    MI Xao Don Do Bien

First time there. I had the MI Xao Don Do Bien: fried noodles with shrimp, scallops, and squid and a good variety of vegetables in a brown sauce. It was excellent. Even when I finished the large serving, I wished I wasn't so full because I wanted more.

Saigon in Belleville is my favorite restaurant. If you like Chinese or Vietnamese food, you have to check this place out! I've taken everyone I know there at least once, and they've all loved it! I've moved around the United States quite a bit, and always try all the pho I can find, wherever I live. I've had pho in San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, Nashville, Charlotte, Denver... I love Asian food in general, but Pho is my perfect meal, and I've had hundreds of bowls in my life. St. Louis is a fun city for a pho lover, it's crazy how many places you can get it. I've had some incredible pho at a couple of places there, but none of them are any better than here. The first time I ever went to Saigon, I almost didn't go in! The strip mall kinda weirded me out. But I did, and when I got inside I found myself in a very clean, nostalgic little Asian restaurant. This is clearly a place that's been taken care of over the years. And the food!!!!!! Saigon's pho completely rivals "the best pho in St. Louis" - places like Nudo House, Mai Lee, Truc Lam, Saigon cafe on Euclid, Pho Long, Dao Tien, and the latest one I tried, DD Mau in Webster Groves. If this place was in St. louis, they would give some of those other places a run for their money. I do enjoy the pho at most of these places, but since discovering the Pho Dac Biet here at Saigon, I feel like my search for the perfect bowl is over. They bring you a huge, comforting bowl of the most deliciously prepared pho. The broth is seasoned to perfection, and tastes like it's been simmering away for hours. There's a perfect amount of noodles and meat in every bowl, and (not pictured) it is served with a very generous amount of fresh pho toppings: jalapeño, basil, cilantro, bean sprouts, and slices of lime. They also bring bottles of hoisin and SRIRACHA (!!) without even being asked. Because I've taken everyone I know here, I've been able to sample things from both the Chinese and Vietnamese menus, and I've been very impressed by every single one: - The spring rolls are absolutely delicious. They're full of fresh, crunchy veggies, and served with THE BEST peanut sauce I've ever had. I dream about this sauce! - The crab rangoon look standard, but taste fresh and exactly the way you want them to taste. An elevated version of a classic. - The beef and broccoli was a huge favorite of the last friend I brought with me. They also raved (for days) about the Bo Lui (beef on a stick,) an appetizer from the Vietnamese menu, which ended up being their favorite part of the meal. This is the longest review I've written for anything in my life, but I love everything about this place. I am in no way affiliated with this restaurant, I'm just a regular girl who lives in Edwardsville and loves good food! Saigon just happens to cross off every single thing I look for, and I don't mind driving an hour each way to get there. I'm not sure this place gets the kind of recognition and credit they deserve. Saigon, chef Ly, thank you for proving such a lovely experience. I look forward to eating your delicious food for many years to come! Please keep pho on the menu!!

They canceled it at 11 AM. So then I had to call the location and put the order in again. I gave them an hour notice and when I got to the location, it still was not ready for another 18 minutes then I had to drive back to work and walk-through to the hospital to get everyone's order so over 45 minutes later did everyone get their order. They need to have something online saying if it's over a certain amount that orders will be canceled. When I got to the hospital, there was items that had spilled because they were not properly sealed. There are items missing. So I called the business manager called me who just had a baby literally a newborn. I was trying to help me which was so sweet and I felt so bad. Kia, the manager brought up what was missing The business manager said he would get with me later because of all the issues It was a very large order and nothing had writing on it so it was hard to know what was what However, they did go above and beyond to fix it once they knew there were issues so I still give them five stars as well as they were super communicative

The hibachi cooker spent the entire time on his cell phone while scratching his neck, face & arms asking continuously, "spicy , not spicy." The stir fry was overcooked. Our waitress did not wait. We had to clean our tables due to the plates piling up. We were not asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks the entire time we were there. She walked past us with a scowl on her face like we had stolen from her. She never introduced herself to the table. The food was okay but not worth the price. We waited 15 minutes for the check, she never brought it. We walked to the front and I asked the manager for the check and he directed me to the young lady at the register. Out of nowhere, our NON-waitress threw the check on the counter. All we could do was look at her. The entire time we were at this establishment, there was no interaction with the waitress because she never came to the table. I normally leave a 20%-30% tip but today it was Zero. Needless to say, I will not patronize this restaurant again. I had to give the restaurant 1 star because there wasn't a box for zero.

The bún bò Huế is hands-down one of the best we've ever had. The broth is rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and we keep telling ourselves we're going to order something different... but we can't stop coming back to the bún bò Huế! The shaking beef is incredibly tender and full of flavor, and the beef curry is another standout that's absolutely worth ordering. Everything tastes fresh, especially the generous plates of herbs and garnishes. The cilantro, basil, bean sprouts, and limes are always fresh, crisp, and plentiful, which really elevates every dish. The service has been outstanding every time we've visited. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. The menu has such a huge variety that we've officially decided to make it a date-night challenge to work our way through the entire menu. At this rate, that may take a while because we keep ordering the bún bò Huế over and over! This place is an absolute gem. I knew they don't take reservations and won't seat an incomplete party, but I still got there a little early just to see if we could grab a table for five. I was surprised (in a good way) when they seated me before everyone else arrived. I even told the hostess I didn't mind waiting, but she encouraged me to go ahead and sit, which was really nice. Our server was super friendly and made sure I was taken care of while I waited. As my friends started arriving, he was quick to get them settled in too. We started with some non-alcoholic drinks and spent some time chatting before diving into the menu. It was honestly hard to pick just one thing, so I went with both the chicken pho and fried rice. I knew I wouldn't finish it all, but I really wanted both. Once we ordered, everything moved smoothly--our server checked in, made sure drinks were filled, and kept things organized. When the food came out, everything looked amazing and tasted just as good. Of course, with all the catching up we were doing, it took us a while to finish, but there was no rush at all. When we were ready, he brought the checks and was more than happy to split them out (always appreciate that!). Before leaving, I ordered a to-go meal for my husband and asked for a box for my leftovers. Our server actually took my plate and packed everything up in the back, which I wasn't expecting but really appreciated. He also brought out the to-go order right when it was ready. Honestly, everything, from the space to the service to the food, was just great. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon.
