Once again, Sunny top nail doesn't disappoint! Helen and her staff are amazing, and the results are always great for a VERY reasonable price. Since Covid, some of these other salons have gone too far with inflation prices, but this place still stands firm and THATS why they continue to stay in business! My daughter and I got a regular mani/pedi this time and I have no complaints. THIS is the nail salon you come to where the owner actually cares about customer satisfaction, NOT just money!!
This place is not it. Made the mistake of coming here! So many better nail places on Staten Island do not waste your time or $ She made all my cuticles bleed.
I've been going to this nail salon for the past 5 years as a regular customer and they have always provided excellent service. Helen is my go-to manicurist (she's also the owner) and she's always been so kind to all her customers! She knows everyone who walks through the door, which shows that their customers keep coming back! Helen has always been helpful when I needed help selecting a nail color. Recently, I started trying nail art and the manicurist Janeel (not sure if I'm spelling her name correctly) does such an amazing job! (See photos) Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a new nail salon!
Just moved to Staten Island and figured I'd try this place out as my first nail spot on the island. Helen was such a joy to meet. She took great care of me -- let me tell you I'm picky with the shape and feel of my nails (I've been getting acrylics for over 10 years!) and loved what she did for me. Solid job! Also my pedicure--wow. The massage and precision is great. Definitely will be coming back!
I love this place! Their service is very nice. I've only been here twice both for UV Gel manicure ($20) and both turned out very well. I've had the same nail technician but I don't know her name but she does my manicure very nicely. The polishes lasts really long like about 3 weeks or possible more (but I couldn't stand my long nails so I had to get them done). It says appointment only but I'm pretty sure walk ins are acceptable as well or just make a quick phone call to see if they have any availability same day. They have quite a bit of nail techs there. Their pedicures is also very nice ($20) or you can also upgrade it to spa pedicure which comes with a 20min massage for $35. Will keep coming back in the future :)
Absolutely the worst, most unsanitary nail salon I have ever been too. I was getting a pedicure done, and because the salon was crowded the lady started removing another clients HAND nails at the pedicure stations, and her nails were flying all over me it was absolutely disgusting. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. I have never HATED a manicure so badly in my life. So expensive for the design and my nails came out so so thick and my cuticles werent even cleaned properly. She charged me 87 for dip nails and a normal pedicure... make it make sense. My nails werent shaped the way I wanted, all the nails were uneven in length. My toes came out even worse I am not sure why I had holes and gaps in the polish. I can make this review so long I am so triggered and appauled by the service they had. When i told them I did not really like my nails and it needed to be fixed they were so rude and Helen the manager tried insisting me that a $5 tip is too little. EXCUSE ME. A TIP IS A TIP. I hated the nails, hated the service, worst experience. NEVER. GO. HERE. ITS NOT CHEAP, AND UR NAILS WILL COME OUT SO BULKY AND THICK!
Called about 45 mins before closing wondering if they'll take me and they did! So glad! This is my fav spot and they always do such an amazing job! They did pedicure n dip powder with short tips in an hour! Best service, quality, AND prices! All the nail techs are awesome
Warning for extreme length LOL... I gave a lot of thought before deciding to update this review because of how loyal of a customer I've been, but my last visit really put a bad taste in my mouth and here I am a week later still taken aback from my last visit. I've been a loyal customer since Sunny Top opened in 2017, I've brought people with me and spent BANK here over and over again, recommended all of my friends and family to Helen, and really thought I would never look elsewhere for my nail services-as I haven't, in over four years. Sunny Top offers a discount card after your first several visits where you save $10- a great opportunity for people who return again and again- like me. In the four years I've been going- steadily every 3-4/ 5 weeks, I never kept good track of my cards and had them punched out each visit, but Helen knows me on a first name basis and knows that I am always coming in. I asked Helen a couple of months ago if she could grant me the $10 discount for the first time after going AT LEAST 20-30 times in the past 4 years and she gave me the $10 off. I've returned several times since. Fast forward to a few days ago, when I came in and asked if she would be able to give me the discount on my manicure and eyebrow wax. She immediately told me she wouldn't do it because I already got a discount months ago. Since then I've returned multiple times, once with my boyfriend spending over $170 dollars in one session. Although this upset me, I paid without question but I have to admit- it put a terrible taste in my mouth when I walked out the door. It's not about 10 dollars. It's about customer service. If $10 was worth keeping me as a happy customer, obviously my business and loyalty don't mean as much as I thought it did to Helen. In the grand scheme of things, I am owed at THE VERY LEAST $50 off since becoming a customer when Sunny Top first opened and returning again and again, literally balling out and getting everything you can think of from $50 jelly pedicures to eyebrows, gel, powder, rhinestones, artwork- you name it, I've gotten it, and I've gotten it all at Sunny. But over the years I notice a vibe of greed, as the business grew and that tiny dingy salon was filled to the brim of women every single day. After I got one jelly pedicure, Helen was asking me to do it every time since- $$$ And that's something, coming from someone who has never complained- even when my nails have chipped or fallen off a week in, or when I'm sitting there for over two hours because Helen is answering the phones and helping other people while servicing me, or when my boyfriend and I got pedicures and the woman doing his feet buffed his toenails without saying it costed an extra $5. But that's just what loyalty is- stupidity. Giving someone your money time and time again and sending people left and right to them while keeping your mouth shut on all of your dissatisfaction. So in the end, $10 did lose you a very consistent customer who's been there since your doors first opened, but who cares when you've got so many more, right?
Love them here. Helen and Staff are very accommodating will be back soon. I've never been to a salon that went so above and beyond to ensure I am happy. I got waxed and powder manicure and pedicure happy customer
My boyfriend... (now fiancé) was hinting at me to get my nails done and I was in need of a really good salon!!! It was my first time going to Sunny's and it was a fantastic experience!!! I did the Powder Dip ($30) and regular pedicure ($20) and got a free hand lotion gift from them for the Holidays. Ivy did a great job with both my nails and feet. She was extremely attentive, took her time and was also extremely pleasant. This was my very first time doing dip powder and it lasted me around 2.5-3weeks. I would recommend this salon to anyone who's in need of a spa like treatment. The place is very clean as well and they also give you an $8 off card on a $10 minimum purchase after a certain amount of stamps. This will be officially my go to spot for nails!!! Love it!

