This is world class! -Here are some of the amenities: a business center, a teen center, a children's center, a historical center, private rooms to reserve, a conference room, a quiet reading room, an area in the lobby you can eat and talk, and much, much more! -I've found the library ee's friendly and helpful. The overall vibe is good. Lots of families, students, and older folks--a hive of activity. Highly recommended!

I love our library! Despite being an older building, it is very well maintained and feels like a…read morenew structure. It offers a special teen section where anyone can peruse for a book, but only teens can sit and enjoy the dimmed and subdued atmosphere. This is quite the opposite for the bright and open children's section with a massive offering of books for the littles, ages 0 and up. Board books, picture books, short bed time stories, classic fairy tales, and the longer fare you might remember from elementary and middle school. Also with on this section, you will find a large meeting space for groups and readings, and a smaller play room you can book for play dates or just to get your gaggle of kids out of the house. They also sponsor the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program as a push to promote parent involvement in their kids' early literacy. I haven't used the facility's other meeting rooms and study carousels, but they have much to offer the community.

While the young female who assisted me was courteous enough, her female staffer seated next to her gave me the cold shoulder when I attempted to just share a memory of mine regarding bell bottom pants [ As she was wearing] she never replied to me, her lack of engagement was troubling as she gave me the impression that senior citizens are a 'problem' for her. Or that she's too good to briefly engage in a subtle manner with senior citizens.

There are a ton of plants all over so the outside is brought in- my favorite. The children's section is behind doors to the main library where kids can play and read. The library also has a lovely shaded courtyard where you can read. Behind the library is a very large playground. It was so nice and clean and beautiful- there were restrooms, too. I will definitely be back with my daughter- this leaves a lot to be desired from my local library.

It's easy to pass up the Universal City Public Library because it's small and appears to be…read moreattached to a school. UCPL has always come through for me when I need to do a last minute print or scan if I'm away from home. The staff is from another time, a time where people actually have a mad passion for books and providing for the community (I love this). They offer many after school activities for students and whenever I'm there the computers and study rooms are filled with students finishing papers and working on homework. The technology is a bit outdated, older computers with a tricky log-in system but the older gentleman who mans the front desk will gently do it for you. Don't let the smoky smell scare you off, they have a huge collection of audio books (my jam), VHS(lol)/DVD's, and newly released books. I guess libraries don't have a certain smell, the downtown library smells like an old boot, while the New Braunfels library actually smells like a book. The highlight of my trip was getting my own old-fashioned purple laminated library card! Check it out and support your local library!

The students that work at this library have too much time on their hands. Please explain the logic…read morethat one designated section of the library is safe to eat in and have masks down but the others are not. The fourth floor is magically safer than all the others? I received NO warning while drinking water and was told I had to leave immediately because I had my mask down. I wasn't asked to pull it up, I was told to leave immediately. Absolutely insane that I can't have my mask down for 15 seconds to drink water and be kicked out without any warning. There is no federal, state, or COUNTY law that mandates masks be worn. What if I did not have the resources I do and the library was the only safe place for me to study? There is a gross over reach of power going on. I understanding wanting people to wear masks but to kick someone out completely without a single warning or asking to fix the problem first is insanely uncalled for. Please adapt better policies.
