DO NOT EVER MOVE HERE. I made the mistake of moving in 3 years ago. During that timeframe, I have experienced having no heat during the winter time, pest such as roaches, cracks in my ceiling, water stains in my ceiling from rain, the doors do not stay secure so anybody can walk into the building and anything else you could think of. Management is rude and very unprofessional. I went into the office on June 28, 2021 to report the water stain in my bedroom above my bed in my bedroom. That appeared when it rained really bad. The lady in the office that sits at the front desk (did not get her name) blew her breath and when I was explaining to her the same issue I had prior she continued to do work on her computer. At that point the property manager Nicola was sitting in a chair with her knees in it and bending over the desk telling me that I am not telling the truth about events that were documented. Her mannerisms as a property manager is very concerning. The upkeep of these apartments are simply horrible. I can go on and on but at this point, I am just going to take legal action.

Broken window that is always open management chooses not to fix

New Colonies is LITERALLY the worst place I have EVER STAYED IN! DO NOT STAY HERE! Rent Else where. There are so many things I can rant about but I'll simply tell you a few. If your looking for safety this is NOT The stop for you. The front doors are always kicked in/ broken into and the locks are never replaced. Literally anyone can just walk in to the building and get to your door. I've had SEVERAL energy saving reps, door to door sales ppl trying to sell me knock off purses and other random ass items. They knock on doors COUNTLESS of times because they have open access to the front door. The water for the sinks are a dingy BROWN/Tan color I have to run the water for about 30 minutes before the water turns to a lighter brown .(Totally humane right). Management won't do anything about the complaints unless you call fire/police department first. New Colonies has an infestation of roaches and when I complained to the leasing office the suggested I "poured bleach down the drain to keep them away" If you value life don't move here!

If I could I would give 0 stars. I have lived here for the past 3 yrs and I cannot wait to leave in December. The maintenance has steadily declined to the point where they don't bother to clean the hallways of the buildings anymore. Multiple people in my building smoke weed and the smell penetrates my unit to the point that I can't turn on the air vent in my bathroom because within 2 minutes the entire space is filled with the smell. They have taken away most of the amenities that attracted me in the first place, like being able to pay rent online. There is no longer an online portal to request maintenance, you have to call the hotline, however if it is not considered an "emergency " you will be left waiting for months. I have called to about a broken dishwasher for months. The guy came to look at my broken toilet, I showed him the dishwasher, he said I'll be back tomorrow to fix it and never returned. The washer in my building has been broken for 6 months now, forcing us to use the rental office facilities which cost more. The final straw is that my upstairs neighbor's tub is leaking water into my bathroom. I have been calling for months! The dripping has turned into a full on downpour and when I went into the office to complain they said that it was not an emergency and I'd have to wait in line. There is now a whole where the leak is and the ceiling will fall in any day now. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

The staff are the best. Tyler, Max and John were exceptional and made our time in Indiana so nice…read more Tyler is so great, so welcoming and friendly and professional. Max was always a pleasure to see in the evenings when we'd come back fr being out. John was the hardest worker we'd ever seen! He was also great to talk to. All of the staff was hella nice, but these three made it feel like home, and are true assets to the Hilton brand. We had family in a diff room, so we experienced three rooms over two weeks. The pool was heated and very clean. The washers were an experience lol, we had to go to a nice laundromat about 20 min away, Fresh Laundry in Griffith. The hotels washers were pretty rough, we cleaned gross hair and gunk off of one before we decided to not use it. Then the next day 2 of 3 were out of order and there was a line for the one that was working. The gym is great, used it each day. The breakfast and 24/7 coffee/tea/water is also very much appreciated! The lobby is really cute and the elevators are very efficient. Parking is super easy and plentiful. Mostly, this hotel felt really safe and welcoming. Factoring in the crazy good deal we received, if you're on a budget or need to be in this area, highly recommend. Also, water gets nice and hot fast for the sinks and showers. Our if the 3 rooms, 2 had great mattresses and everything was perfect, but the third (handicap accessible room) had a lot of issues w knobs falling off of the kitchen area and the shower sprayer needed to be replaced and I had to tighten the table leg bc it was so loose the table almost fell. The heater and ac worked really well in each unit and the streaming was easy, wifi was stable enough for work. We mostly stay a lot in Chicago (Trump tower, review for that on yelp as well), and we don't think we'll be back in Indiana for future visits, just due to family being more in the city, but if you find yourself in this area- we recommend this place for a great value and perfect staff members. We did have very strange issues w exceptionally crazy stomping and noses fr what sounded like upstairs, but they said no one was above us lol- but we def heard hella running and footsteps like, 8pm to 1-2am for a lot of days so who knows from where that was deriving- sound placement can be deceptive, but there were 5 of us who will swear it was directly above us lol. They moved us w no issues to the above mentioned accessible room, and that was in the top floor, so we had no issues w noise after that and we appreciated how they moved us w no issues.

