My children waited patiently for years--FOUR years--holding onto those promises, but they turned out to be empty. The owner, Alex, is a gifted coach on the mat. But unfortunately, he was the very person who made false promises about growth and competition opportunities. When I showed up to one of these "intended" opportunities (that never materialized), he spoke to me in an aggressive and disrespectful way right in front of my children. I was shaken, I had respected him and the gym so much. I seen him hurt other families but I never thought he would come for us since we were so freaking loyal. My husband went back two days later to address it directly. He told Alex clearly: (1) Do not ever speak to my wife like that again, and (2) We finally see that the opportunities we were promised will never come, so after years of loyalty, we are leaving. Alex seemed way more respectful to my husband and even wanted to work things out. The reality is that Cage Combat only participates in a handful of very small tournaments each year--sometimes just 4 total--and most often there wasn't even competition in my kids' brackets because they were tiny unworthy tournaments. My children were ready for more, eager to grow, and deserved the chance to test themselves, but it was simply not allowed. After my husband spoke up, I had a meeting with Rosalie. That three-hour conversation was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life. She dominated the entire discussion with negativity, spoke poorly about nearly every one of my friends / members from the gym, and even made disparaging remarks about my daughter exploring another gym. Worst of all, after we decided to move on, she spread rumors about my 14-year-old daughter (and other teens) a girl who had given her whole heart, sweat, and loyalty to this gym. To hear from at least 20 different people that she was the subject of Rosalies gossip was beyond disgusting. I think she did it to try and save face& blame us for the falling out. But those that took a peak in to the truth seen through her scandalous ways. I texted Rosalie directly, asking her not to ever speak about my family again, but she continued and even escalated to salacious slander about other members!!!! It was beyond disgusting what she said and I wont dare mention it on the internet. I consulted an attorney over the situation and they agreed that Rosalie& Alex plus some of their staff (Jacky according to Rosalies statements) were in fact committing defamation. Ultimately, I chose to move forward and not look back at their cowardice ways. I enrolled my children at a new gym across the bridge. Since leaving, the opportunities have been absolutely incredible--far beyond what we were told was possible. I thank God for lifting the veil so my kids could have the opportunities and support they have now. Looking back, I realize I stayed too long because of misplaced loyalty and because I wanted to believe in them. But the truth is, this gym operates with a cult-like manipulation that blinds you until you finally step away. I can go on for hours of the many many incidences but I will just end saying to look at the facts; both Alex and Rosalie have very volatile relationships or zero relationships with our local likeminded community and their own families! I am writing this months later because I believe it may answer some questions that other members may be dealing with themselves. If that is you, you are not crazy and I hope this helps!!! My advice to other parents: if your children want real opportunities to grow, compete, and be supported in a healthy environment, look elsewhere.

My family was involved here for five years, during which we experienced numerous concerning issues with the owners and overall environment. The atmosphere has consistently been unprofessional. The owners, Alex and Rosalie, often spoke negatively about staff and members, creating division among families instead of fostering a supportive community. At times, it felt more like a "cult-like" environment than a positive place for children to train. One of the most troubling experiences was when Rosalie spread a harmful rumor about my family. When confronted, she shifted blame on members in the gym and changed her story multiple times rather than taking responsibility. We also experienced poor organization and dismissive behavior. Before a major tournament in Las Vegas, we repeatedly asked about the required uniforms, only to receive conflicting answers and delays. When we voiced concern about the timing, we were labeled as "throwing a fit" instead of receiving professional communication and support. As a parent, I was most disappointed in how my children were treated. When they began wrestling outside the gym to strengthen their skills and prepare for school sports, Alex would corner, bully and pressure my kids, making them feel guilty rather than encouraged. This kind of behavior has been harmful to my young athletes who should be supported in their growth. Skill advancement also appeared tied more to financial gain than true readiness. My children were promoted to yellow belts despite not being prepared, which became painfully clear in tournaments where they were put at risk. Not to mention, we could ONLY go to the tournaments the gym told us to go to, which was only about 4 small tournaments per year. Thus making brackets so small, my kids never had anyone to compete against, giving them lack of training experience. Safety and development should never take a back seat to profit. There were also frequent hidden costs, mandatory purchases, and obvious favoritism toward families who spent the most money. Those who did not were treated very differently. In addition, I had only boys train at this gym & I observed a lack of genuine support for female athletes, which was especially disappointing. Overall, the gym prioritized profit and control over professionalism, fairness, and the well-being of its students. Instead of feeling encouraged and inspired, my family often felt manipulated and discouraged. This is not what a martial arts community should represent.

