I've been coming here for years to get my ramen and red dragon fruit fix. Tons of variety or fresh vegetables depending on the dish you are making. They also have a fresh and frozen fish market in the back so if you are sensitive to smells just be prepared. Also a large variety of cooking utensils, cookware and dishes. Some of the bigger knives you might have a hard time finding someplace else or online. Rows of drinks which i love getting the Mr Brown coffees or Ramune for my oldest. I have been meaning to check out this supermarket because it is super close to my house, and I finally had the chance! It is one of the true Asian Markets here in Omaha, with fresh food, fresh ingredients, tons of candy, chips, and frozen food as well. I was in awe of the rows and rows of ramen! First of all, a squeaky clean Asian market is pretty hard to come by. Most Americans balk at the smell as they walk in the door, pungent fish odor mixed with spices and ripe fruit. This is no exception. I guess I'm used to it, growing up walking the streets of chinatown and frequenting Asian markets alike as a child and adolescent. This market does the trick for 80- 90% of my Asian shopping needs. Sure, some of the meat cuts are frozen and I wish they were fresh, and yes sometimes they run out of veggies -what I need on that given week, but this is a great place to get the things I need to make traditional Asian dishes that the american grocery stores just dont sell. Its a great place to go if you are looking for various sauces and spices. I can always find my canned jarred and bottled cooking staples here. There is a seafood deli in the back and they also have large frozen cuts of meat that they store back there, you just have to ask (ie for bbq i asked for 20 LB of hanging tenders and its nowhere to be listed but yet he came back with a frozen rock of meat for me) I guess the moral of the story is if you want something and dont see it, ask if they have it in the back. This store has a lot of variety to offer. There is a definite smell in the store, but it's a seafood smell, so it's to be expected. For non-perishables, this store has a LOT of variety. It has a lot of Vietnamese, Filipino, and Chinese foods, unique ingredients, snacks, and many Ramen products. There is also a small Mexican section in the store. There are a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables here, and a lot of fish and seafood that you don't normally find in other stores. As with any store, you should look at your expiration dates. In the frozen section, there are several dumplings and wontons that were appealing. Every time that I've visited, the store is fairly busy, so I had to wait in line, but it goes fairly quick. I definitely feel it is worth a visit! read more

Wow - what a difference compared to the Asian Food Mart! Still the same gosh-awful smell. But otherwise, this place is MUCH larger, with a MUCH better selection. I went in for some Vietnamese ingredients and left with a bag full of frozen dim sum items. I'm wayyyyy to excited about that! They also have a side room with half Mexican items and half household items. Interesting and fabulous! I grabbed some extra chopsticks to go with my dim sum and my tasty little snacks - like those panda bears cookies filled with icing and the long cookie sticks to dip into more yummy icing. I may not be describing this well, but the general point is, this place is worth going to! You could wonder through here for an hour easily - in fact, I did, and was LATE from my lunch break. This place had everything I was looking for and more! I was looking for Likas Papaya soap (which I have been only able to find in Filipino stores), and this store had it! Also, they are open from 8AM to 9PM which is a plus. I always come here with the intention of only buying one thing, and end up with a shopping cart full of food! I was happy to see a decent amount of Filipino items here (Goldilocks Sio Pao and Ensaymada, Cornicks, V-Chips, to name a few...) and the HUGE selection of Vietnamese, Thai, ASIAN - noodles, sauces, canned goods...you name it, they probably have it! I noticed they import a good amount of Vietnamese goods from Orange County, CA, which is a plus because the quality of the food there is second to none. I frequent between here, Asian Food Mart, and Midwest Oriental Foods, but come here the most out of the three :) Docked 1 star for their super limited selection of fresh/frozen meats and being closed on Tuesday (seems to be a common practice in Vietnamese businesses here, and on the west coast). read more

Now this is the GO TO SPOT for your asian food needs in the Omaha area. They have all kinds of asian food supplies, from Filipino to Thai. If you have an asian recipe that calls for something you think you have no idea where the hell to get it at... come visit here, they will likely have it, if not ask the owner lady, she's really nice and helpful and will probably end up carrying the item in the future. e.g. lye water, yams, pandan extract, sweet rice, asian breads, gemmae bread, noodles, taro, whole shrimp, tea leaves, wide array of cooking mixes (curry, sinigang, adobo, sisig etc) It is fairly good place considering you are in the heart of the midwest. read more

