They originally said they would pay for the coat but when i told them I paid $107 (coat originally cost $2,000) they refused and blamed me cause the coat had no tag instructions. They had my phone number and could have called me with any questions or concerns. But didn't tell me anything until i showed up for pick up. This post makes me really sad to even do but what's right is right: I dropped off a pair of suede Birkenstocks to be cleaned on March 26th on my way to work. The owner's wife charged me $25; that's fine, they charged me that on my last pair. While on the train, the husband calls me to tell me that it's $40 to clean them ... we went back and forth and I agreed because I do all my dry cleaning there; well I used to. I went to pick them on Holy Thursday before work and noticed the material had been damaged. The husband was there and after some negotiating he said to bring the receipt; clearly I had mentioned that the shoes cost me $165. That very day after work I went to purchase another pair and brought him the receipt. Now in good faith, I went in Good Friday morning to see them. I brought him the new pair so he can see the material as well as the black pair that I owe and I was wearing a purple pair. The husband wasn't there, the wife started yelling that we had agreed on 165$ and the receipt was for $180 ... yes there is tax on them but I would take the $165. She then went on to say the deal was with her husband so to come back. This past Tuesday I passed by again after work with a copy of the receipt of the new pair, dropped it off with the wife and she said her husband would call me when he finished up at the other location; as they have several. Today is Friday .... No phone call nothing. I went back just now to ask where my money was, the wife said " take your shoes, there's nothing wrong with them" I couldn't believe it ... after all this time, now they didn't want to give me anything. They new my situation becuz I do it all the time to them, Typically in the past I had them laundered, but now I love how well Freddy dry cleans them. They do all their work on-site. Hands down the worst dry cleaner I've ever dealt with. The owners are unbelievably rude, unprofessional, and completely dismissive. They speak down to customers, act like basic questions are an inconvenience, and show no interest in providing good service. It's clear they have no understanding of customer care or how to run a professional business. My clothes came back in worse condition than I dropped them off--wrinkled, still stained, and in one case, slightly damaged. When I brought it up, they shrugged it off and offered no help. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so horrendous that I had to warn others. First off, they overcharge for EVERYTHING. A simple suit cleaning cost nearly double what I've paid elsewhere, and they tacked on additional fees with no explanation. When I questioned the bill, the employee at the counter was incredibly rude and dismissive, acting like I was the problem for asking basic questions. To make matters worse, the actual work was TERRIBLE. My suit came back with stains that weren't there before, and the pressing job looked like it was done by someone who had never seen an iron in their life. When I pointed out the issues, they refused to fix it and acted like I was being unreasonable. If you value your clothes, your money, and your sanity, go literally ANYWHERE else. Walking in the store, the first thing that welcomed me is the terribly warm body odor being dispensed by the very nice owner of the shop. I was referred to this store, so I hold this shop to a slightly higher standard than previous. This store does not use a Point Of Sell system so the owner hand wrote me a ticket, that brought me back to the 1920's. ...... Why the bad review? Tl;Dr, specifically asked for dry cleaning and clothing was wet cleaned, ruining the shirt. End of winter, I went to Jimmy and had a bunch of stuff dry cleaned. It came back in good condition. This time I went in to have 2 shirts and a pair of pants dry cleaned, plus one pair of pants hemmed. The items I wanted dry cleaned came back looking a bit faded, and one was completely ruined. The color bled through the shirt all over the place. Jimmy said he tried to get the stains out but couldn't, and it's very evident where he tried to get the stains out. The shirt is completely ruined. When he delivered the items to me, he blamed it on the item being from China (it's from India). I asked him what chemicals he used to dry clean and he refused to tell me, so I'm assuming he actually wet cleaned my items. I asked him like 10 times and he finally gave me a name but I'm pretty sure he wet cleaned. All of the items say "Dry Clean Only" and I specifically asked for dry cleaning. I talked to the manufacturer and they said none of the other customers have had this issue and that the clothing was processed to make sure color doesn't bleed. They confirmed that it if was dry cleaned it wouldn't have bled. Given the difficulty in getting a straight answer from Jimmy, I'm going to have to believe the manufacturer. The pants that were hemmed were done kinda poorly too. I was hoping to have a good dry cleaner and tailor all in one, but guess I'm going back to my tailor that's far away. Came here to get a bridesmaid's dress tailored and I will NEVER be back again. I work in customer service and have never written a poor review of a business in my life but I have to