Best hotel in the area. Beautiful grounds and interior design. Spacious rooms. Excellent service. But I have to dock them a star for the obnoxious speed bumps on the way in. They are the pyramid style black bolt down ones, and there are THREE of them within 100 yards of the entrance. You have to go less than 5 mph over them - seriously - to avoid jolting damage to your suspension. It's a quiet corporate park with ZERO pedestrian traffic. Absolutely no need for these. We arrived at the front desk with a loaded luggage cart and groceries for a 6 night stay in a room with a full kitchen. We had been driving for 2 days to make it to the area for medical procedures beginning the next day. The young man at checkin informed us that our reservation had been cancelled. They did not have room for us even though we had made the reservation 6 weeks in advance. They had instead booked a room for us at the neighboring Hampton Inn. A room without a kitchen and only a mini fridge and no freezer. When we expressed our dismay to the manager, Michelle, she berated us for having unloaded our vehicle and purchased groceries before having checked into our room. We simply could not believe the lack of concern for our situation and what we were facing over the next 6 days. However, having been given no notice, we had no choice but to take the inadequate room at the Hampton Inn. We lost over $100 worth of groceries as we had no place to refrigerate them. Beyond that, we have completely lost trust in the Munster Homewood Suites and will not stay there when we next return to the area. We can't recommend this place to anyone who is relying on their reservation being honored. read more

The staff are the best. Tyler, Max and John were exceptional and made our time in Indiana so nice. Tyler is so great, so welcoming and friendly and professional. Max was always a pleasure to see in the evenings when we'd come back fr being out. John was the hardest worker we'd ever seen! He was also great to talk to. All of the staff was hella nice, but these three made it feel like home, and are true assets to the Hilton brand. We had family in a diff room, so we experienced three rooms over two weeks. The pool was heated and very clean. The washers were an experience lol, we had to go to a nice laundromat about 20 min away, Fresh Laundry in Griffith. The hotels washers were pretty rough, we cleaned gross hair and gunk off of one before we decided to not use it. Then the next day 2 of 3 were out of order and there was a line for the one that was working. The gym is great, used it each day. The breakfast and 24/7 coffee/tea/water is also very much appreciated! The lobby is really cute and the elevators are very efficient. Parking is super easy and plentiful. Mostly, this hotel felt really safe and welcoming. Factoring in the crazy good deal we received, if you're on a budget or need to be in this area, highly recommend. Also, water gets nice and hot fast for the sinks and showers. Our if the 3 rooms, 2 had great mattresses and everything was perfect, but the third (handicap accessible room) had a lot of issues w knobs falling off of the kitchen area and the shower sprayer needed to be replaced and I had to tighten the table leg bc it was so loose the table almost fell. The heater and ac worked really well in each unit and the streaming was easy, wifi was stable enough for work. We mostly stay a lot in Chicago (Trump tower, review for that on yelp as well), and we don't think we'll be back in Indiana for future visits, just due to family being more in the city, but if you find yourself in this area- we recommend this place for a great value and perfect staff members. We did have very strange issues w exceptionally crazy stomping and noses fr what sounded like upstairs, but they said no one was above us lol- but we def heard hella running and footsteps like, 8pm to 1-2am for a lot of days so who knows from where that was deriving- sound placement can be deceptive, but there were 5 of us who will swear it was directly above us lol. They moved us w no issues to the above mentioned accessible room, and that was in the top floor, so we had no issues w noise after that and we appreciated how they moved us w no issues. read more

Well the check process was good, no hassle, my room wasn't ready and they were apologetic for that but if check in is at 3 then 3 it is and don't coming knocking at 11 pm for check out. Typically when i book hotel rooms i read reviews and look at ratings, pictures as well. The pictures doesn't match, my greatness disappoint at this location was it was not clean, dirty furniture and bathroom was clean, the kitchen area needs upgrading, rust in the fridge on racks. There was dust on the dressers and desk area and trash left under the sofa in the living room area. I pay for good service not convenience. The pool area has no towel. This is a location i will not be re visiting. read more

