My husband and I were in a tough spot after our original movers (different company) canceled the day of. Matt was able to step in and get everything coordinated quickly. They are clearly a very organized company that has a strong process in place and knows how to run an efficient move. The movers themselves were professional, efficient, and careful with our belongings. You can tell they know what they were doing and take pride in their work. We had a lot of very heavy and/or delicate furniture and tech items (TV, speaker system, etc.) and there was no damage done to anything...I've never had a move where that happened. The whole experience was a great value overall, especially knowing everything was handled so well and given how capable and reliable the team is. We will definitely be using Gentleman Movers again. I found the customer service at the end of the move unacceptable. They moved a bed for me. Took it apart, when they got here they realized they left the foot board behind. They tried to blame it on the other movers who were there, And then told me they'd have to charge me tp go back and get it. I called the owner who did not offer me anything. I definitely expected credit of somekind. The owner offered to go get it. But it was too late. They came highly reccomended. But I won't use them again. read more

I was frankly pretty disappointed in my experience with this company. They came highly recommended by my parents, who hired them to move out of their very large home. It seemed like it would have been a pretty big undertaking for them, so helping me move out of my 450 sq ft apartment wouldn't be too bad, right? I guess I should have requested the specific crew that my parents used because the one I got would complain about a lot of things I had done to prep for this move - mind you, I had called in advance and asked if there was anything specific I needed to know, or do to make the move easier. I'm kind of a people pleaser so I worked really hard to do anything I thought might have been helpful to make their job easier. Some of them complained about my location (Manayunk) which I understand isn't the easiest moving location, but they knew in advance where my apartment was located and what kind of apartment I had. They complained about the size of my moving boxes. I got them slightly on the bigger side because I thought it'd be easier than making more trips up and down the stairs (a lot of my furniture was bigger/heavier than the boxes yet one of them complained the boxes were too big and heavy?) Two pieces of my furniture were unfortunately not super well made and didn't travel well which is totally on me, but they made sure to complain pretty heavily that "all of my furniture was falling apart". When I apologized they kind of did a 180 and said they had equipment to easily deal with it and that it wasn't a big deal? They also complained about the elevator in the new apartment and asked why I hadn't reserved it. I didn't know that was something I had to do because I've never moved to an apartment with an elevator before. I had let them know the new apartment had an elevator, so when I made that call to ask if there was anything I should do to prepare in advance, I would think that'd be something worth mentioning. My adjustable standing desk doesn't work after the move - not sure what happened there... My bed frame is unstable after the move one of my drawers is missing a handle. I'm usually a people person, and tried to go out of my way to be accommodating. I love working with people, and especially when trying to hire a service want to do anything I can to make their lives easier. but by the end of this I could not wait for them to leave. The side comments they kept littering into every conversation about things I should have done just made me feel awful, especially after how hard I genuinely tried to make their lives easier despite getting no information on how to do so. I was quoted about 680 and ended up paying around 980. It did not feel worth the aggravation, stress, or awful feeling I had after they left. read more

If you're looking for movers, do NOT use this one. One bed move, minimal furniture, literally across the street, was quoted $500 and ended up being almost $1000. The movers were so slow, and many of my items to sustained various amounts of damage. Really regret using this company. read more

Used the "gentleman" movers in summer 2022 for our move. Was charged $4,500+ (after being quoted ~$2,700) for moving our stuff from a 2400 sq ft home to storage 20 mins away, 1 month of storage, and then driving the storage 10 mins up the road and unloading into our new home. Movers stole from us and the owner, Dave, denied that this could even be feasible and said he wouldn't believe it unless we "provided video evidence" - which is insane. He then left me multiple voicemails threatening to take all our belongings out of storage to "take somewhere else." Icing on the cake was on move in day he sends 3 guys, one who was old and smoking cigarettes all day and didn't lift anything. He just stood there "monitoring" the two other guys yet I had to pay for his presence as a third worker! He tried to talk to my husband and I all day while we were trying to unpack. The best part is most of our boxes which were marked "fragile" arrived completely smashed. At the end the old guy stood there like a mob boss forcing me to write a check because he knew i'd take issue with the fact I was being charged $2,600 AGAIN for one day of moving. I was quoted $300-$360 to unload my 7-foot POD into their truck, transport my furniture & boxes less than 6 miles (about 15 minutes drive) and load them into my apartment. Their minimum was 2 hours for $300. I knew they had another short (2-hour) job that morning, and was told to expect them around 11am. They didn't call until they were on their way, nearly three hours after we expected them. They showed up at our POD and spent less than 30 minutes unloading it into their truck. (My husband says they did work quickly, when they worked.) Then, instead of taking our stuff directly to our apartment, they went to yet another job. So my husband had to sit around for another 3 hours waiting for our things to arrive at the apartment. Who does that? No explanation about why that other job was more important than finishing our job and wasting my husband's entire day for a job that would have been done in under 2 hours. To add insult to injury, they then demanded $430 without an explanation for the difference. Meanwhile, they damaged my husband's desk too, with just an "oops, my bad" and no apology. My husband paid them the $430, which I wouldn't have, because he just wanted to be done with them. We expect to need movers in the area at least twice more as we relocate from Portland, OR, to the Philadelphia suburbs, and we definitely will NOT be hiring this company again. read more

