they were able to reopen and that they kept their family safe, and it was a nice surprise to see Dennis, one of the owners, come to deliver my laundry personally and thank me for my patience. During the pandemic, laundry was daunting because I am physically unable to carry clothes to a laundromat, and also because my autoimmune disorder would have made It unsafe for me to do so. I easily could have found another business to take over in the four months that Fluff N Fold was closed, but I felt that it was more important than ever to root for a local business that has always taken care of me as a customer. I instead purchased a portable washing machine from Amazon in the interim and saved my business for Mindy and Dennis. If you live in the neighborhood and are looking for laundry delivery service, I highly recommend them. I can't speak to the general laundromat, but in speaking with the owners the other day, I was informed that every precaution imaginable is being taken to keep the interior clean and safe for customers. Well run and clean Laundromat. The ladies working there are nice but strict (the carts are for clean clothes only and DO NOT slam the washer/dryer doors. I have been going here for self service for over three years and in the last six months have visited every two weeks for wash dry fold. Never any complaints. Last month I picked up my wash to find my beautiful pink pottery barn sheets covered in gray spots and the lace trim completely gray, along with two pairs of underwear and a dress. I asked that they try to wash them again, and when the sheets continued to come back gray, I asked for compensation. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect compensation for a product ruined while under your care, compensation that totaled out to just two visits, less than half of what I'd paid for the sheets. I thanked them for their help and assured them I'd be back. But as of today they are refusing service. I didn't shout or lose my temper, I just asked for compensation for my damaged belongings, and now they won't serve me because they are "too scared." I planned on continuing to come here regularly, but now I have to recommend that no one else come by. I understand accidents happen, but to refuse to take ownership and make me out to be the bad guy is really low. Very very disappointing. read more

I looked this place up through Siri and called to find out about their services and the woman was so rude to me on the phone. I asked how far from the hospital she didn't know she said. I have her the address of where I was and she said I don't have time , I have a customer. I replied that I'm trying to be a customer and she said well we don't need you I'm full today. I used Fluff-n-Fold for the first time recently and they did the job! I went there for a wash-n-fold. I legit walked the 15 blocks because the prices were the most competitive and I wanted to get acquainted with this laundromat in case I decided to become a regular. The service fell short, so I wont be back. When I went, the person who helped me (maybe the owner?) seemed to not want my clothes. She offered the washing machines and told me I could do it myself, but I specifically asked for wash-and-fold because I was in a rush. When she reluctantly took my laundry, she told me to come back the next day to pick it up. No biggie. I had read reviews from people saying they get their laundry back on the same day, so I felt somewhat disappointed, but ultimately I understood that sometimes these places get busy! No big whoop. When I went back to pick up my clothes, the staff person remembered me and told me that she hadn't told me to come back in the morning, and that I should come back at the end of the day. But that wasn't true; she did tell me to come back in the morning. Thankfully I had the receipt where she wrote "11AM"..and then she proceeded to grab my clean laundry and give it to me. Overall I had an awkward interaction with them and wont be back. I live too far to go someplace where the service is lacking. BUT if you live in the area, I'd recommend them because as far as I'm concerned, the prices here are competitive. read more

This laundry service was once wonderful, greeting you by the name, always friendly, with phenomenal quality of service which is why I have been a customer for close to 10 years. As a broker in the neighborhood I have over the years sent them probably somewhere close to a 100 new clients - something I now feel very sorry for doing. 2 weeks ago I brought in 3 items of clothing to be dry cleaned. Once picked up I took the items home in the plastic cover - upon needing one of the items later next week and taking off the plastic I discovered that my once stunning jumpsuit has been completely ruined, the synthetic fabric has popped and there were threads coming out of the entire garment. It was beyond any repair. I took it back to the shop where I was told that "we never do THAT". At that point the woman turned away and walked off. I very rarely dry clean my clothes and have only taken them here. (As previously mentioned - on again off again client of over 10 years). I was then told that not only would they never do such a bad job - I must have a problem with my memory and used a different dry cleaner and forgot. Meanwhile they have a receipt on record and know me by my name but suddenly I must have a memory issue because I could not have dry cleaned that item there. When I insisted that they check their records they reversed back to "we would never do this". The owner then reversed to talking about how well the coat I dropped off at the same time was cleaned. (Which yes it absolutely was) --- but that's what's so annoying she remembers the 2 items to the smallest detail (where the stain was etc) but somehow not the third one which she personally examined when I dropped it off. Shady much? The shop is run by a husband and wife. The wife was BEYOND RUDE raising her voice screaming "people come here the first time and demanding I give them money for items I never dry cleaned... I don't do that!" Meanwhile she's screaming at me calling me by my name ... since I am someone that has been coming there for I repeat 10 YEARS and never once had so much as even a smallest complaint, even when something was slightly off. Then I insist to speak to her husband who obviously is also the owner, she says you can come back next week since he is off for the next few days. Mind you, he walks in minutes later and before I so much as turn to address him, she starts talking over me in what I believe was Mandarin. Regardless - extremely rude. So in the end not only was the item ruined, I was also charged for it to get ruined and then insulted (in 2 languages) when I asked for some sort of resolution. They refused to take any responsibility whatsoever, essentially called me a liar and would not even acknowledge that I brought the item there despite there being a receipt - as they keep all records. Disgusting! If they would do this to someone with 10 years of loyal history and who is a source of countless referrals just imagine how they would treat a walk-in. Also makes sense why they wouldn't accept credit cards since obviously you are left with no way to dispute even the cost of service itself let alone the damage they caused when they do screw up. read more

