We stopped in for an early dinner and it's didn't disappoint! We were the only ones in there because of the odd time and our food came out quick and hot! The service was excellent, our server was very nice and a quick wit to boot! Causal atmosphere, tv playing in the background. We weren't there for long since the food was ready so quickly.... Over our two weeks in Ketchikan we had dinner here four times and found the food and service to be very good. No effort to create an ambiance worth talking about, which seems often be the standard for many Chinese restaurants. Two very outstanding dishes - the seafood chop suey and the hot-pot squid. I thought the bad reviews were just some people being cranky. But it's true, this place is absolutely terrible. Hardly a "restaurant" and the food is not authentic. I had salt/pepper squid and Mongolian beef lunch combo. The dishes were paper plate and paper basket for the squid. The squid had no seasoning and I'll like, where's the salt and pepper? The fried rice was just plain steamed rice rolled in soy sauce. The Mongolian beef was probably Safeway. I ordered 5 star and it was probably 2 at best. Name of the restaurant is confusing as the menu consists of Thai food, dashes of Filipino and of course Chinese entrees. If you're familiar with Thai. One word. Spicy. If you never tried "Hot & Sour soup" or have - this is easily the best I have ever had (I have been to about 8-12 diff Thai rest) A solid 92/100 (more meat & would give a perfect 100) the bamboo, tofu, chicken & 1 other ingredient? AND of course the bone broth...tastes fresh every time! When I say I've ordered this soup from here at least 40x.. not exaggerating at all. Also: Fried rice is pretty good. Curry is okay. We moved to Ketchikan from New Orleans and we had to say goodbye to a lot of good food. Thankfully, New China has the best entrees we actually have EVER had. Food was shitty. Especially the noodles. Service is ok. Should have been better for an empty restaurant. They double dip you on tips. There is a sign that's says they add 15 percent tips to bill automatically for customers and 18 for party of four. I didn't noticed and add tip to bill as usual. They should say something when you add tip. They should let you know they been tipped already. She also failed to bring our rice when packing our left overs knowing they owed us two more bowls of rice. I'm he rice was also old and brown. Cheap shit service. Stopped in on a whim for lunch during a business trip.Not a fan of this establishment. I was greeted coldly at the door and had to wait at least five minutes before even getting my water. Just had the worst Thai food of my life here. Ordered red curry and green curry. They used corn starch to thicken the curries and it came out so unappetizing. It tasted as bad as it looked. OMG, Yelp failed me! Big Time! Usually I have remarkable luck with following its ratings and reviews. My partner is on a doctor-ordered plant-based diet and Thai is often a good choice with its usually fresh vegetables and tasty sauces which can overcome the absence of animal protein. My husband ordered the Thai Sweet and Sour Veggies and I ordered the Thai Green Curry with Tofu. When the food arrived (very quickly I'll allow but maybe that should have been a clue) both dishes looked like red and green cornstarch pudding with vegetables - mostly canned we thought - tossed in and tasted pretty much like they looked. The only reason I didn't give them only one star was the service was speedy and attentive. read more

Just ordered szechuan chicken and almond chicken also paid the extra 4 dollars each to get fried rice.... have never been so disappointed in my life... the almond chicken tasted like i was chewing on a garlic clove , the sauce was burnt... the fried rice had no flavor, it was basically white rice with enough soy sauce in it to give it color......the szechuan chicken was ordered with medium spice... there was no spice and chunks of pineapple in it ... and on top of all that we were charged almost 60 dollars for that... never again read more

For those who do comment on the price(s), just to clarify that since it's an Southeast Island in Alaska, all/most meat/produce is imported, which is mainly why the cost seems to be high compared to those back in CA where there are various Americanized and Authentic Chinese food. Each order placed is made by order,so every dish is pretty fresh and tasty. Having to think that it's only Thai & Chinese fusion in town, it is actually unbeatable. It's a MUST-TRY when you're in Ketchikan. It is definitely worth the money for each dish as you have to consider that most raw ingredients are being imported to town in order to create these delicious homemade dishes to share with those who crave Chinese and Thai food. Would love to return for some Thai Noodle soup, spring rolls and the best Green Curry I've ever had:) read more

This place used to be pretty good, but in the past few years it has lost its passion. Dishes have missing ingredients. Very few if any vegetables in most of their dishes. At this point they just cater to cruise ship passengers and don't worry about repeat business from locals. Pretty expensive, be prepared to pay $28+ without tip for sweet and sour chicken and an order of chow mein. Orange chicken is now $16.95 (price raised in May 2016) served with white rice. I just had an uncontrollable craving for some General Tso's and sadly enough this business is the only one that makes anything even slightly remotely like that dish. To be exact I had delivered an Order of General's chicken, a pint of white rice, and an order of their Thai chicken wings. The Thai chicken wings are pretty tasty. They are not very spicey, yet they have a hint of something very subtle that is enticing. Their cooking technique was spot on. These wings were fairly big, meaty, juicy, and the very thin crust was crispy. Definitly the star of the order. The General's chicken comes in what appears to be a ketchup based sauce very different from General Tso's I've loved in Michigan and California. It's not unpleasant. Something along the lines of a ketchup, oyster sauce, and hoisin. An americanized reimagining of something someone kind of vaguely remembers having and they've tried to recreate it from scratch. However, it was fresh, hot and had been fried very well. 2.5 out of 5 stars for this dish. The only serious problem I have this restaurant is the insane price. For the three items above I paid 28.95 plus a 5 dollar tip. So, in all just shy of 34 bucks for one entree and one appetizer. Insane. I will NEVER order delivery from them again. I will however go there again to eat, if for nothing more than the chicken wings. read more
