You'll be thrilled to know the food at Ruby's Cafe is ALWAYS Fresh & ALWAYS Delicious! I usually order either the Shrimp & Broccoli (Amazing!) or the General Tso (Outstanding!) but without fail the order must include Fried Wontons, they are BAR NONE!! They provide sauce but I have never even tried it. There's no need they are fantastic on their own. This place is great, give it a try. read more

While watching the Winter Olympics hosted in Beijing, my boyfriend and I ordered Chinese take out from Ruby Cafe. We placed our order via telephone and it was ready for pick up within 15 minutes. Due to COVID, they do not allow customers in the restaurant so you pick up and pay for your order at the front door of the restaurant. We ordered the General Tso Chicken Platter and the Sweet and Sour Chicken Platter. The platters are served with fried rice and your choice of Wonton soup or an egg roll. The flavors were delicious and the portions were huge. We were able to have a full dinner and lunch the next day. read more

Not as good as others say - not sure what I am missing here. Egg rolls are huge - would rather have a smaller one with more filling. Just tasted greasy. The Kung Pao Chicken lacked spice. Chicken and broccoli was ok - just basic though. Woman who helped me was very friendly and offered silverware along with extra soy and duck sauce. The special combination platters (comes with pork fried rice and wonton soup or egg roll) are a great value. Tried the chicken and broccoli first and went back to try the moo goo gai pan the second time. Both had enough sauce and a good balance of meat to veggies. The wonton soup was flavorful both times as well. Each platter is a good portion - its two full meals for me. Overall can count on a very satisfying meal. I'm glad to have found this place for Chinese takeout. There is a barrier for COVID precautions for a no contact pick up. A small drawer to put in your payment and another drawer for the take out bag. I especially like that the staff uses a speaker so it's easy to hear them from outside. read more

Now this is a place to get Chinese takeout. I used to always go to China Star on Linden St, but I was not happy with the quality of the food. Ruby Cafe has it down pat. Great food, and easy pickup right at their doorway! Parking right in their lot. Order is always perfect. If you're looking for an excellent, affordable, tasty Chinese takeout spot in Bethlehem, PA, this is the place. My boyfriend and I had a hankering for some Chinese one night and he told me that this is the place to go for Chinese in his area. He said that he had tried a lot of places, but always found that this was the best local spot, in his opinion. Now, I haven't tried the food at any other Chinese restaurants in Bethlehem, PA, but the food here was truly yummy, and for a really good price. We got the General Tso's chicken combination platter and the Kung Pao chicken combination platter. Both combination platters came with roast pork fried rice. We also got a small wonton soup on the side. The total price was about $25. I think that the food was not too expensive. The food was really good. The egg roll was pretty crunchy and flavorful. The sauces with both chicken dishes were just the right consistency. The General Tso's chicken was a tad on the sweet side, but certainly not as sweet as some other General Tso's chicken dishes that I have had at other Chinese restaurants. We ordered take out from Ruby Cafe last night and it was delicious. I will probably never order from anywhere else in the Lehigh valley! We ordered: crab rangoons, beef lo mein, and two combo platters: general tso's chicken and sesame chicken which came with pork fried rice and wonton soup or an egg roll. We were visiting the area for a concert and found this place on yelp with fairly decent reviews. It was a good choice for Chinese. The portion sizes and the presentation were good. I had the combo of General Tso with white rice and egg roll. It was freshly made and had a good flavor. It could have been a little more spicy, however. My husband had Chicken with Onions and Curry Sauce. He got the quart size with white rice. He said it was pretty good but he likes what he gets from a place near our home. The flavor was good, but he would have liked to have more white rice. Our friend had a pint of Vegetable Lo Men. She is kind of newbie with trying Chinese. She said it was good and the portion was good. She only ate about half of it. Over all this was a great choice for inexpensive and tasty Chinese. All of the other Yelpers have this place pegged perfectly. 1. It's clean 2. The staff truly is friendly 3. You can customize and they don't bitch about it 4. Not nearly as greasy nor are things fried as hard as they can be at other places 5. You can actually see into the kitchen area so things are on the up and up 6. When they say 15 minutes it's always done in 15 minutes Solid takes on Sweet & Sour Chicken, Orange Chicken, Beef Broccoli plus any of the fried rice choices. I've got several Chinese spots that are closer but I'll drive across town for better especially when the food and service here are the real deal. read more

*UPDATE* I just puked my brains out, ~6.5 hours after eating here. Just about positive it was from the food. Definitely will not be going back. I've eaten here a few times and it's been good in the past but this time not so much. I ordered the boneless spare rib platter with wonton soup. Wontons were clearly frozen and stiff to eat. The spare rib was flavorless- not convinced it was pork but was surely made from a frozen package. Girlfriend got chicken chow mein. I don't know what they gave her but it was not what she ordered. Google what chicken chow mein is supposed to look like and compare.. literally no noodles in the dish, lacking flavor and was visibly disgusting. Ruby Cafe is fast, tasty and inexpensive. They have great vegan/vegetarian options and they offer online ordering through their website. We have never been in to eat, only get take out but the space seems clean and staff is friendly. Love the cold sesame noodles and mock General Tsos chicken. I used to go to Ruby Cafe all the time back in college. I miss it so much. I try to go back any time I can! My usual order is either house special Lo mein or general tso's chicken with garlic sauce. They are so accommodating and the owners are so nice! Portions are fulfilling and although they're small, top quality food. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience here. They are also ADA/wheelchair accessible as well, so definitely open to all patrons! 10/10 read more