I recently moved to the neighborhood. I don't have an elevator and have to walk up and down a lot of stairs. I had a washer and dryer in the building I lived in before (in Chelsea) but don't here (In the Upper East Side.) Also, to be honest, laundry is a pain in the ass. Pardon my French. Anyway, I tend to uhhh.....not do my laundry much. Perhaps, it's just me, but I doubt it. Getting to the point, I decided to check out a laundry service. I'd heard about them, but never used one. It seemed a bit strange to me. However, every time I thought about lugging my million pound pile of dirty clothes to the laundry mat, I somehow realized I had something more important that needed doing (i.e. sitting on the couch and eating an entire bag of chips, watching five episodes of law and order in a row, putting on workout clothes and laying on the couch eating chips watching law and order.) So, what I'm trying to say in this review (I thought it was obvious) is this place did a great job. I gave them a completely random bag of stuff. They say the limit is 50 pounds. I do not have a scale, but I filled the thing up as full as I could get it. I mean, just shoveled the stuff in there. There were towels, sheets, tights, socks, intimates, dresses, leggings, shirts, jeans...etc My clothes are all pretty nice, actually. I should probably take better care of them. That is actually why I look up reviews. That is also why I am very pleased with this place. I have nice stuff. A lot of it says not to wash it, but I do anyway. I have a feeling they read the labels, though, bc I always wash my stuff on delicate and cold and what not and it is obvious they did, as well. If they'd messed up ANYTHING (which they did not:) you better believe I'd be on here writing about it. Also, the woman who answers the phone, and I guess owns the place, is sweet. I have used both self service laundry and dry cleaning. The self service is always clean and I do my laundry early, so there's always available washer and dryers. Jian is super friendly and helpful. Dry cleaning was done perfectly and on time. They use Venmo at the time of this posting, which is nice so that I don't have to bring cash. They do have a coin converter on premises for self service. Based on yelp reviews alone I tried this place. They did an outstanding job. They picked up my laundry and the next afternoon it was delivered and was perfect! I don't mind washing or drying my clothes but when it comes to folding well I just don't do it. The prices are reasonable & you won't regret calling them. I even set up a permanent schedule for them to pick up my dirty laundry every week. Suddenly I'm great with my most hated chore. You need to have cash available but I don't mind...they're doing my dirty laundry. I love this city! Groceries delivered to your door and now laundry done with a phone call. I don't say this lightly, or very often for that matter, but this place has the absolute worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. When you walk in, it's the most stiff and unpleasant environment. No one greets you, they look at you and carry on. As if you are inconveniencing them by spending your money there. Greeting by name? I must have the wrong place. My first experience was a while back when I took my winter coat for dry cleaning. They printed on my receipt that it would be ready the next day. I still called to find out if it was ready but no one ever answers the phone. So I went to collect it and twice it wasn't ready, it took 3 days, contrary to what the receipt said. The most recent encounter, the lady screams at me for "slamming" the dryer door. Which I in fact did not. I told her that she could ask nicely, I was still a customer. And she screamed back. The guy working there, assuming the owner, only defends her and also shouts. I was so shocked at the treatment, do they have any idea how to run a business? Unfortunately I have to go there because I don't know of any self service places in the neighborhood. I'd really appreciate recommendations if anyone reading this knows! I wish they could make it more pleasant and learn the fundamentals of customer service. Perhaps they would get more business. Doing laundry is shitty as is! Service is great, staff always friendly, and even on the busiest days, they still have amazing memory about customers' names and even what color bag they brought in. I've never had anything damaged or lost (I thought I lost a part of a dress once, but it turned out it was in my apartment the whole time.). They are always reliable. When I lived on the Upper East Side it was very hard to find a nearby self-service laundromat. Fluff-n-Fold Laundry was excellent. It's a very tight space but plenty of washers and dryers. The place is well-kept: organized, clean - the most you can expect with such a small place. Also the owner is very nice. I did not use the wash and fold service but this seemed to be well-organized. The Zappos of Laundry Services. So glad this place is (edit was) around the corner from me. I started going here right around when they first opened and Mindy and Dennis have been nothing short of supreb in their commitment to providing excellent service. I'm giving this place 5 stars, so I'll aptly give 5 of the top reasons why. 1. Mindy and Dennis. They are a young couple that devote a lot of hours and hard work to running their business. They're gregarious and have a great sense of humor, making every customer feel warm when they first step foot in the door. Most customers are on a first name basis with D&M and they've remember several details about the way I like to recieve their laundry over the last year and a half. 2. Honesty. Fluff and fold washers are all on site. So the laundry isn't outsourced and sent to some place in the boonies of new york only to show up later with half the stuff missing and a pair of women's purple xl underwear... I've had theat happen to me in the past and it's a real dred when your favorite shirt goes missing in place of purple xl underwear. Yet Fluff and fold hasn't lost or stolen a single item, this is very important to me. 3. Smell. Fluff and fold uses all the regular products you would probably use on your clothes in your hosehold laundry machine. However the option to use your own laundry detergent and products is also available. I chose to just let them use what they use and it smells wonderful. It's not an overbearing smell at all, it just smells fresh when you stick your nose into it. That's how I like my laundry. 4. Crispness. The folding of the shirts and jeans is very crisp. I used to iron half my clothes after taking them out of the laundry but F&F returns my clothing crisp and very well organized. The shirts are all together along with the jeans and so on. So when I get home I can easily tuck them away quickly and crisply. 5. Cost. The cost is relatively cheap and when you factor in the terrific service it's one of the best values in manhattan. I recently moved from my UES apt and I have to say that this place will be one of the things I miss most about living there. Fluff and fold has saved me time and headaches of the usual laundry service debacles. Mindy and Dennis are truly terrific and I wish the best for them in their future endeavors. read more

