They had asked me…read morefor a $300 deposit to hold our date which was a Wednesday in October (certainly not the busiest days for movers). This should have been my first red flag because no other mover I contacted requested a deposit to hold the date. When I told them I needed to cancel our move they told me they had to keep my deposit because I only gave them 2 weeks notice instead of the 3 that they require. I had literally booked them the week before. Their contract states that the return of the deposit is "discretionary" I asked why they were choosing to keep my deposit and they said they had to turn down other work, so I simply asked them to provide me with proof of the work they turned down and they stopped responding to me. I just think this is a really terrible thing to do considering they did zero work for us, had 2 two weeks notice and chose to keep my money instead of returning it. Please don't book them unless you are 100% certain that your move will happen.

Jonah - the owner - wrote back quickly and quoted me a very decent price after I gave him a general list of what we owned and needed moved. They arrived the morning of our move and got right to work. We had many boxes withouth lids and a lot of odds and ends not even in boxes and they just picked them up and made it work in their truck. When we got to our new place, they asked us where each and every item should go. They offered to move our stuff around so we could make it fit best in the house. Our boxspring was too wide to make it up the small stairs and so they popped out an upstairs window and pulled it through from the second floor!!! I was scared it wouldn't work or they would damage the window, but these guys are pros and it worked perfectly. The were done in exactly 2 hours and charged the exact quoted price. Besides all of their hard work, they were SO POLITE and friendly. I would highly highly recommend this company to anyone moving in the Philly area. UPDATE 6/19/14 - I just used the A Team guys AGAIN to move from Philadelphia to Hoboken for a new job in NYC and I cannot stress this enough -- these guys are THE BEST!!!!! Seriously, don't even bother calling another service to compare. They packed up my house and also helped me drop off a bed at my parents house in the suburbs and then moved the rest of my stuff into a 3rd floor walk up on the hottest day this year. I had one recommendation for Ambrose and she was right. This move involved two days, one with stuff going to a daughter and the other downsizing to an apartment from a house. (I got an additional 10% off because I mentioned my recommender. Now for the beyond part. There was a little damage to a lamp and at their offering, they found the exact product and had it shipped to my new partment. No haggle or fuss. They took full reponsibility. Some other mover suggeted take outr special moving insurance. With Ambrose did not need it. Good luck with your move, they did help take some stress away. One other thing: I was not ready for our first sceduled day and they were very accomadating to change the day, and did not charge me any additional fees for that service.