Linda and the nail artist are wonderful. This was my first time doing powder, so I wasn't sure what to ask for. Linda was a pro and gave me an honest opinion about length and thickness. After showing them a photo, they were able to replicate it with colors I liked. The nail artist who did the design was so detailed. Totally would go back if I get a chance. We got there at opening and they were already busy so make an appointment if possible. read more

Wow. Their pedicures are amazing! I came here due to their high reviews about their pedicures and it did not disappoint. They do massage your feet and legs for awhile, use hot rocks, and also gave a foot wrap. I chose to do a regular pedicure and a gel mani. The mani came out well, but I've had better. The interior needs a little work though because it did feel a little dirty, especially the pedicure area. The reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars even though the pedicure was great is because I got charged an extra $3, which I only realized when I got home and looked at the receipt. My gel mani was $25 and the regular pedi is $22. The girl who did my nails even said $47 total when she was done with my nails and I asked for the price. I used credit card to pay, but tipped in cash & was in a bit of a hurry to leave. I should have paid more attention and perhaps there is a service fee for using card but they should have disclosed the information to me if that was the case...especially since I ended up tipping very generously. read more

Excellent customer service and very responsive when making an appointment. I got powder nails both time I visited-$30. Powder nails last for a long time for around 2-3 weeks. I came around Christmas time and got a hand lotion as a gift. How thoughtful! Overall great experience and will definitely come back! read more

Amazing work!!!! I literally went there because of the reviews and risking to get weird nails for the holidays, but I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, they give you an appointment with prices straight away. When you walk in, the owner greets you and asks you of it's your first time, also lets you ask all the questions. They're super patient and attentive, and they really do a good job. I got SNS with tips and it came at $40 total. Walked out with a holiday gift and a $8 off card for a next visit. I will definitely be coming back! read more

I'm not one to write reviews on nail salons because I'm never really happy with the end result, but for the first time in a longgg time I can say my nails came out PERFECT! I've been to this salon before for their pedicures. This is the first time I've had dip powder manicure done with them. Ivy was so attentive. She listened to me and actually gave me the shape I wanted. She took her time, I did not feel rushed for one second! Finally found a place I love. The staff in general is sweet and welcoming. Got a gel manicure and regular pedicure for the first time here. Something that is very important to me is cleanliness- this place uses disposable pumice stones for your feet, and liners in the foot spa tub. I have been working in hospitals that autoclave during the past few years so I don't think it's the cleanest place ever, but it's definitely better than a majority of salons on the island (Ladies/gents- just bring your own TOOLS to avoid infection-- that's the one thing I was kind of sketch about). The "regular" pedicure included exfoliative scrub, leg/foot massage, paraffin wax and the hot stones. One of the best pedicures I have ever gotten. Gel manicure- I had a hard time picking color (so many choices!), but one of the staff members helped me match a color to my dress. Very meticulous and overall good job. They also have a loyalty card which gives you a $$ amount off after a certain number of visits This may sound kind of silly, but the best thing about this place is that the owner is extremely friendly. I stopped going to a place down the block from my house even though their prices are cheaper and they do a pretty decent job because they had nasty attitudes. This place farther and has slightly higher prices, but this place is different- everyone who works there wants you to be satisfied. I will definitely be back. read more

Loved my experience here & I will definitely be returning. The staff is friendly, and the service is excellent. Prices are reasonable for what you get. My nails came out so beautiful - Helen is AMAZING and so kind. She didn't mind me changing my mind a bunch (before we started obviously !!). The pedicure was so good.. all around excellent experience. This is my new nail salon :) read more

So unhappy with my nails:( the nail tech was very rude and didn't listen to what I asked for. I nicely asked him to change multiple things about my nails like the length and shape but was ignored. They turned out super bumpy too so I went to another salon right after! read more

Every review of this place is spot on. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The regular pedicure is as good if not better as any specialty pedicure I've gotten. I went in for a UV manicure and they suggested I switch to powder. 10 more bucks but it was worth it. Lasted 3 weeks, no problem. Loved this place. Will definitely be back. read more

Absolutely LOVED this place, cozy, professional, and amazing customer service. I got a coffin style nail. I'm visiting from CALI and I'm so glad I found this place. I am beyond thrilled with the expertise, honesty and care they received me and handled every concern and even contributed healthy opinions on length and color based on my specific characteristics.
