Such a nice place! I had a negative experience across the street (the one which recently closed.) I came into New Coco Nails without an appointment and was treated very nicely. It was quiet there, but still had customers. The ladies and one man were very friendly and fit me in right away! Not many nail salons still do acrylic nails so Iv was very happy there. Upon leaving, I left my credit card there. I couldn't find it anywhere and then I realized I must have left it there. My boyfriend went back to get it the other day and they had already called the back to cancel my card! Very nice, honest workers and will definitely be going back!!! I use to love it here. I had 2 5pm appointments, one for myself and one for a friend. waited nearly 45 min and my pedicure was done with in15/20 minutes. The polish chipped with in two days. I think the polish they used was old or watered down. Very disappointed. The last two times I have gone my pedicures have been rushed and not relaxing. I'm in search of a new place cd e. Went in for the first time for a acrylic fill in & a regular pedicure. Big salon lots of plain manicures and pedicures going on. The fillin ugh - the lady was nice. Her name was Teresa. However I'm so unhappy with my nails that I will probably have to go back to have them all fixed. It looks as if the cuticle area is going to lift with the acrylic any-day. She filed so much around my cuticles that on some fingers she cut me yet the powder didn't set correctly. I've been here a few times, the owner at the front desk is friendly, it's never crowded, they have all new chairs n plastic dividers up for covid. I went for a pedicure, there was one other girl getting a pedicure and about six empty chairs and they sat me right next to her which I thought was not good for social distancing. The girl Who did my pedicure cut my skin on my toe. She was apologetic but it hurt and was bleeding. I see in another review someone posted her picture as trying to use dirty tools on her. So she's been there a long time but she's not good. They've always been so so to me but after this bad experience I can't see myself going back with so many other options in the area. read more

Amazing...such a peaceful pamper day I'm having! Started with a wonderful pedicure...water was just right, massage chair was comfy and my nail tech was sweet. She gave me a massage like never before. I'm use to a rush job of a massage, this was at least 10 minutes...awesome. My gel manicure is beautiful as well...I'm a happy customer and will be back. Called around 4:15 and asked if I could come in. Walked right on in and got a beautiful LCN. Most places put up a fight when I ask to get my nails filed down super short however Coco nails didn't hesitate to give me what I asked for. I asked for a natural nail not thick caked on gel and that's exactly what I got. The other reviews are spot on. My pedicure and my husband's was not rushed but extremely relaxing. I am so happy I found this wonderful salon amongst the 10 others on New Dorp Lane. I will certainly be returning in 3 weeks!!!! Also, prices are completely manageable!! Beware of dirty tools!! Ehhh.... Staten Island you disappoint again. After reading reviews I thought this would be the salon for me. I had my mani/pedi color as I always do and I was sat down quick for a mani... Girl did great sat me down to dry and then I waited. I told I was ready for my pedicure and she told me she doesn't do pedicures. So I waited for about 40 minutes until I was taken for my pedicure only after I said something to the owner/manager answering the phone. Sat down in the chair. Waited about another 15 minutes. Of course at this point I'm deciding to leave. Finally a young Spanish girl comes over to my chair with the tools she just used on the older woman she just finished up right before me. I don't say anything just yet and let her do her thing. Filling up the tub she soaks me with the hose and my silk pants and now there is flood on the floor. She takes the towel from underneath my feet, cleans the floor and then attempts to try to wipe my pants.... I abruptly say "no thanks". I'm not half way through my experience and Im checking the doors for my exit. She takes off the old polish and attempts to use the dirty tools on me.... Again I abruptly stop her and say " Those are dirty, I want sanitized ones" she takes the tools and sprays them with sea breeze. Again, I stop her and I pony to the sanitized box at the other side of the store. I told her just to do a polish change. Bottom line, maybe I would come here again during the week on a not so busy day. But the fact she attempted to use dirty tools on me gives me anxiety . Let's be real ladies... Do you really want tools used on you that were picking cheese and cutting corns out of a much older woman's feet used on you with out being properly cleaned? Yea. Didn't think so. read more

