My husband and I were in a tough spot after our original movers (different company) canceled the day of. Matt was able to step in and get everything coordinated quickly. They are clearly a very organized company that has a strong process in place and knows how to run an efficient move. The movers themselves were professional, efficient, and careful with our belongings. You can tell they know what they were doing and take pride in their work. We had a lot of very heavy and/or delicate furniture and tech items (TV, speaker system, etc.) and there was no damage done to anything...I've never had a move where that happened. The whole experience was a great value overall, especially knowing everything was handled so well and given how capable and reliable the team is. We will definitely be using Gentleman Movers again. Best moving experience I've had by far.

We did a full service move - pack, move and unpack - and they were wonderful. They were patient and careful (Matt and Brian are the sweetest - and fast packers!) and made sure my parents' bed was assembled for them to sleep on in their new house. They answered our questions, explained the whole process and we needed to move up our move by a week, last minute, and they happily accommodated our schedule. Moving day arrived and it was one of the hottest days of the year! They said they would be at the house between 8:30 and 9:30, they showed up at 8:25 and immediately got to work. The guys hustled and had our belongings packed and ready to go faster than expected. The Movesmith also agreed to stop at our storage unit on the way to the new house and load that up for us as well. The crew worked hard all day, they took excellent care of our belongings and were careful not to mark up our newly painted walls. My wife and I were blown away by the service we received and the price was less than I expected. The owner even stopped by at one point to see how things were going. You cannot ask for better service. If you need movers, The Movesmith is the way to go. I cannot recommend them enough.

They had asked me…read morefor a $300 deposit to hold our date which was a Wednesday in October (certainly not the busiest days for movers). This should have been my first red flag because no other mover I contacted requested a deposit to hold the date. When I told them I needed to cancel our move they told me they had to keep my deposit because I only gave them 2 weeks notice instead of the 3 that they require. I had literally booked them the week before. Their contract states that the return of the deposit is "discretionary" I asked why they were choosing to keep my deposit and they said they had to turn down other work, so I simply asked them to provide me with proof of the work they turned down and they stopped responding to me. I just think this is a really terrible thing to do considering they did zero work for us, had 2 two weeks notice and chose to keep my money instead of returning it. Please don't book them unless you are 100% certain that your move will happen.
