I have patronize this restaurant for at least six or seven years. My entire family orders from there and several friends on my recommendation. I've never had a complaint and the few mishaps that I did. I didn't worry about it. I just figured it was just a bad night. today I took some rice back, shrimp fried rice to be exact because the shrimp was not cooked and it made me ill the owner normally she's very nice but she was entirely rude to me. I was calmly explained too her that it was OK I didn't need my money back, or want anything else, I just wanted to make her aware that the shrimp wasn't cooked thoroughly and that it made me sick. Well she embarrassed me to the point of tears when I got in my car. she said you ate all of it but One shrimp, which was not true. I told her that I didn't know that the food was gonna make me ill. when I felt ill and threw up. I stopped eating it. She rudely gave me my money back mind you I really wanted to order something that it wouldn't been shrimp and she said next time I won't do this. I politely said it won't be a next time. What bothers me is that I've patronize them for so long. I've seen her kids grow up to young teenagers from boys and girls I never saw this side of her and I think that's what the issue is how rude she was to me after patronizing her for so many years there's other Chinese restaurants around here. We all know that's, this one is close to me. but I want to let her know and anyone else's reading this New China never get another red cent from me and it hurts me to even say that. read more

As you walk in the place is the A Typical Chinese Restaurant where it's just untidy enough to question if eating inside could be normal. The three employees were not rude, but clearly busy cooking for the lunch rush of delivery orders. The Food - Steamed Dumplings were light and perfectly aligned with my expectations. They did not disappoint. Sesame Chicken was A Typical. A little dry but still had enough sauce to roll a piece in the rice and get a nice even coating of rice. Teriyaki Chicken was light and delicious, but I failed to pick up on any teriyaki flavor. However it was a nice mix of chicken and veggies in a rich comforting sauce. Egg Roll, if your an egg roll fan this one is a hard pass. Freezer burned and chewy with odd colored insides was reminiscent of all the other poor choices I have made in life. Crab Rangoon was visibly overcooked so I could not bring myself to explore the disappointment that awaited me. I didn't try it. I ordered hot and sour soup. What I got was egg drop soup with added ingredients, including so much spice my mouth is on fire and won't stop hurting. This is ridiculous. The eggrolls were good but be warned this is a lazy kitchen that tries to pass off incorrect food hoping you won't know the difference. First of all hot and sour soup is pork based not chicken and you use dried shiitake mushrooms not white button. You have to even the hot with sour, this didn't. I love this restaurant specifically for the following: Crab Rangoon, Egg Fu Young, Mei fun, and Pad Thai! Crab Rangoon - is light and crispy, so full of sweet flavor, best in town! Egg Fu Young- their order comes with qty three large patties, and way more than enough gravy which is so very flavorful. Can't beat their recipe! Mei Fun - Noodles are not over cooked, less on the veggie ingredients and more on the meat and noodles, you get a ton! I like this version. Pad Thai- does not stand up to my favorite Thai restaurant, but a very nice version when wanting to order both Thai and Chinese in the Same order. I also go elsewhere for beef and broccoli and fried rice. read more

I have ordered delivery from New China and it is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants I just love are egg drop soup with wonton. I've always been satisfied with my food orders from New China and I give them a 4 star rating for custer service very good food at a reasonable price. New China is in the plaza off I 159 and Frank Scott pkwy. Its a small dine in or carry out Chinese restaurant. I personally have never dined in but I have carried out and call in for delivery. Delivery is a minimum of $13.00 and a 5 mile radius. Lunch specials are offered for $5.25 from open to 3pm daily. Their are extremely busy on Thursday/Friday and Saturday nights. The food isn't the best chinese that Ive tasted. My go to is Egg Fu Young, stay away from the fried rice, Im not sure what it is but it has a weird taste to me. They do also have coupons, if you place your order over the phone, make sure to mention the coupon before paying. Cash and credit/debit cards are accepted. At the end of the day... This has been one of my favorites for a long time. Our family got take out recently and as always the food was great. Best crab rangoon, hands down. Loaded with cream cheese and piping hot. We got the mixed vegetables and chicken, chicken and broccoli, and Kung pao chicken. All super flavorful but could have used a higher meat to vegetables ratio. Rice is always perfectly cooked. We got carry out here and definitely recommend. I kind of consider myself an Asian take out expert, and this place has the best crab Rangoon I've ever had. No exaggeration. We ordered the chicken and broccoli and Kung Pao chicken which were both full of flavor, but felt very vegetable heavy and light on meat. The vegetable lo mein was delicious but also lacking veggies. This small restaurant is stuck in a plaza between a laundromat and Hollywood Tan. But don't let the building deter you from giving the restaurant a try. The food is always great, the service is friendly and efficient. It is our go-to place whenever we're hungry for Chinese food. My hubby loves the General Tao's Chicken combo plate. I'm not sure what they are using for meat, but it's mostly grissle and can't be chewed. The lo mein had almost no vegetables, so basically I just paid for the butcher's rejects and rice and noodles. I need more than carbs for a decent meal. read more