the best one in the area. It's cheap. If it's close to you, it's probably your best bet for doing your own laundry. It's not worth walking another few blocks for somewhere more consistent. Awful place, my girlfriend picked up her laundry and the was a FRESH FECAL STAIN on her duvet. IT STANK!!! Right next to that was a YELLOW STAIN! Yes the laundry was clean Except for the FECES AND URINE! A clear skid mark on otherwise CLEAN LAUNDRY! NEVER FELT MORE VIOLATED! We called the police, but they only directed us to the better business bureau. Don't know if legal action will be possible, but we will be looking into this further. My girlfriend is distraught, I would never wish this upon anyone in the world, especially during the coronavirus scare! I BEG YOU NEVER GO HERE!!!! I like that when i call they have my name saved, way to be prepared!! I also like that my things I have picked up generally come back to me, all positives. Now for the negative: 1) I sometimes see my laundry bag being drug on the ground as the delivery man leaves my house 2) A few times my blouses have come back so wrinkled it looks as though they have been shoved, while wet, into a small bag & tossed in the corner 3) the delivery & pick up estimates are far from accurate. One time they told me that homeboy would come in an hour & he came in 10 minutes or they say 15 minutes & he shows up chronically late. No seating area for the self-service laundry users, but they do offer a coin machine and individual dryer sheets and detergent packs for sale ($0.75/pack). It's $3.75/load and $0.25/5 minutes for the dryer. First come, first serve, but it is clean and functional. I would definitely do laundry here again. read more

This was our closest laundromat while we lived in the UES. We tried to save money by coming here by eventually decided to support another small business that actually deserved our support. This basement is incredibly cramped, the machines never work, the machines are expensive, and it gets wayyyy too crowded due to the small amount of machines available to customers. Worst of all: Fluff-n-Fold staff caters heavily to worshipping their white locals and will always favor them instead of supporting BIPOC locals. Take your money elsewhere. read more

Guys I'm sorry to be the party pooper - but they suck. The place is a bit pricey and their washing service is just fine. Not more than that. Moreover, their customer service is absolutely horrible. After ruining one of my garments, the only thing they had to offer was a rewash and a very rude response. I didn't ask for much, just a refund for the bad service they gave, although I had to throw away my garment (it literally was destroyed). The lady wouldn't even listen and was very dismissive. That's not a nice way to treat your loyal customers. I dropped off a good thing and got back a bad thing - I will never go back there and I definitely don't recommend that place. Recently moved to the Upper East Side and I've been looking for a drop off laundry service. I tried several in the area before discovering Fluff-n-Fold. Not only are prices decent, but the gentlemen that works in the front is always very accommodating and friendly. Unlike a few other places I've tried in the UES, Fluff-n-Fold takes the time to separate loads and folds everything is a nice, organized way.