The first two reviews were right on. I called up the gym at 8am and spoke to Alison who told me there was a 9am and a 10:30am class that I could drop into. This week everyone was working on qualifying for the Crossfit Games so that seemed a little intimidating, but having been to quite a few classes I decided to go in. The 10:30am Mobility class was a yoga, stretching & joints type of class. Everyone was really open, friendly and positive. We went around and said names because 2 or 3 of us were new faces and then we went over warm ups and breaking down how to do the qualifers. It was very easy for me to jump right in and feel at home, I was able to ask everyone all my Q's about the Games, qualifying, the foundation classes and how they got involved with Crossfit. I even learned some new lingo when they asked me what "box" did I normally go to. What I was really interested to see and inspired by, was how diverse the class was. There were so many different age groups at the qualifer. High school to retirement. There so many different fitness levels as well. Some people were modifying the WOD to fit their beginner/limited ability and some people were pushing themselves past their PRs, some people were seeing where they ranked in the Crossfit Games qualifer just for fun and some were really pushing themselves to possibly go to regionals. Really a great group of people and coaches who definitely fit the Crossfit culture. They tell you to relax and push you based on your individual needs. And by the time I was done I was getting high fives and words of encouragement like everyone else even though I was just a drop in. They didn't let me leave feeling like just a drop it. So I WILL BE BACK. I'm glad I came in and High Def will definitely be my Crossfit home away from home. Highlights: They have a kids playroom so mom and dad can workout, watch your things because the kids may get into them lol (one little girl was looking for a cough drop in everyone's bag), plenty of parking, it's located on Poplar Street near 395 and Main. You can see the storefront of Unit 6 right from the street Bldg A or B, plenty of parking, there's no check in desk so just walk in and ask for a coach or call ahead if it's your first time.

But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

I am deeply disappointed with the environment at this studio, specifically the Oak Hills location (under new leadership). Instructors have not addressed serious concerns, including parents' side‑coaching during training and the encouragement of overly aggressive behavior on the mat. These practices undermine the values of respect, discipline, and safety that martial arts are supposed to teach. Parents should be encouraged to support a positive learning environment, focusing on skill development and respect rather than promoting aggression. Allowing sideline coaching and aggressive conduct only distracts from proper training and puts students at risk. I initially raised these concerns with the front desk staff, but it was clear they were not communicated to leadership. When I later addressed the issues directly with the owner-Dan, his response was dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than taking my concerns seriously, he told me that if I didn't like it, I could move on to a different studio. He even stated that he could not guarantee my son's safety on the mat. While I understand karate is a contact sport, leadership has a responsibility to minimize risks and address unsafe practices, not dismiss them. Most concerning, the owner told an established member to leave without any respect for their long-standing business or the referrals I had provided. This shows a disregard not only for safety but also for the loyalty and trust of the community that supports the studio. This attitude demonstrates a lack of concern for student safety, parental input, and the integrity of the program. Martial arts should foster discipline, confidence, and respect. But that requires instructors and leadership who prioritize professionalism and safety!! Unfortunately, this studio failed to meet those standards. At the end of the day, it operates like any other business focused on making money rather than providing safety, skills, professionalism, or good customer service. read more

My husband and I are very happy to have our children apart of Speakman's New Breed Martial Arts in Oak Hills, CA. We've seen such a positive change in just the few months they've been going to karate. It has helped our kids become more focused, confident, take responsibility, become more active, while also teaching them self-defense. Our kids look forward in going to karate each week! Dan Pribble was very helpful when we signed up in July 2015 and he's always there to answer any questions we may have. Our kids were able to come in and do the free trail to see if they liked it, before committing. My husband and I only wished we would have started our kids here years sooner. Dan and his staff have been nothing but amazing! All the instructors are there wanting to help teach each child to be and do their best. In the 3 months with our kids being here, we've seen so much of a change in our kid's attitudes it's been a blessing! Our kids have become more helpful around the house, we don't fight with them to do their homework and they want to succeed in all that they do. I would definitely recommend this Martial Arts Studio for anyone who is looking or needing help with teaching their child self-respect, discipline and how to stay focused. read more

