Went here on a port day when cruising through Alaska with a friend. A local recommended it for the casual atmosphere and the crab. My roommate likes crab, I don't much care for seafood. This will be relevant later. Positives: roomier got the clamp chowder and said it was the best he's ever had in his 72 years. High praise! He didn't end up getting the crab, he figured for the price he would have preferred a different environment. Less than positives: The chowder was like a large cup. A bowl would have been better. I got a chicken sandwich. For $20+ I would have preferred something different. The bun was good, but the rest of the sandwich was just OK. The chicken seemed like it was a frozen patty and the fries that came with it were not my thing, either. They were crispy (good) but the seasoning was a lemon-pepper/dill combo and it was overpowering. Overall, I gave 4 stars since the roomie loved his soup. Stopped in for lunch. My table ordered chicken tenders and they came out completely raw. Not a very busy restaurant and the waitress took about 10 minutes to get our sodas and waters. I ordered the King Crab leg and claw for a pretty penny and was severely disappointed with the portion. Not worth it. Had to get something else to eat after to fill me up. Manager said he would discount our meal and never did. Nice atmosphere, but not worth the price or the service. read more

We had a little time to kill before our excursion in Ketchikan, so we ducked into The Krabby crab shack for a warm-up and to escape the cold, rainy, dreary weather. First impression? This place is way cooler than your average coffee stop. During the day it's got the cozy café vibe, but you can tell it flips into a bar at night kind of a two-for-one personality. Now, the front-of-house situation deserves a shoutout. One woman was doing it all: host, server, cashier, barista you name it, she was wearing all hats. Service was on the slower side (understandable with one person running the show), but her energy was so upbeat, friendly and engaging. For drinks, we went with an extra-hot vanilla latte and a chai latte. That chai? Easily top five of my life spicy, creamy, just perfect. We couldn't resist grabbing a snack too: crispy king crab wontons (can't remember the exact name, but you'll know them when you see them). They came with this cheesy dipping sauce that was ridiculously addictive. Here's the kicker though two lattes and that appetizer set us back about $40. Not cheap, but honestly, that's kind of the Alaska way. Everything up there runs pricey, so you just roll with it. All in all, The Krabby crab is a great spot to hide from the elements, recharge with some caffeine, grab a little bite, and yes they even have a nice bathroom, which every traveler knows is a big deal. read more

Really good thing that they open early. Jimmy wanted his Fish and Chips before 10 am after our cruise was on dock. Walking around and see they open already with nice clean look. So we went in. Services were great as staffs are so friendly. Food is in the higher price range for me. Fish and Chips in the picture is $28. However, it's understandable as it is tourist area. Visiting Ketchikan for the day and had been told about this location for lunch. They were not busy so we stopped in. The staff was very nice as was our server. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the fried chicken sandwich. The couple with us shared the Seaman's Feast. My fish and chips were good. The chicken sandwich was ok but the patty was of the same consistency as a Tyson patty. The Seaman's Feast was tasty but not really worth the $249 price tag. I did have an Alaskan Amber beer which was cold and refreshing. The highlight was the Moose Droppings which are the mini churro balls with vanilla ice cream. These were delicious! We dinned here in the middle of an 11 day cruise that my in-laws took us on, and at the end of the trip when asked what was one of the most memorable parts of the trip I said "lunch here." This was my first experience with King Crab, and it was unforgettable. One leg practically took up the half the table! The meat was incredibly fresh and delicious, perfect on its own or dipped in the provided drawn butter. Delights Beyond the Crab: Everything we ordered was fantastic. The creamy salmon chowder was divine, and the side of corn deserves a special shoutout. It was so flavorful, I just couldn't get enough. (Maybe Alaskan corn is just inherently better?) A Minor Hiccup, Quickly Resolved: The only downside was the beer tasting I ordered. Unfortunately, all the beers were lukewarm, which wasn't ideal for someone who prefers their beer icy cold. However, to their credit, when I mentioned this to our server, they promptly brought me a frosted glass, which helped improve the temperature. A Must-Try in Ketchikan! Apparently, this is the newest crab shack in Ketchikan, but based on my experience, it's also the most delicious. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! read more