I booked a room a month in advance at Homewood Suites in Munster, IN for my daughter's 5th birthday sleepover. The day of check-in, I got a call saying my room was canceled because of a "leak" -- even though I had a confirmed reservation and they had already sold out. I was sent to their sister hotel, Hampton Inn, instead. When I arrived, my room wasn't even ready, so I had to come back later while juggling birthday plans. In a rush, I signed their paperwork -- no one told me anything about a "no birthday party" policy. This wasn't a wild party -- just a few kids ages 2-5 swimming, eating, and celebrating. Later that evening, a staff member named Julie came upstairs, immediately upset, and told us we all had to leave over one noise complaint. I offered to buy another room to stay within their policy since my room had two queen beds and a pullout couch, but she refused and said she'd already called the police. The way Julie handled the situation was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. She didn't try to talk to me calmly, didn't give any warning, and made my 5-year-old cry on her birthday as police showed up -- all because a few little girls were laughing. Thankfully, the Munster police officers were kind and understanding, and even told me to contact corporate because of how wrong it was handled. We left and stayed at another hotel, where the staff was friendly and welcoming -- they even asked if the kids enjoyed the pool! Huge difference in how guests are treated. It's unacceptable for a hotel to treat paying customers, especially families with young children, this way. I hope corporate addresses how Julie handled this situation, because it was completely out of line. read more

This was the first Homewood Suites that I haven't been happy with. The staff was amazing but the cleanliness of the property was awful.

This hotel was unacceptable. Our room had no towels or toiletries. When we requested towels we were told they didn't have any. The pool was overcrowded and the water was so dirty that we were told they had to drain the pool which meant no swimming. There were two loud fights going on in the hallways on different floors. The police had to be called and people were arrested. It was also very loud with parties going on in different rooms. We felt it was an unsafe hotel to stay at with a family. read more

I had the worst time at this location! Reservation was mixed up, over charged for room and it was pulling teeth to get it figured out and the charge reversed off my personal card. Then....and THIS is why I hate giving hotels my credit card number. They will find any way possible to charge your card for any thing they see fit and it's difficult to get it remedied. They count on you getting tired and letting the charge fly. Two days after check out I'm charge 300.00. Why? Because according to the manager I never told anyone I had a pet. I did, at check in, two different people and was charged....I signed for the fee. But after checking out, I'm charge a pet fee again and a cleaning fee....for some hay. That's right folks an extra 300.00 at the managers whim all because they have my credit card on file. So sick of this BS! Hilton can kiss my ass! read more

So a catastrophe struck and a sewer pipe collapsed beneath our basement contacted plumber and homeowners insurance. Been deemed our home wasn't liveable because standing water and raw sewage. Was contacted by homelink and they gave us 3 options I told wife this 1 because it was close to home and we could stop in multiple times a day to check our pets. Everyone here has been so helpful and understanding of our situation. The care this place has towards my family in a rough situation I'm forever grateful to. We are coming up on day 7 quickly and still got about 6 days left here. Housekeeping is courteous, full breakfast every morning thus far my fave has been biscuits and gravy, every morning they got make it yourself waffles cold cereal oatmeal potatoes bread for toast bagels muffins juice coffee milk. Not many places offer such amenities. Wi-Fi kinda slow but there's an option for $4-5 a day to upgrade it to higher speed. Plenty of sleeping space with 2 king beds and a pull out sofa for the 4 or us. I take my kid to school and Every morning I'm greeted almost as if I'm family. Our stay with this hotel was bad right out the gate. When we arrived we were notified that half of our party was moved from our originally booked hotel to the hotel across the street. Not what I agreed upon when we booked our rooms. The whole experience was unorganized and uncomfortable. The managers from the neighboring hotels were in some of of disagreement and the tension was almost unbearable. The next day I could hear the disagreeing and the female manger was crying. After talking to an employee at The Homewood and they said that their was issues between Joe (Homewood manager) and the General Manager at The Hampton and that she had been trying to force a relationship with him and had recently began stalking him. Never experienced any thing like it. Avoid the drama and stay someone else. read more