After reading the reviews I decided to give this salon a try. I was shocked at the disappointment that I felt not just with the quality of work but with the behavior of one of the staff members. When I walked into the salon, I picked my nail color from the wall. When I sat down to get my pedicure I gave my color to the woman doing my nails. After being prepped and ready to be painted the customer next to me decided she also liked the color I had chosen. Instead of the woman's technician going to find the same color on the wall she takes my color and begins using it. I informed her that it was the one I picked out and she began laughing, proceeding to use it anyway. The tech next to her told her in Spanish that it was my color that my nail tech was ready to use on me. She continued to laugh and use my color. When I finally said something to her she abruptly got up,found the duplicate color and threw the original bottle onto my techs tray. Wow. Then my gel manicure is a sloppy mess with gel polish all over my cuticles. THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN ANY NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER HAD. HORRIBLE. I have been to many nail salons because I'm always looking for better, but this place was definitely not better. First off I go in and ask the wait time for my mother and I, the owner says 10 mins. Okay fair. I WAITED 30 and my mom waited even longer. I let it go okay. Next I was thrown around from one lady to another to do my nails. The lady took way too long to do regular tips. I was falling asleep. Then she painted my nails the color I didn't request and I felt bad asking her to change it because they were closing up soon. So finally I asked for regular polish and a clear gel top coat. I go home, the next day the clear gel top coat shatters. It looked like an iPhone screen after dropping it, seriously? I go back the following day to ask do get it redone no charge because at this point it's ridiculous, and the owner isn't there but the other workers agree. I brought along my boyfriend and bestfriend and they watched the lady cut my fingers. Horrible service. Soon enough the manger comes and is mad at the fact I got my nails fixed ...? I ask For quick dry and she is reluctant to give it to me. But 5 mins later she comes up to me with quick dry and said she will only give it to me if I leave and take my loud friends with me. So all in all I got horrible service. Horrible nails. And kicked out. (My friends aren't even loud, the respected their surroundings) never going back. Also the 25$ sign up front is a lie I paid 40. Also my pedicure? Haha, I was tossed around again. The lady cut my toe and it became infected. Gross. Did I happen to mention they treated me poorly when with my friends prior to with my mother (very sweet)? Not very nice. And finally.. Fantastic! I just found (finallllllllly, after living in the area for over a year) my new nail spot. All of the places close to me (in the Hylan shopping plazas) are awful, unclean, & overpriced. This place was like a breath of fresh air! I walked in, no appointment, was greeted warmly, picked a color & immediately sat down for a pedicure. Def the best one I've had in a long time! They were not quick or careless, the massage wasn't rushed & everything was perfect. Then I had a great manicure, very thorough & careful. Neither my manicure nor pedicure was rough or uncomfortable as they tend to be in a lot of places. The prices were great, I got a manicure, French pedicure & quick dry drops $30 even. That's fab! Very bad experience from 1 year ago. One of employee, Spanish speaking, was cursing on us on Spanish language, because I tell her that she making my 13 y.o. daughter nails tips not straight and going up like a jet. I tell her take them off, I don't like it. Its was end of the day and she refused. Owner took a part of her employee, sending young girl- customer to take a look, so others clients was involved by owner in my business. Horrible! I paid around 40$ including tips for ugly tips and Spanish cursing lessons. 2 tips comes off in 3 days, all others comes off less than 10 days. Owner must teach her employee not to curse on ANY language on front of client, at least. And to do job what your client ask you and not what you can do. If you can not do it tell up front you can not do it, or at least do not charge for your screw up.. Avoid this place! read more