Typically when i book hotel rooms i read reviews and look at ratings, pictures as well. The pictures doesn't match, my greatness disappoint at this location was it was not clean, dirty furniture and bathroom was clean, the kitchen area needs upgrading, rust in the fridge on racks. There was dust on the dressers and desk area and trash left under the sofa in the living room area. I pay for good service not convenience. The pool area has no towel. This is a location i will not be re visiting.

We could not find a hotel that had rates cheaper than $400 so we decided to stay outside of the busy area and just drive in the following day. This hotel was on our way and it was under $200 so we booked it. We arrived after 8pm and had our digital key already sent to us. That made it easy because there were not many places to eat and we wanted to drop everything off and go back out to grab some dinner. Our room was massive! It was a great room if I was working and hubs would be out on jobs. We were going to sit somewhere in the lobby and hang out before bed but it was extremely chaotic with trashy people so we decided to stay in our room for the evening. The bed was comfortable and so was the sofa. We had requested a late check out because we could not check in to our next hotel until 3pm and it was a short drive. We were given until 1pm, which was very generous. Breakfast sucked. Nothing was restocked. All the trashy people we encountered the previous night were multiplied in the morning. I was getting a headache from all the noise so I didn't want to wait longer than the 30 minutes we were already there for restocking. That was the one less star reason and also for a snickers ice cream bar I purchased for like $8 that tasted gross and freezer burnt. Even with that, I would stay here again.

One of our party thought it smelled like cigarettes; I could not detect that but I was also dealing with some kind of seasonal allergy. Some areas in the bathroom appear to need a redo or reseal. One of the queen beds kind of sunk in the middle, but we did not see why until we were leaving and looking underneath to make sure we hadn't dropped anything, it had some broken slats. The free breakfast bar is a step up from some places with a decent selection of pastries, toast, cereal, the make your own waffles thing, plus some kind of breakfast meat, mini omelets, fried potatoes and grits. For someone like me who drags in the morning, it's a great thing. However, one of our group needs a gluten free diet. There were some things she could eat, but a staff person believed the waffle batter was gluten free when it almost certainly wasn't. The coffee in the lobby is good and includes dark roast , light roast, and decaf options The location is quiet enough and the free parking is nice. Most important for us is that it's close to Credit Union 1 Amphitheater. I even saw some people making the journey on foot! At 2 plus miles, it's doable but maybe not great for us older folks! Anyhow, it's a very short easy trip by car or by rideshare.

Saturday night the guests had taken over the entire breakfast seating area with crockpots of food and delivery pizza. I wish we would've made friends and ate with them instead of next-door at the Farmhouse Restaurant. It was terrible. I wrote a different review on that. We booked a 2 queen room for our family of 3. The room was spacious and had a view of the woods and walking trail behind the hotel. There was a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We did have problems with our door unlocking, but it was no issue. The main reason we stayed here was for the pool. The pool is 3'6" deep with a basketball goal and water spraying into it. There is a kitty pool that was 1 foot deep and two small slides. There was also a hot tub that went indoor and outdoor Saturday night the hot tub was too hot for my son to get in but Sunday morning it was warm. Lots of kids in the hot tub. The pool is not heated. It was pretty cold. I preferred the hot tub temperature. The staff at check-in and check out were both very friendly. They do a continental breakfast with two waffle makers. My son loved making his own waffles. They also had scrambled eggs, sausage, links, ham, hard boiled eggs, bagels, toast, muffins, oatmeal, and cereal. Plus a machine with orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, and water and of course there was a coffee. We enjoyed our stay! As loud as the hotel was Saturday night. I expected to be woke up by kids running down the hallway or slamming doors and I'm happy to say we all slept all night. Great destination hotel.
