Place was clean and staff was super friendly, laid back and could take a joke, I love that. Now the food I do not remember what my wife had because once I saw Yakisoba on the menu my mind left me. People say they have it but no one really gets it right and any X-jarhead that has been to the rock knows what I'm talking about. Well they got it baby and they can bring it with them HEAT! All I can say is Dang !!!!!! It was delicious, my wife said her food was awesome also by the way but since my mind was blown I still do not know what she ordered. While visiting Myrtle Beach we found this place on Yelp. The reviews seemed good. We arrived, and they were moderately busy. There was only one wait staff working, it took about 10 minutes to be seated. After this, he did a great job of managing all of the customers. We had a tofu appetizer, it came out quickly. I had the Spicy Basil, it was good. My wife had the Red Curry. We were both satisfied. Not the best Thai food we have had, but nowhere near bad. read more

This place is low key fantastic. Every dish is exactingly Thai with excellent flavors and presentation. The mango sticky rice and pad Thai are superb, as is the Thai tea. First, it is clean. No sand. No sticky grime. Different right from the start. Second, always go to a Thai restaurant and expect it to be different from your favorite. Different regions. Cooking styles. Etc. But despite this being different than our favorite back home, my family of 3 all agreed, this was the best meal we've had in SC. The food tasted fine but the way it was packaged is the most harmful way possible to anyone's health, especially for the price paid. Hot items should never go in flimsy plastic containers, yet they served the side of white rice in a container that is clearly not made for hot food. The container was not even fully closed because of its cheap material. It was cold by the time we got home 10 min later from getting takeout. To give barely any rice and package it in the cheapest container that is harmful to the health of your customers while charging premium prices is why we will never return here again. We had a reservation for party of 7. Our table was ready when we arrived. It was not crowded. We placed our orders. Two of us ordered the same item. We waited a considerable amount of time (but food is cooked when ordered), and when the Dinners arrived, one meal was missing. They immediately put the order in but as we sat (for 25 minutes) and watched order after order coming out of the kitchen, it was obvious they did not expedite it. The excuse given was that the system kicked out the duplicate order. The wait staff all seemed stressed and out-of-sorts. When our checks were presented, they were all wrong. We were charged for wine we did not order and some had wrong meals listed. Food was AMAZING, but service was awful. read more

Perfect, no frills Thai food. Went with a group of friends recently and we were all very happy with our meals. A favorite of mine is Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Not sure how crowded it will get in the summer, but on a February evening it was easy to find a seat and service was fast. I can see this becoming part of my take-out rotation. read more

Came here for dinner on a Sunday. There was only one other group there, and were seated promptly. Our server was very fun, and she quickly hooked us up with our drinks and appetizers (my Thai Iced Tea was good). The Chicken Satay was very good...but the five stars are secured because the curries were FANTASTIC!!! I had the Avocado Green Curry with just veggies-it was a little sweet & medium spicy; and my boyfriend got the Massaman Curry with Chicken (and added cashews): both were also stellar!!! Our server recommended Mango Sticky Rice for dessert, which was an interesting sweet rice with a half of a perfectly ripe mango on top and that was also amazing! I grew up in Thailand. I know Thai food. You just can't learn a menu and whip up Thai dishes. This was the case at Mango Thai. I understand the owner of its next door establishment took over. Not quite the same. Just missing that authentic Thai taste, on top of that, the price jumped up with smaller portions and less protein. From here on out, I'll be going to Thai Palm up in Socastee for authentic Thai food. read more

Now with that said, the crab Rangoon and spring rolls were good and the homemade sweet and sour sauce was delicious. If there was one complaint that really matters - it's the lack of friendliness. My wife and I returned to this place, always a favorite, to find out they've changed ownership, BUT... The restaurant has been through a terrific renovation, with great improvements to comfort and ambiance. Key menu anchors are the same, with staff and ownership carefully studying and improving original recipes, and adding new items to boot. Cleanliness is still primary. There are small reopening restaurant hiccups, but please be patient. We will return and we're so grateful to see their return with a strong eye on customer satisfaction. Somehow my random internet search stumbled on gold. My husband and I wanted a nice dinner out. This is probably one of the best meals we've had in years. The place was empty, but every few minutes, someone would drop in to pick up takeout. Seems like the place for locals to go weekly! Mango Tai has become one of outlets go-to restaurants. The staff is friendly and efficient and the food is always excellent. I cannot get away from the 3 crispy duck meals but the curry dishes and pad tai are also delicious. It is never too crowded which confounds me but makes it very comfortable. read more