I'd never gotten it done before, and felt a little embarrassed at first, but the super nice and funny owner and her staff made me feel comfortable. And my feet have literally never looked better. Since this is my (sorta) local salon, I've been checking its yelp page regularly and I'm shocked that it still doesn't have any reviews considering how busy I find it every time I go. Time to take matters into my own gorgeously-manicured hands. PSA: This is the best nail salon on the island. Why? Allow me, if you will, to list: 1) I've yet to find a better price to quality ratio for a mani-pedi ($24!!!) not only on the island, but in the entire city. Now, I've had cheap manicures & pedicures done before, but this place is cheap in price only. Where other low-price mani-pedis usually skip on some essential steps (notably callus-scrubbing, moisturizing, massaging) you will find this place to be full-service. 2) CLEAN. This place is clean, bright, and spacious. Not only visibly clean, but if you sit and look a while, you'll notice everything is disinfected properly after each client, from pedi tubs to (most importantly) instruments. 3) I've never had to wait. If the place is super-packed, Mimi herself or the other woman who works the front desk (whose name I regrettably do not yet know) will do your manicure. And it is always done thoughtfully, never rushed. 4) Best customer service around. All of the women who work here are attentive and courteous. Like I said before, you are never rushed, no matter how busy it is, and your comfort and satisfaction are their prime concern. 5) I had my nails done here for my wedding. When it came time to remove the gel, my nails came out of it looking much healthier than when I'd had gels removed at other places. I don't know why, but I will chalk it up to the skillfulness of the New Coco manicurists :) Notes: -Last I checked, it was cash-only. I now instinctively bring cash here, so I haven't asked in a while. -I've only had regular manicures, gel manicures, and regular pedicures done. Came in to get quick pedi. This is not my usual spot. Paid $18+$1 quick dry drips $4 tip. The pedicure sink was dirty to begin with. Not 100% sure if equipments were sanitized. I explained to the women whose face is shown in the other review to be careful when clipping due to the unusual shape of my nails she was rough anyways. The order of pedicure that she did was remove polish, clip, massage with lotion, scrub, then remove some more old polish. Which is not the typical order when you get a pedicure. *Forgot to mention she did not cut cuticle. The polish job was fine but I usually look for a really good cleaning before the polish. read more

Sign on door says $20 for tips. Took both of my daughters turned out it was $32, she told me no I didn't give them those tips. Rather then argue I paid it since my kids were happy. Get home one daughters nail comes off. Next day, another daughters nail came off. For this price they should last at least 2 weeks! read more

Came here a week ago. I found the place was clean. The owner an Asian lady seemed OK with the customers but with her employers I thought she was a bit rough. Being of Hispanic descent I did not appreciate that. Just because your employees don't speak English and probably are not documented its no reason to treat anyone as second class. I went on a Sunday afternoon and oh my, it was crowded. The girl that did my acrylic did a good job but she seem to be afraid of speaking to me. Maybe the Boss lady does not let them speak with the clients. My pedicure was done by another lady and she seemed exhausted! She gave me such a good massage but I though it was a bit too long so on the second leg I told her not too worry about it, not to massage for long. She immediately looked over her shoulder to see if the boss lady was looking. I reassured her that it was OK, that I did not want the long massage. Will I go back? maybe, if I'm around the area and I need an emergency mani/pedi. Otherwise I'll be looking for another place. The prices are OK. I had acrylic tips and a pedi and I was charged $38.00. Oh, I almost forgot do you know that (thank God i do not need it) they had a kitchen grater to scrape your heels!!!!! I asked the lady twice because I couldn't believe my eyes. Ouch!! That looked painful. LOL, it's funny too. I cannot imagine letting anyone using a kitchen gadget for my feet. read more

This has become my go to salon! The owner Mimi is so nice and and the entire staff is friendly and courteous. Wait time is quick and on a busy summer Saturday it's best to try and make an appointment especially for pedicures but even without an appointment the wait time is never long and Mimi makes sure to fit you in as quick as possible. The place is clean and the tools and equipment are well sanitized. I love the pedicures and always opt for the Lavender pedicure just because I love the scent. (For me totally worth the extra $5) Prices are great and definitely on the lower end but the service is definitively not cheap. They don't skimp on the leg massages and the polishes last a long time. I definitely recommend this place as Mimi and her staff are so nice and accommodating, it's always a pleasurable experience! read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!will not be returning !!! I had an 1130 appointment for manicure and pedicure and an eyebrow waxing this morning. I showed up a little early so they started my pedicure. After that was done, I waited almost 40 minutes before I asked the lady when they were starting my manicure, and they said come back at 3 o'clock totally ignoring the fact that I had an appointment for 11:30 as of a week ago.... they are very disorganized, unfriendly and very unprofessional I will never go back. TERRIBLE!!!! the lady took 2 hours to do my nails and they look horrendous!!! they also had a sign in the window that said acrylic tips 25$ and they charged me 40$- and when i asked why it was so much she told me it was because she filed them down for me. i showed her about 4 pictures of how i wanted my nails shaped and they still didint come out right, now im stuck with acrylic and glue all over my nails untill these grow out. also the place did not even look sanitary. overall it was a terrible experience and ill never come back. read more