say what a TERRIBLE experience I had here. The owner could not possibly have been more rude or disgusting to me. The dress was way too large in the chest so I brought it to have it taken in. He haD me try on the dress, pinned it and said it would be ready in a week for $50. I came back and when I tried on the dress again it was SO tight I couldn't zip it closed. I explained there had been an error calmly and politely and asked to have it fixed. He wanted to charge me $30 and I said that was insane when I already paid $50 for a dress that was not usable. He brought it down to $15 but refused to go any lower. When I finally was able to pick up the finished product he told me it was my fault for GAINING WEIGHT and being FAT in the chest between the week I dropped it off and when it was done. They made me come back 4 times because they couldn't find a sweater I dropped off for dry cleaning. Almost a month after dropping off my sweater I return once more and the lady at the front desk rolls her eyes, as if i'm inconveniencing her, and calls "Jimmy" so I can speak with him. I've already spoken to him on the store phone multiple times before at this point and he always promised to call me the next day with an update and never does. After being extremely patient with them he tells me that it might be at a different store that he has and that I should give him another week to find it and that he would give me a call to let me know. I finally lost all patients and explained to him my frustration and finished by saying that he needs to reimburse me for my sweater because I never want to come back to this place again. I showed his wife at the desk the confirmation email I received after purchasing my $50 new sweater. He tells me that my sweater doesn't look worth $50 that he will give me $20 and there is no way that they can even give me the money anyways because they don't have cash in the store. I asked him how he could even know this if he doesn't even know what the sweater looks like and tat he is lying because there is a cash register right in front of me. I am a business owner myself and his excuses, lack of professionalism, and the way he treats his customers is unbelievable. After going completely off on him he finally gave me the money I asked for and told me that if he ever finds my sweater i'll have to give the $50 back to him. !Beware! if you are looking for and alterations or fixing something. Runaway to this cleaner "Taylor " place. I bring a dress for some details and the guy gave it back to me without do what I pay him to do. Hi supposed to change the zipper which I pay $40 dollars for and hi ending do something else. When I pick up my dress the dress was still o of my sewing machine.. He knew I need the dress for that evening and they not even iron my dresser, and plus the dresser comes with some stains. They altered where they don't supposed to. I was so frustrated because I have no other dress for that evening so. I have to run and buy an other one. I called and the men just said that he have a few tailor and don't know what they do. He asked me to bring the dress to fixed it up. Jimmy's Cleaners has done it again! In the past they have rescued a cocktail dress with a white bib from a red wine stain and mended more pairs of jeans I've worn out than I can count, at this point. I brought them a top made of pleather and cloth that another local dry cleaner refused to clean, and a quilted coat where the sleeve had torn away from the body at the seam. It had been so many years since I'd ripped the zipper on that coat's hood I'd forgotten it could even be used, but they spotted the damage right away and told me that could be repaired, as well. Now I have a beautifully cleaned top (believe me, it was a mess after a year+ at the bottom of my closet) and a coat with a new zipper that is good as new. The only complaint is that I had a bag dry cleaned and the vinyl straps came out very brittle and inflexible so that they crack if you try to bend them at all. I had a wonderful experience here! Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful work, and all done in under a week. I needed a bridesmaid's dress altered and it was not an easy task- the dress is beaded and could not be cut. The woman (so sorry I don't have her name!) hemmed in between the beads and individually folded up and stitched the beaded portions. There was a small fee for the extra work but it was affordable and absolutely worth it. It looks amazing! I don't know what I would have done without this personal touch. On top of that, they followed up with a phone call to make sure I wasn't charged twice due to a possible glitch with their credit card reader- I wasn't, but I appreciated the call. This is my new tailor for life. I stopped in a cleaners closer to my apartment on a Wednesday around 6 p.m. and was told the tailor would be in the next day. When I went back Thursday at 6 p.m., the woman told me the tailor was only in until 5 p.m. Would have been good to know that on Wednesday so I could have made alternate plans. I frantically searched Yelp looking for a tailor that might be open and able to alter a dress I needed on Saturday, and found Jimmy's Cleaners. I called up, and the woman who answered the phone told me if I could get my dress to them within 20 minutes, they could have it ready by Saturday. I sped-walked over and was greeted by very friendly folks. I put on the dress and the tailor marked it, all within about five minutes.