Great vegan finds hidden here! Great source of jackfruit for Vegan BBQ. BBQ jackfruit is "all the rage" right now in the vegan community but sometimes finding canned jackfruit in BRINE and not SUGAR can be difficult. So when I am in town I pop into this store and stock up. Bonus-it is only $1.25 a can which is less than other stores that happen to carry it, and they had lots available. Additionally, they had WHOLE green and ripe jackfruit, so for maximum savings people can buy a whole green jackfruit and cut and freeze it themselves (if you can deal with the stickiness of the fresh fruit). The store is huge and had vegetarian (vegan) fish sauce, regular and baked tofu at reasonable prices. I saw several products that had vegetarian alternatives next to the animal flesh based ones. The staff is friendly. My favorite Asian grocery in Omaha. They've got a great selection of noodles, sauces, and canned goods and they carry just about everything you'd need to make your favorite vietnamese, chinese, korean, and thai recipes. Their selection of rice is great and they sell reasonably priced brown rice in bulk in the side room. They've also got a solid tea and drink selection. Not a ton of tofu and tempeh options available but it's well-priced. Their produce is a bit hit-or-miss in terms of freshness, but mainstays like lemongrass, yams, bean sprouts, and daikon are cheap and fresh. There are also some more rare offerings like banana leaves and durian, though I haven't tried either here. As noted in the other reviews, this place smells like an open fish market in Ho Chi Minh City but the scent wears off a few minutes and is worth enduring for the awesome selection. This place is packed with stuff, so reserve some time when you go here because the aisles are loaded with options. Each time I go I walk out with plenty of impulse buys and they ring up to about half of what you'd expect to pay at other grocery stores. Definitely check this place out. read more

We went in for two things and left with a bag. Huge selection of sauces, canned miscellaneous, and brightly wrapped sugar goods. They have a gigantic frozen dumpling selection. If you like dumplings it is worth the trip. There is a meat/seafood section but we stayed away. Other reviewers made note of the smell, and they are not kidding. I have been in numerous ethnic grocery stores and only one smelled worse. It was like walking in an outhouse, in the summer. So we didn't stay as long as I would have liked. I've always found this place to be interesting. Upon entrance the store has a both strong & distinct aroma comprised of both spice and seafood. Some are put off by the scent but I personally find it intriguing. This store has a wide variety of products that come from many different Asian countries - you can find products of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino, Thai & Laotian origins as well as other Asian countries I may have not listed. As you can guess, there is an abundance of Asian spices here. Here you can also find both fruit & seafood that is fairly uncommon here in Omaha. Lots of frozen meats & dumplings, as well as a Mexican section which I haven't looked into too much. Prices vary for everything - some things are reasonably priced while some tend to be on the high side. I would also recommend checking the expiration date on a lot of the things here because there does tend to be expired products here and there. Also I definitely don't recommend buying the Lobster Chips; those smelled & tasted horrendous. It does get fairly busy here and the lines at the checkout can get pretty compact with people, but other than that this place is still an interesting spot to visit. Fantastic stop for your ethnic culinary needs! Found most of what I wanted for my favorite Thai dish, and asked for help for the others - galangal was buried under a few other packaged produce items, and cilantro bundles weren't out, but easily acquired by the meat guys. It does not smell "bad" in the store as previously referenced here and at other ethnic markets, it just doesn't smell like a sterile American supermarket. Anyone who has been grocery shopping in most other parts of the world (or even the L St Hy-vee) will be familiar with the difference. Thought it was a great and well-stocked venue for all my needs! If you are looking for any nonperishable Asian items go here. Be weary of the perishables and check for freshness. I am very picky so I asked the workers what days they get their veggies and seafood, which is on Wednesdays usually. I talked to the fish people in the back and ask them which one they just got in. I got some sea bass to cook at home and it's the freshest fish I've eaten in Omaha. The stock people have been really friendly an helpful when I had troubles finding an item, which is hard because they have a ton of stock..it's overwhelming even for me who knows what everything is. If you are of ethnic decent and are used to going to ethnic grocery stores, you will find what you need and fresh fish on Wednesdays. If you are NOT, don't go here because you will be shocked by the cleanliness level (or lack thereof) and I would suggest going to the Asian market on dodge...much cleaner. read more

I have found my asian market in omaha. It has a variety of necessary asian ingredients to make any meals here. It has more of vietnamese and chinese vibe here if that's what you're looking for. The prices are fair. However, it isn't in the best location. I would not go here at night. I will definitely venture here at least once a week for grocery. read more

Agree with others' comments - check the expiration dates and make sure that you do not plan on returning/exchanging any of the items you purchase. The owner is super strict, with zero flexibility, on the 7 day dry goods-only return policy. The Asian Market off of Dodge Street and N 76th Street is in a safer neighborhood; the store is much more spacious, better lit, cleaner overall with ample parking and friendlier staff. read more

They have frozen dim sum. FROZEN DIM SUM!!! I've lived in Omaha for 10 months searching for this and it's here. They also have about 6 aisles worth of noodles, stocks, sauces, marinades, veggies, small bakery selection, frozen stuff, fish/seafood (some live stuff even), indian food, mexican food, kitchen utensils and plates... aka- a great selection of stuff.