This is my favorite delivery restaurant in the area. I have never had a bad experience with their food or service. Every employee I have met and/or spoken with has been extremely nice and polite. The food arrives FAST and is always hot and delicious. They always provide tons of sauce and fortune cookies. I only have two complaints with this location. Firstly, the pricing is a *little* high in comparison to others I've eaten with in the past, so once delivery fee is added its a bit steep. I'd argue that it is worth the price, but that's a personal decision and some may not agree. Secondly, online ordering seems to produce some confusion. Every time I've noted a small adjustment in the notes section (for example pure soy sauce as opposed to traditional soy ginger sauce with my fried dumplings) it never seems to make it through in my order. If you need to make an adjustment to your food ESPECIALLY if due to an allergy I recommend calling in your order as opposed to ordering online. read more

Poor food poor and rude service. Never again. My special fried rice had barely any meat or shrimp. No egg. Staff was rude and short with me.

I ordered at small pork fried rice with extra egg extra pork and extra onion to eat there for lunch. All the soy sauce bottles on the table were dirty and had dried sauce on it. The soda machine had dried soda on it. I ate the food it was meh. I'm ex military so I've eaten in dirty places. Doesn't mean the food is bad. But when I left my stomach had horrible cramps. 1/2 hour later I was hunting for a bathroom. Again I'm ex military so I have to have a strong stomach but it couldn't stand against the food I ate for lunch. I won't eat there or even take food out of there. This is another guilty pleasure, another place I need to visit on my visits to Fairview heights. This is not the authentic Chinese fare you may be used to but you'll sill get your share of grease. The lighted menu pictures on the wall are lit up with written menu prices on tape reflecting price changes. My guilty pleasure here is the st. We get Chinese food at least once a month and always from here, either carry out or delivery. The staff has always been friendly, food has always been hot and delicious. Crab rangoon is wonderful, crispy and STUFFED with crab, you can actually taste crab and not just the cheese. Chicken on a stick is flavorful, house fried rice has a nice combination of meats. You can't go wrong with New China for your Chinese food fix. read more

The American chick that answered was super rude and wouldn't tell me the basic stuff in their chicken chop Suey... She just said she didn't know and wouldn't check with anyone else, even when I prompted her several times. I just hung up and didn't order from there that time (we had been customers almost 3 yrs).Also the white chick who makes deliveries is fat & out of shape and actually complained that she had to climb stairs to deliver, while she's standing there huffing and puffing, even though we've always tipped well and ordered from there frequently. new garbage should be the name, horrible thrown together food unfit for human consumption. the pictures you see on the menu is not what is served. those pictures are designed by a website/menu advertisers and distributed to any restaurant based on their cuisine. they serve a pork spare rib that is sliced (length wise) pork with red sweet & sour sauce that resembles red jello in a plastic container (yuck turns my stomach even now thinking about it) the cheapest cuts or whatever meat they serve (never seen chicken pieces so white or beef so malformed) the sauces taste like the smell of alpo dog food. no care in packaging (trying to consolidate items to save on packaging) that when transported your food will land on the ground when carried from you car into your home . there is a new culture of asian food out there that appears to care less about good food just money and resent you for having worked for your money and need to buy food somtimes because you are too tired from working earning money to live and provide the necessities for your family and a few luxuries like take out food. so they are now serving inferior food as high priced garbage instead. our chidren eat what we give them and after a while become use to eating bad, poor quality food and it becomes normal to their palate. this has to stop. we work hard for our money! watch how you spend it with people who think we have it to spare (which is not the case) out food is a treat and should be enjoyed with better than we have been receiving in our metro area. i want restaurant quality good food that is not prepared like out on someone's home kitchen that eat just to survive (serving me poor quality food and resereving the better food for themselves their family. and serving me and my family as though we are the hand out people (not paying) thatjust needs food. not good food!!!! just food to make it through another day because my body requires some type of nourishment. we count and should receive better. after all fair exchange. i buy your food to live and you charge me to live. read more
