I've been to the Myrtle Beach area many times and I've never come in here. I fully regret it now. Outside of where I live, this is the best buffet I've been to hands-down. Plenty of parking outside. Clean restaurant with lots of cool decor. The staff are amazing. Our waitress checked on as every few minutes to either clean the table or get us drink drinks. The food is amazing. Lots of different choices. My kids are very picky. They found a bunch of food they could eat. They have the regular buffet, sushi, bar, and hibachi. Lots of choices with the sushi and hibachi. I went up a few times to hibachi to try the different sauces with different meat options. Some great desserts and ice cream also. Prices for the buffet are affordable even for a big family. I will 1000% return when I'm back in Myrtle Beach. read more

The best Chinese buffet my husband and I have been to since COVID. We decided to try this one last October on vacation and it was good, many options to choose from. We decided to try again on vacation this time was even better, the habachi grill was delicious cooked perfectly. . The fried rice is not overcooked, great flavors on buffet not watered down and freshly stocked. I don't eat sushi but it looks as if people were enjoying it. Service is excellent, friendly watiers. The only thing I would have liked was shredded carrots and cabbage added to the the habachi grill bar. We would definitely go back. read more

Sushi did not look appealing with very red fish eggs on top of some, while other sushi was irregular in size with more rice than fish. It looked like a first grader made some of them. Dinner should have a better variety of crabmeat dishes but all 3 looked the same. Sesame chicken & Gen Tso's chicken were very "soupy" with excess sauce. read more

This used to be like so many big buffets: You know what you're getting into, it's okay, but you feel kind of icky afterward (not physically, just that the food wasn't that good). But NOW...I don't know what's going on, but it just gets better and better. The staff has ALWAYS been very friendly and prompt, but the FOOD (which was never bad) is better and better every time I go. The selections seem to be increasing, and each one is good. We had not attempted this establishment up to this date. Decided to give it a try since the parking is always full. Now we know why. The soups we tried were all quite good. Won ton, egg drop and hot and sour. The pot stickers, sui Mai and bao were all just ok. The chicken wings were very good. As was the pepper steak and chicken sweet and sour were good. Food was excellent and properly heated. I cannot think of one food that I might have wanted that was not on the buffet. Everything I tried - and I tried A LOT - was just perfect. I would see many employees keeping all the trays refilled so that none of the trays were ever totally empty. The buffet price was very reasonable, and I noted the take-out per pound price was super reasonable had I elected to do that also. They have a seniors price which I was able to use. Hey back again with a long anticipated review. I have been here in Myrtle Beach now since May of last year and I have wanted to try the New China Buffet here in Surfside, SC since I moved here. Every time I would get ready to go, the parking lot was always packed. So I figured it must be good! Well today I finally had the chance to see what all this was about. I arrived and it was pretty early and not a lot of vehicles for a Monday afternoon. Upon entering I was greeted right away and the restaurant looked pretty nice and clean. I was seated in what felt like a closet space to the left of the buffet tables which I didn't like not being able to see my table from that far away. The atmosphere was pretty much the norm, booths, tables, Chinese music and crystal chandeliers. The waitress was very nice took my order and I proceeded to walk to the buffet. I did notice from a far that 120 items really were 120 items until closer inspection. I did notice not one beef entree, just vegetables, chicken and pork. I really had my mind set on trying some of their pepper steak, one of my favorite Chinese meals. However there were none. I did notice about 40 different types of chicken and pork, a large salad bar , lots of sushi and a hibachi grill. I walked on over to the hibachi grill and ordered steak and chicken with vegetables in soy sauce. Most people who must frequent here a lot knew what to do. After watching a few people I saw that you are to get a plate and add the uncooked items on the plate give it to the cook and walk away. I chose to wait for I didn't want to walk over to the table and walk back again. I did notice that the chef added the soy after it was cooked for a second and handed me my plate. Not a very friendly guy! So I walked back to my table and dug in. All I can say about all the food choices I made was that everything had no taste to it! The garlic chicken, no garlic, the pepper chicken, no pepper it was all bland! I was kinda turned off that all the chicken tasted like it was just boiled in water. I tried the hibachi steak and chicken and he should have threw the soy sauce on it while it was cooking, again no taste. The coke I had, had a weird taste like a mix of coke and diet coke. So all in all I guess if your a really hungry construction worker that's slaving away at the heat and the concrete then I can understand why they frequent here, because of the lack of dining choices, but for those of us looking for a place for lunch, go elsewhere! Not impressed at all! Came to this restaurant by accident thinking we were going to a different one. Thank goodness we came here. The food was beyond delicious. The selection is incredible. We told one of the employees we will be back for take out (the hibachi). I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back for sit down also. It's the best Chinese I've had. I took 10 year old triplets for their first buffet experience. It went off without a hitch. They loved all of the selections they had. Everything from vegetarian selections to ice cream...it was all good. Our waiter was amazingly fast on clearing and drinks, which is all we could ask for. The food area (arena at some points with so many people) was clean and kept up with. I had a portion of pepper steak that was soft, but that's to be expected when done in the buffet style. My kids had never had sushi, all enjoyed what they got. We will return, there is no doubt. Great place to get a clean buffet meal when on a vacay. Is it PF Changs? The New China was highly recommended by our daughter and her fiancé but our opinion was "meh." We were there at lunchtime on Sunday. They had a lunch buffet special but we wanted to order from the menu. The waitress had trouble understanding why we would do that. We just do not have monstrous appetites. My wife had Hunan Chicken and I had Szechuan Beef. Both dishes were okay and had plenty of meat. The rice was fried rice and very flavorful. The sauces were "Americanized" meaning sweet and not spicy at all. The flavor was okay but not true to style. There was also an overall flavor of old fish which is still lingering on my tastebuds. Maybe woks need cleaned between dishes. Most patrons of course were doing the buffet and seemed satisfied. Some seemed like they hadn't eaten for a week and were packing it in for a fasting period. I think the buffet must be the main act here. We judged this place to be more about quantity than quality so we're still on a search for excellent Chinese fare. read more