Absolutely the best! Matt and Lawrence moved my parents' antique dining-room furniture and took better care of it than my parents did. First they took out the six chairs. Then, slowly and methodically they disassembled the table and hutch. Then they wrapped everything with padding, then taped the wrapping, and then carefully carried to their van each piece. I watched in amazement as they performed their work; it was like surgery. And the price was reasonable, too. I recommend Krmpotich movers without reservation. read more

It's important for me to say that I have never before written a negative review about any person or organization until now. The owner is detached from his business with extremely poor follow up, and customer service skills (you have to follow up with him repeatedly). He never responds to texts or voice mails, you have to catch him live on phone, When I originally contacted him, I specifically scheduled an AM move because I get up at 3 am for work. I was told the night before that they would be there at 10:00 am, they showed up around 2:30 PM. Here's the rest of the story They broke the thermostat in the new apartment, they damaged two pieces of quality furniture, and they LOST a table leg, that they had to replace. Originally the son/manager told me that they put the leg back on the table ????? When the owner came to deliver, and install the new leg, he brought only a cheap multi head screw driver, and was unable to install the leg that they had lost, leaving with the responsibility of having to drill and install the leg that they LOST myself. And he was unapologetic about it. They charged me $150 for special handling of a clock that they didn't know how to handle. This is after I specifically asked the moving manager/son on location the day of the move if he knew how to handle it, NO problem was his response. The reality is, he had no idea what he was doing, and at the end of the move he wanted me to reinstall the weights after he couldn't do it. I told him you took them off, you put them back on, so he face timed someone on his phone for instructions, but they never installed them properly because the weights wouldn't drop, and the clock movements didn't move. They severely damaged a high quality desk and never advised me that they had done so until I went to my storage locker and saw it myself. At the end of the move the manager /Son refused to take a club chair down to my storage bin in the basement of apartment building that he had just moved me into (which has an elevator). read more

Worst movers in the business, almost all glass wear was broken, furniture scratched. They drink on the job, we found empty beer cans in are boxes and nobody in are house drinks. They have no idea how to run a business. We still can't find stuff, they probably took it home. read more

I will start off positive and say that the movers themselves are hardworking and friendly. They are also gentlemen as their motto advertises. However, the business owner is an absolute amateur. He failed to provide the necessary equipment and logistics for what should have been a textbook moving day. For example, he sent a 16 foot truck for a 1,920 square foot home. This had me, my brother and my father using our own vehicles to pick up the slack. Eventually amateur David showed up with a soccer mom minivan and managed to take a minuscule amount of stuff, drop it off outside our new house without our knowledge and then had the gall to charge another $150. Ha! He added insult to his own injury. This man is incompetent and I highly recommend thinking twice before choosing this company. May this review motivate him to get his business practices in order. read more

DON'T DO IT. These people scheduled a move with us with an arrival time of 12-1 PM, and showed up hours later with no excuses other than,, "Yeah, we are a little late." While they were here, I'll say they did better than I thought they would at not destroying furniture, but this was only one piece. If we had had a whole house move, we would have never made it. They didn't return message, didn't communicate they were running late, and had no real response to being told this was probably a good idea. The movers from Krmpotich were amazing. There are three guys that have moving down to a science, they work together as a team. They made the process of leaving my home after 39 years easy and less stressful. The owner forgot to send wardrobe boxes, but they had it under control right away. Took my furniture apart and put it back together better than before. Every step of the way they each had their own individual way of keeping me calm. Because of my nervous energy, I kept trying to help. I highly recommend this group of movers, the price is reasonable. He came out the next day, moved everything I needed, stored it until I got my leak and resulting damage fixed and then brought everything back safe and in one piece.
