WARNING: Hidden Damage, Misrepresentation, and a $30,000 Loss…read moreWe purchased a CanDream Inc's used motorhome from ArrKann RV (Rocky View) after being assured by Eva Moser and Brock Simmons that it was "like brand new," fully inspected, and in excellent condition. That was not true. On pickup -- after driving 800 km -- we found multiple obvious issues: torn mattress, missing parts, cracked and unsafe tires, leaking hot water tank, dead TV, electrical problems, and a large stain above the driver's seat that staff called "soap residue." This stain was later proven to be long-term water damage. Months later we were accidentally given CanaDream Inc's internal service history, which ArrKann RV never disclosed. It showed repeated roof leaks and repairs in the exact areas we questioned on day one. None of this was disclosed before the sale. The tires were especially alarming. Despite "passing" an Alberta inspection, they were cracked deep into the tread. Neither ArrKann Rv nor CanaDream Inc. could explain how the inspection signed off on them. We still never received a clear answer. What followed were repeated 860 km trips for repairs -- all at our own cost -- with the motorhome sitting unusable for months while leaks continued. Repairs were delayed, incomplete, or undocumented. We were denied copies of repair records because ArrKann RV and CanaDream Inc. claimed everything was handled through their "internal agreement." ICBC later informed us the motorhome was still registered to CanaDream, meaning ArrKann sold it before it was even properly transferred. After 14 months, when we tried to trade the unit in, an independent dealer found major structural roof damage and hidden repair work that made the unit worth far less. We lost over $30,000 because of undisclosed issues. Stay way from thesis dealerships if you want truth and honesty, you will only be deceived!

Needless to say, with the recent wildfire evacuations and travel advisories to not travel to Kelowna (two days before our flight), we were disappointed to have to cancel our trip. As we were coming from the U.S., there was simply too much to chance in making the journey. An overnight host in Kelowna told us not to come as he was evacuated, as well. The strict cancellation policy is completely understandable, but perhaps in this new normal of constant wildfires and the consequences of global warming, an updated, more flexible policy is in order, especially when emergency/national warnings and evacuations are implemented.

They have a variety of Motorhomes up to 30ft, we chose that one because they sleep 7 and only the large ones have a generator. It was large with microwave, stove shower no oven, Queen in back and 3 double beds. Personal care kit and bedding all come at extra charge we brought our own stuff! So when we picked it up service was fast and friendly, we did a walk around but unfortunately we didn't inspect it properly and it came damaged, but we weren't charged but still please look at everything closely inside and out!! Then they seemed to have to repair something or tighten something in bathroom? But again we didn't ask and they didn't test it before we left to make sure it was fixed!!! Well it apparently wasn't as when we arrived camping using water there was a major leak from back of toilet all over the floor, my husband tried tightening where he could see the leak but nothing. Then a nice worker at the campground came and had a look and used caulking, still no go we couldn't use water so we called 1 800 number provided, and they couldn't help or send anyone, or even trouble shoot???? We were told to go to nearest RV service place 3 hours away, but in middle of camping?? So we tried talking to a owner of campground and he was so awesome he helped us fix it!! If it wasn't for him our trip was ruined! So pleas pleas if you rent from here just make sure to check, I get things break but I'm sure we left with it already broken and they knew!!!!! They gave us a 2 day refund, and I did like the RV and price, but I am sure surprised at what happened! We just might buy our own to save the hassle!

There were cobwebs above my fridge, in between the stove fan and microwave, frass from the insects. On the floor, white slithery larva that would stick. There are actual marks on the floor where they are stuck and I know they don't burrow like your typical insect that does but you mideswell put them in that category because if the material is soft enough they will eat thru anything. my vacation was ruined !

They were so personable and easy to work with. They had so many helpful tips and were receptive and welcoming of comments and open to improvements. This was an excellent team, they had great recommendations for locations to visit both on our camping trip and while in town. I can't say enough good things about the knowledge and energetic Calgary team. I would highly recommend Escape camper vans. Their care and attention to detail for the van is very appreciated.