Ordered the halibut fish and chips. They brought out the wrong order and gave me chicken tenders instead. Wasn't until a few bites in and I realized they gave me the wrong order. When they gave me the halibut finally (didn't take long) they must've rushed it because it was cold and soggy. They ended up not charging me for the fish and chips obviously but they still charged for the coffee we had. Nice staff and friendly. But I'd recommend spending the extra $10 at some of the other places. read more

The biggest rip off in Ketchikan. I ordered a Salmon bagel for take out. I asked the lady, how long it would be and her answer was, "They only have to toast a bagel and put it together". More than 20 mins later received the bag with the food in it. I paid almost $15. When I opened the bag and checked to eat my lunch, there was nothing on the bagel at all. There was a container with a chunk of cream cheese with herbs in it. Talked to the staff at the place and they said the salmon was in the cream cheese. Did not see or taste one bit of salmon at all. Absolutely the biggest tourist scam in Ketchikan from an ONLY summer season non local food place. After receiving your response to my review: To the owner: I did not change my order at all. That is a lie. You should be ashamed to lie and blame me for your incompetence and ridiculous service of crap food that is over priced to trap a tourist. I am not a tourist by the way. I live here. There was about 10- 12 people in your establishment. it was not even 50% full. You are being untruthful and have no customer service or professionalism at all. Please refrain from attacking or blaming me. You should try to control your anger. read more

Stopped in here because the place we wanted to go was a line out the door. Service was fine, we ordered the chowder and the fries with crab. The chowder was okay. The fries with the crab were rich and decadent. We also had a couple of glasses of wine. The pour was very small for the cost of the wine. It was like a 3 ounce pour. am unable to eat fish or seafood, so when a friend of ours suggested popping in here for a quick lunch while on our cruise, I was hesitant. I saw that they had a pulled pork sandwich and decided to go for it. I had the said sandwich, our friend had the salmon burger and my daughter had the clam chowder and crab cakes. Not a single one of us left dissatisfied. The food was awesome and our service was too notch. What really sealed the deal was that I accidentally left a bag of locally obtained items and the lengths that were gone through to get my purchases back to me. Samina tried to get it to my ship but the gangway was already up. But they went even further and offered to ship it to me! I am so thankful to be able to get my purchase back! Not only did we leave with a great meal in our bellies and great service while we were there but Samina was so thoughtful and helpful in helping out this forgetful tourist. We visited on a busy port day. The place was empty, which should have been a sign to keep walking. We went in and ordered. The beer was cold and tasty. After that it was downhill. We ordered clam chowder and crab cakes. The clam chowder was just ok. Nothing special. Tasted a bit like flour. The crab cakes were not good at all. It seemed like they baked them. It was missing the lovely fried crunch of a crab cake. They were mushy and pretty tasteless. Small balls of blah. Sorry we didn't wait in line at the other restaurants on the street. We would have had a much better lunch. The place was clean and looked new. Hopefully they figure things out. read more

We ordered a king crap leg for about $ 88. It was quite small for a king crap. We stripped the meat out of it in a pile and poured their butter over it. Tasted it, and it was awful . The butter tasted rancid. Was hoping for a nice crab lunch in Alaska. Didn't get it. Got back home and made the same lunch with Costco crap for $35. We had the Clam Chowder, Dungeness Crab and King Crab Legs. All were excellent!!! They offer a very nice beer & cider selection. This place is pretty new, and very fresh and clean. The service was friendly, and everything well timed, as I love to get my chowder first, then the main course. I'd highly recommend if your a local or visiting! read more

The service is great, the clam chowder was tasty but a bit too peppery. The crab cakes were a HUGE disappointment! Usually when you go to a sea port you get lump crab cakes. But these were just breaded mush and also too peppered. The restaurant atmosphere is clean and pleasant. They did give us half off on the crab cake bill. read more