So this is a brand 'spankin' new hotel in the heart of Munster. There is a nice Walgreens, Starbucks, Potbelly Sandwich Shop and Red Lobster within walking distance. The staff is absolutely incredible...lemme tell all you Yelpers (and Googlers). My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights with my parents during my Granddad's 90th weekend. We utilized the Conference Meeting Room for his party on Saturday night. The ladies at the front desk were wonderful to work with. They even helped setup the room. Saying they went "above and beyond" is truly not enough. The hotel itself is gorgeous and well-made. There is a salt water pool, spa tub, state-of-the-art workout facility and even a half-court basketball shoot-around. The rooms are large...rather large. Overly comfortable beds, pillows and towels. I could stay here for weeks. read more

I live in Munster but sometimes I just can't deal with my current living arrangements - which do not include a functional bathtub. This hotel is so nice! Everything is BRAND NEW, clean and perfect. This hotel has only been around for a couple of years and was newly built. When I checked in, the 5-7 pm hotel social was happening, which the front desk attendant told me includes free wine and beer. I also saw a huge pile of chicken tenders in a serving warmer. Didn't partake, but that seemed pretty cool. I originally booked a king suite but those don't have a tub - they were able to switch me to a queen room which does. The bedroom in this room was huge! Tons of space for 2 queen beds, a desk and an armchair, windows on two walls, was really bright and nice. Oh! And this bedroom had a CEILING FAN! I've stayed in a ton of hotels in my life and I have never seen a ceiling fan in a hotel room before! I'm someone who needs to have a fan on me all night long - I even considered bringing a little one with me. Normally I have to turn the AC way down to sleep comfortably, so that was a really nice thing to find in the room! Everything else was absolutely perfect. The living area was smaller/cozy, with another big window, a velour couch big enough to seat two or three and an armchair. There is a soft coffee table/footstool combo and a movable wood table thing that is just the right height to put your laptop on in front of you while sitting on the couch. Table with 2 comfy chairs to eat at in the kitchen area. The kitchen had a full size fridge and a little cooking area with a microwave. I also noticed a grocery list on the fridge - you can fill out a list of groceries you want for your kitchen and drop it by the front desk and they will go do your shopping for you. I took what I think was a brand-new velvetty blanket out of the closet, hung out, watched Bring It On, ate a shitload of Combos and Rolos, microwaved a frozen mac and cheese, took my baff (sparkling clean tub that just needed a quick rinsedown), covered myself in free hotel lotion and then had a great night of sleep in what was an extremely comfortable, kinda soft/firm bed. No backache when I woke up after 8 completely dead to the world hours. Can't comment on the pillows because my pillow travels with me everywhere. Breakfast smelled great on my way out - didn't eat but wish I had the time to! All in all an absolute 5 star experience. Will definitely go back to this hotel exclusively for my bathtub/in-town hotel nights. If you're in from out of town, Walgreens and True (really delicious restaurant with amazing meats) are right across from the hotel, and Potbelly, Meatheads, Noodles & Co, and Starbucks are all on the little road connected to the hotel and could be walked to (they're south past the Dialysis and Hospital Rehab facilities next to the hotel). Red Lobster is just down the street. If choosing between this and the Hampton Inn which is right next door, this hotel wins hands-down. Stayed here for 3 weeks and the staff was so friendly day in and day out. It was definitely home away from home. The breakfast crew (Elise an Dana) was always cheerful in the mornings and had everything ready every time. The evening social was nice as well. They offered drinks and always a salad bar from Monday-Thursday 5-7. Had a loud neighbor in the middle of the night once and they took care of the issue in a timely manner. I'm going to start off by saying I travel ALOT for work. I always stay in Hilton Hotels. Sometimes my wife & daughter come with me. This particular time they did. Im going to start off by saying these 3 staff members are deplorable, lazy, gossipy, and very unproffesional & rude! Harold, Kenji & Elise. They gossip to guests about their coworkers & even other guests. What kind of behavior is that? Harold is very rude & not at all nice to children. Elise is supposed to take care of breakfast & the evening social, she frequently sits down with guests, people have to frequently ask her to replenish the food. Kenji is very rude & acts extremely ghetto. Harold. Is supposed to be the "night manager" whoever hired him is a complete idiot & doesn't care at all about how guests are treated. He should not be dealing with guests at all, he has the worst personality. They have about 3 staff members that are great, they will go above & beyond to help you & are very proffesional & have great personalities. Mimi, Vicki, & Yolanda are AWESOME!
