Popped in to Grovetown for the holidays and wanted something besides food we cooked at home. New China was just the spot. The portion size was great and the food is well seasoned. I recommend the pork fried or ham fried rice and wings. The lemon pepper was a little heavy and appreciated. The price is better than what you would get for fast food around the corner. read more

This place has some of the best food in the area. We had sweet and sour pork and chicken with beef lo mein and the cheese wontons. Everything was delicious and made perfectly. The portions were awesome and we were able to have yummy leftovers for days. Next time we're trying more of the amazing wings as well. Definitely a favorite place of ours now. read more

Was NOT impressed. When I called in my take out they said it would be 10-15 minutes. So I got there about 12-15 minutes after. I knew from the minute I walked in that it probably wouldn't be very good but decided not to judge a book by its cover. After my food was finally ready (50 minutes after calling in) she told me they put free donuts in my order. Get home and everything smelled great, but it was terrible! The sesame chicken had no sauce. The orange chicken was just plain nasty and the egg rolls smelt like and tasted like they were rotten. Way overpriced for the customer service and taste of the food. With China Wok across the street serving better quality food all-around, there's no need to come here. I was disgusted by what I got. My chicken on a stick was absolutely black, bitter-burnt and dried out. My stir-fried beef was supposed to be spicy but it was just so bland and soupy and boiled so hot that it melted straight through the foam to-go container and leaked all over. The beef was hard and boiled instead of tender. Way too much fluid of some sort took up the majority of the dish. Dreadful. If the liquor store wasn't on the same side of the street I never would have tried this place and now that I know what they serve I'm never coming back. China Wok all the way. read more

My experience has been that the food is great, the portions are good, the prices are good, and the service is pretty bad. As was said in other reviews, she is the daughter and she's really rude. We just order takeout and deal with her as little as possible. Horrible food. Lesser quality than mall food. We ordered a huge variety to try everything out because we had heard from a friend that it was good, but the only things that were even edible were the chicken on a stick and Chinese donuts... and even those weren't very good. The crab Rangoon had a very weird, gross flavor, along with the wings. The sweet and sour chicken was stale and rubbery. Thankfully it was fairly cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. The food is good and the prices are ok. My problem is the service, whoever the girl is who takes orders over the phone is rude. She is curt, mean and disrespectful. I have attempted two orders and gave up after dealing with her. I thought I was the only one but upon speaking with fellow residents in Grovetown have realized that I am not. Grovetown doesn't have many delivery options but because of this person people would rather order take out from other places and drive 30 minutes than to get delivery from this restaurant. I suggest you fix this problem or your business will begin to suffer. Word is spreading. read more

After some reluctance due to New China's yelp reviews, I decided to bring it home for dinner (as our usual Chinese place was closed because it was Monday). New China was actually really good! My boyfriend likes his lo mein very spicy, and they actually listened and made it very spicy (with an upcharge). He loved it! I really liked their egg rolls, they were slightly smaller than your typical egg roll, they were more like spring roll size, but they were delicious. The chicken and broccoli was also good, but it was available in Large size only...and I would have preferred a small, as I rarely can finish a large, and dont go too crazy over Chinese left overs. A half hour later, the food was still not here. I called them back to cancel my order, and they were extremely rude about it. My husband and I have ordered from here multiple times. Although we usually have to wait a bit when we go to pick up our order, the food has always been hot, flavorful, and delicious. Almost every time we order, they throw in something for free (once doughnuts, once rangoons, last time a 2L of pop), which is really unnecessarily nice of them. We usually order two meals and an appetizer or two, and there's enough food for both of us to eat at least three times. The past few times we've gone in, I've been on crutches, and the woman at the counter and the young girl have been nothing but accommodating, holding the door open for me, and even walking the food to my car. We haven't tried any other Chinese restaurant in Grovetown or Augusta, and at this rate, I doubt we will. We love this place! read more

I could not understand the lady so she put a young girl on the phone. This girl had a severe attitude. She kept asking me "so do you still want the order?" I only asked her how long it would be. I was then told that I was mistaken and didn't place an order. When I explained (probably 4 different times before they believed me) that I had a confirmation email from their restaurant they told me that there was nothing they could do but to re-place the order. Everything taste the same... No, seriously. Everything really does taste the same. Oily and thick. Nothing you would expect in the taste in the general Asian cuisine. The sweet and sour tastes of watered (or rather oiled) down duck sauce... Actually, could it be considered duck sauce? I couldn't tell due to how bland it was. The sesame chicken oddly tasted the same but with less soupy sauce with a hint of stale sweetness. I was told that the chicken tasted great so I tried it out. And I have to say they were right. I've never had jerky chicken before disguised as wings, but they were nice. The actual jerky-like chicken in kabob form was super dry. And, if you hope the veggies would save you, guess again. The texture biting into the broccoli there was super soft. I expect from being trapped in limbo from the excess water or oily water combination. Now, this was all from their buffet. Perhaps their ordered food is better, but I didn't want to chance it. As it is, the experience was low-grade. Not something I want to experience again. The workers there are nice outside of the young ones. More so once I found out that the place I was suggested to go to was across the street. However, if you want the feeling of being sluggish just to get out of work, eat here. It's a cheap alternative than faking it to the boss. read more

Called back at hour and 45 min and was told I guess I can call and see where the driver is. I just cancelled my order. The driver showed up at 904pm after I already canceled my order. The food is ok but not great like everything in Grovetown but what bothers me is you get charged almost $5 for delivery charge and then ask you for a tip. Nope not a chance. Thats a rip off that i didnt realize i was getting charged until i ordered on their website. So a 20 to 25 dollar meal BEFORE tip is 32 dollars. Even worse it asks for your credit card information but then makes you pay with card when they show up. So basically i have zero reason to give my card information. read more

New China buffet looked suspect to begin with. I decided to eat there with a co-worker just to try it. We walked in and were immediately greeted and sat at a table. The setup looked ran down and not very maintained. I ordered a coke and my co-worker ordered a sweet tea. The coke was flat and the sweet tea was pure sugar. The buffet placement was in the middle of the restaurant. Upon viewing the food, my first impression was WTF??? Everything had that color to it like it has been sitting for days, not hours. Yes, I know it's a buffet but the food didn't look fresh at all. I sampled a handful of different items and it was absolutely garbage. Even the rice was a complete mess. I would rather give my $9 to one of those trolling save a starving kid in Africa commercials than eat here again. Last, you will definitely find yourself in the bathroom multiple times throughout the day. I also assume during the night. Tonight I ordered at 5 and by 6:45 still didn't have my food. When I called I was told they would cancel my order and that was it.
