After a long day, Kay was having a seafood craving and searched for somewhere suitable. She suggested Tony's and off we went. My first impression of the restaurant was a good one. It was brightly lit, and clean. We ordered to go, so there wasn't a server, but the cashier was helpful and pleasant when we asked questions. I'm guilty of shopping while hungry, ordering entirely too much food, but it was quickly prepared and appetizingly presented. My first impression of this restaurant was that it was going to be a buffet. I was mistaken, and found that the menu offered similar items that a buffet would have. Only served in large portions in to go plates or pans. I ordered the 50 wings with different flavors and i was surprised at the size of the wings. They were unlike other establishments offering drumsticks that came from a quail. Anyways, the food was cooked and packaged in a timely manner. Order the medium size shrimp and I was actually surprised by the size. Thought they would be slighter larger than that (see attached photos). Flavor was decent but texture was a little rubbery. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing because I only tried this place based off of the ratings from DoorDash. We have different taste bids. I can tell when the chicken is old. Can't you? The seasoning was not what I expected and it costs waaaay too much although the portions were enough for two to three people. That's a plus for me as well so ok 3 stars. My lo mein was very different than any other lo mein I've had and tasted more like butter/garlic noodles (which is fine but I was really craving lo mein) and my husband said his egg drop soup was too salty to eat as it was (To be fair it even smelled salty but I didn't try it). First of all, the portion is HUGE. I am going to have fried rice for days. The flounder was absolutely perfect. I was hesitant because the tartar was very liquidy, but even that tasted delicious. The shrimp was fried and seasoned perfect. Many times you get fried shrimp and they are overly fried or tiny. These were a good size and you get 12 of them on this meal. The food here was good. It's an eclectic mix of seafood and Chinese. It had only been a few weeks and the young lady at the register didn't speak English that well but was very nice. I had fried oysters that were good, my friend had shrimp and scallops which she liked and we shared fried dumplings. The fish sandwich is really simple, also really cheap. Fried fish, bread, and tartar sauce. Put it together yourself. The tartar isn't the traditional chunky sauce you might be familiar with. When you walk in, you notice how clean, light and open the dining room is. The menu has many delicious seafood entrees that are boiled or fried. I purchased 2 fried shrimp dinners on 2-15-2022. My daughter starting eating the shrimp fried rice and noticed after taking a couple of bites it contained cooked roaches. I called the restaurant and the owner offered to make some new rice but not a refund. A waste of my time and money with COVID out not caring about customers health.
