I am from the San Francisco Bay Area where we have a large Chinese immigrant population and the Chinese food is great. So I have a pretty high standard of comparison. I found the food at New China to be mediocre to poor. When I brought my take-out food home I found that the Chow Mein had no noodles. It just had lots of sprouts and other veggies. The veggies were okay, but I ordered a noodle dish and it came with no noodles. Yikes! My son ordered Orange Chicken and it was a bit mushy and the taste was unremarkable. There was "no crunch and no tang", my son said. The only redeeming thing I found it that the food is cooked to order and is ready in 5-10 minutes while you wait. However, there is no place to sit down so you have to take the food home or to your office to eat it. But then it gets cold by then which makes the flavor even more mediocre. AMAZING chinese food in Bethlehem! Our food is always fresh. The takeout/delivery service is always pretty quick and we have never had any errors in our orders. They are always accommodating for any special requests we might have. I really do not know what the "it" factor is other than freshness but their food stands out so much compared to the other take out jawns in the area. I CANT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED. I ordered food and delivery the guy came with the food and I had my younger sister give the guy cash to give to him because I was in the middle of washing dishes. Now mind you, she's only In middle school counting change so she's gonna be a little slow. So tell me how THIS MOTHER FUCKER is gonna tell my little sister "hurry up god damn" I stopped doing the dishes walked to the door and said excuse me? What is the issue? He's gonna say "I have a lot of orders I gotta take care of I can't be at the door all day just give me the fucking 54 dollars" when those words came out his mouth I lost my shit real quick, I said "Well what the fuck? I got kids in the house I'm busy, you don't see me cleaning? Give me a second and I'll get your change for you. He said "fuck you" took the food and left, infront of my younger siblings!! They're hysterically crying because he couldn't be a little patient with us. Decent place. Have had a bunch of things off of their lunch menu and I've never been disappointed. Pros: VERY reasonable price wise. Great bang for buck. Soups and noodles all very good. Everything tastes freash. Pretty quick service. They'll say 10 min and it will be 10 min. Nine out of Ten orders have been spot on Cons: Parking stinks (on street only in a busy area) The one of the ten (mentioned above) was when I order Pepper Steak w Onions....the steak was not quality at all. In my opinion not really the cleanest Chinese Take Out place I've ever been in. A bit Greasy. I've gone there quite a bit because of proximity, and I'm sure I'll go there in the near future. Quite Possibly the worst Sesame Chicken that I have ever had the misfortune to experience. Its looks very similar to all other Chinese takeout places. This one does include a couple of small tables. Beyond that it's the same as all the rest. What this place excels in is the ability to ruin a dish of Sesame Chicken. Should i be eating Sesame chicken in my advanced age and plump physical condition? no. But when the craving hits who am I to deny my belly? It guides me through most of my decisions and how do i repay it??? With some gelatinous yet tough brown slurry that I can best describe as chewing dried wood glue. Sprinkle some discolored seeds on that and you have what this place calls 'Sesame Chicken'. I'm writing this review the day after so you know i have to be some kind of upset to still want to write a disappoined review the next day! But no matter how long after 10/16/15 that you read this review just know that it'll STILL be fresher that the 'Sesame Chicken' this place serves! The egg roll was good tho. read more

Picked up food to take with us to visit my mother-in-law. What a pleasant surprise!!! We ate the most delicious wonton soup. Very rich broth with huge wontons and plenty of shredded roast pork. Their lunch specials are a great value!!! read more

My favorite place to order Chinese delivery from. Reasonable prices and they always send a free can of Pepsi with my order. However, this time I got vegetable lo mein and it had a slight ammonia smell to it (never happened before). Probably from the alkali water to cook the noodles not being changed often enough. As far as American Chinese food goes this is some of the best. I most frequently get the general tso chicken. The chicken here is some of the freshest you'll get from a Chinese restaurant and it actually tastes real, which If you've had Chinese before is quite the rarity. read more

It's been a few years since I have commented on New China Star Restaurant, and since I visited last night, I thought I would say a few words. Had my usual Shrimp Mei Fun and so did my wife. Had called home & told my wife to check the menu online & call in the order - the shop uses the last four of the phone number to track orders - and the wife said the menu did not come up online. Just checked, looks like their domain is expired in February LOL Anyhow, food was not quite ready when I arrived, place was hopping since it was a Saturday night. Got asked by several employees if I was being helped! New faces behind the counter. First thing when I walked in my order was confirmed & I paid with my credit card. As soon as it was ready it was packaged ( 7 to 8 minutes) and I was out the door. Parking on Linden St is tough, I had to circle around and parked on East Goepp St next to the Linden Market. Sometimes also on the east side of Linden St. Food was hot & delicious! I grabbed a menu to hang up at home for future reference LOL in the event they don't bring back the website. Told 30-40 minutes for delivery and took 45 (even though it's not even a mile away). Advised the woman over the phone we would pay with a card but she didn't take the card information. Delivery guy shows up saying we said cash. Called the restaurant, woman says we said cash (we didn't). Paid with a card over the phone and go to eat our food but my "walnut chicken" was just "walnut breading" as they must have deep-fried the chicken too long and it shriveled up into nothing. Tried to call and explain and woman would have none of it. Really stubborn people with horrible service and would NOT recommend! read more

Really good and neat Chinese food. Reminds me of the take out and delivery places in jersey when I was a kid. The person taking the phone calls can communicate perfectly in English. Delivery took 20 minutes and I'm 2.5 miles away. Ordered boneless barbecue pork combo. Big thick slices of pork, not those tiny hard nib-lets. Fried rice was light and not at all oily. I have tried MANY different Chinese places in my area and this one takes the cake! Their broccoli is consistantly GREEN, that to me says fresh. Was told food would be ready in 30 minutes. At 50 minutes I called and they said it was on the way. 15 minutes later it showed up. Considering it's a 5 minute drive I very much doubt he was on the way. Then when i finally get the food the chicken chow mein I received consisted of slimy soggy chicken and some chewy vegetables rather than the stir fry noodles that chow mein is usually.