I stand by my 5 STAR rating for New Breed Martial Arts it is...... Handsdown...... THE BEST martial arts school around!! My 7 year old son has been taking classes at this facility since December 2014 and WE LOVE IT! I truly cannot say enough good things about Mr. Pribble and his dedicated staff. They are AMAZING and the students are all so positive, motivated, genuinely nice people who all help and support each other. My son enjoys learning the different moves and definitely benefits from the self discipline that comes with the classes as well as the positive changes that this has brought about in my child's ability to focus his strength, coordination, respect for others, and his discipline. I encourage you to come in and see for yourself, It's worth the price because they are a well established facility. I am usually a runner, but was looking for something a little different. I found New Breed Mixed Martial Arts on the recommendation of a friend. She had been taking cardio-kickboxing classes there and her son was involved in the kenpo program. She gave both classes high ratings, so I decided to try it out for myself. The first thing I noticed was the people. Everyone was so nice, welcoming and encouraging. One of the hardest things for me is to try out a new class with people that won't look twice at you. This was not the case here. Dan Pribble, the head instructor, ran the kickboxing class. Let me just say, it was one of the hardest classes I have taken! It was totally different then what I was used to, but I loved it. It challenged me and was actually fun! I will be going back regularly and would encourage anyone to try it out. Love New Breed!!! The owners Dan and Nichol are amazing trainers along with the rest of their staff. If your not getting a good workout at the gym or it's boring and you just end up leaving after 30 minuets cause your just over the repetitiveness of the gym life style go to New Breed you won't regret it if your looking for a good workout. I'm in the kickboxing class and their always mixing it up so your not doing the same old boring repetitive thing every day like you do at the gym elliptical,treadmill some light weight lifting gets so boring. It's way better to be part of a class environment it's way more motivating and everyone is really cool in the class no need to feel intimidated to try it out. We have been with New Breed Martial Arts for 2 years now and my son LOVES IT!!! His confidence has grown, my shy boy isnt so shy any more. The instructors are amazing with the students! My son has made so many friends here! We have seen so much improvement in my sons balance since joining New Breed Martial Arts! Back in 2016 at a tournament a group of level 3 students (at the time he was a in level 2) came and sat ring side and supported, cheered and even coached him in his sparring match, I was taken back by these boys support! Over the summer my son scrimmage another team who happened to have another student from Kenpo, both played there hearts out and both showed respect for each other during their scrimmage! I can't say enough positive things about New Breed Martial Arts and the impact Mr. Pribble and staff have had on my son's confidence and discipline. Yes, it isn't cheap. However, you are paying for quality. We have been to other facilities in the area that are dirty and chaotic. If you want your child to become a blackbelt over night, then you aren't thinking correctly. To put it bluntly, I have seen blackbelts from other studios and black belts from this studio- there is a world of difference in ability. Even the Junior Blackbelts at New Breed could wipe the floor with some of the instructors at other studios. The training is above and beyond. Quite frankly, compared to what some of these other facilities charge, this is a bargain for what you get. I highly recommend New Breed without reservation. read more

I can't say enough about this place. My 3 kids have been in the Kenpo classes for 2 years now, I just signed my youngest up for tiny tigers and I do the fitness kickboxing class as well for 2 years. I thought I was just signing my kids up for a karate class to try, just something to do and get them more active, I didn't know we were going to become part of a Kenpo family. They focus on character and discipline all while having fun. My kids have become more confident and secure, growing out of their shyness. Everyone in the studio is encouraging and friendly, and it's always a clean and welcoming environment. The fitness class is very challenging and encouraging. My son really enjoys the classes here. The instructors are very good with the children. The classes are fun while still focusing on instruction. Another impressive quality of New Breed is that they also promote teaching the kids about good character; about respect for themselves and their parents and peers. They also learn good sportsmanship and how to handle competition. The kids always receive positive reinforcement and genuinely seem to enjoy the classes. My son has been with New Breed for many years now and I couldn't be more thankful. Mr Garrett is a phenomenal instructor and is one of the most genuine people I've ever met. I started the kick boxing class almost 3 months ago and it's the hardest most challenging workout I've ever done !! I even dropped my gym membership of 4 years because 1.I didn't see much results and 2. I've never sweat so much in my life !!! I'm slowly seeing my body transform and I love it and I'm addicted to this class ! Dan is a phenomenal teacher along with his wife Nicole that also gives a very intense class as well and they both allow no slacking but at the same time the most encouraging ! My three boys have been training here just shy of two years and we love it! I've seen each of them grow in strength, agility, & confidence thanks to Mr. Pribble and the dedicated staff of instructors here. The boys' dad and I appreciate how clean the facilities are and all the opportunities for growth (testing, tournaments, monthly challenges) this school provides. My son has been coming here for almost a year now and we couldn't be happier. Master Dan Pribble and his staff are amazing with the kids. They provide structure, discipline and encouragement which is what all kids need in any sport. My son's confidence and ability to focus has improved greatly since he's been coming here. Myself and my Brothers have been students of New Breed MMA, for over 6 years. The head Instructor, Dan Pribble, has excellent knowledge of self defense, Mixed Martial Arts, Jiu Jitsu, and stand up fighting. We have been coming here for 2 months now and my son absolutely loves it. The teachers are patient, kind and interact well with the kids. The only drawback for me personally is that the classes are so full (speaks volumes for them though). Some nights are standing room only to watch your kids. I do like how they let you reserve your spot in the class a week in advance. The app is easy to use and convenient. All in all we are happy here and I can't wait to see how my son progresses over time! read more

My oldest has been training here for almost 7 years, and my youngest has been here for 2 years now. My oldest has a stream of self-confidence that I knew has been because of her experience with New Breed. My youngest is Autistic and it has never been an issue with the instructors to work with him. My children have been coming to New Breed Martial Art Studio for almost a year now, and both and I couldn't be happier! The instructors are engaging, super fun and extremely kind to all the kids. At the end of class they have mat chat with all the children about little life lessons. My daughter is now advanced yellow belt and since day one we have had nothing but a wonderful experience. Not to mention I stay and watch how they work with not only my kid but others as well.
