We stopped for a one night stay on our way to Indiana. Convenient location to stay after trekking down I-294. Only 18 rooms which are well appointed and comfortable. Sounds like this property is booked out often for wedding parties in season and it's perfect for that . The restaurant downstairs is incredible. I can recommend the mushroom ravioli and salads . I stayed in the deluxe king room #203 from 2-7 - 2-8 and checked out on 2-9. This was meant to be my wedding getaway as we reserved the Vault and had a dinner party which was great. Courtney and Chrissy were AMAZING. This is where my praise for LaBanque ends. My wife and I left the hotel on Thursday afternoon as we had plans for the day. I called the front desk to inform them that we would like our room cleaned. We returned around 1030p and our room had NOT been cleaned at all. I had to call the front desk for fresh towels. The bathroom had NOT been cleaned as the sinks were left untouched. The dresser and desk countertops had not been cleaned. We did not receive fresh mugs for coffee and our leftover coffee from the previous morning remained in the mugs. I made this known to the front desk attendant; he apologized but didn't offer fresh mugs. I have never experienced anything like this before at any hotel that I have stayed in. The attention to detail from your housekeeping staff is sorely lacking. Upon checkout the front desk didn't thank me for my stay nor ask how my stay was. Not surprisingly, they didn't seem to care about the issues with my room at all. Management mentioned that this was a "small operation" and that housekeeping didn't get around to my room because it was "too late"; mind you, I called to have my room cleaned at 12p in the afternoon. Needless to say our wedding getaway was marred by the gross negligence and subpar customer service from LaBanque. read more

My favourite hotel on the South side! Warm and welcoming desk staff. They are genuinely happy to have you as a guest. The lobby is something out of a movie. The hotel used to be a bank. Hence the name. Rooms are in the small side but so well appointed you'd not notice. Super comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms. Keurig and boxed water in the rooms. Generously sized bathrobes are provided. The rooms re quiet. Free breakfast is a nice treat. Fresh fruit, boiled eggs, yogurt, cheese, pastry are available. It's a super spread. read more

For our August 2018 wedding at nearby Ravisloe Country Club, we created a guest block of rooms at La Banque and stayed there ourselves. The rooms were beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for our getting ready photos. Each room came with a mini fridge, making it easy to bring snacks and store leftovers. The staff at La Banque and the lobby restaurant (La Voute Bistro) were phenomenal. Meg, the manager, took care of our guest room block after a single email and provided advice on transportation and the best room sizes for the guys and girls to get ready in. The front desk staff were helpful with any request, including delivering welcome bags to each guest room. The bartenders at La Voute took care of our group all weekend. As an added bonus, the bar stayed open late after the wedding for guests who wanted to keep the fun going -- no charge. read more

This a cute, boutique hotel in downtown Homewood. The hotel use to be an old bank. It's filled with character and the staff is welcoming and very friendly. The rooms are a normal size. They're clean and the decor is nice. My only negative comment is they say the curtains in the rooms are blackout. They definitely are not blackout. But the remote system for the curtains is nice. Service of housekeeping is friendly and willing to accommodate you. There are some areas of the hotel that smell like wet dogs. I feel this is because they allow pets to stay here. While I love dogs and pets, if you are going to be a hotel that allows pets, you need to take that into consideration and have hotel air fresheners. I do believe this is the best hotel in this area. I do like that it's a short drive into the city of Chicago. Would definitely stay here again. read more

La Banque is amazing! What a great idea to transform a bank into a high-end boutique! The attention to detail with the decor, the service and the cleanliness where all top notch. We've stayed at several Four Seasons or Ritz Carltons from coast to coast and this won them out! We were there for my mother and father in-laws memorial, drove across country with our small dogs (dog friendly!) and boy did the staff go above and beyond. We were spending time with our family we hadn't seen in years, the dogs were barking (as they do), and the front desk staff came and got them and watched them until we were done. So grateful for all their help! Thanks Meg and staff for making us feel so at home! Plus there's a restaurant attached! With the perfect bar! And the bartenders are the bomb (James, and I think Jordan). You can't go wrong with this establishment. Class all the way! read more

I love this hotel it's so fancy, very clean, extremely comfortable, a nice place to relax! They have direct tv, which gives a lot of watchable channel options. The climate control is great very quiet central air and heat, not the usual loud fans that are in most hotels. It's a pretty, relaxing, and calm atmosphere. The rooms have high ceilings, and are spacious, the bathroom is beautiful. The room comes with soft comfy robes, a Keurig, with a few coffee, and tea options, and a small but decent sized refrigerator, also has glasses and coffee mugs. There isn't a microwave but that's not that big of a deal. The beds are soft with white plush comforters and pillows. The rooms also feature blackout curtains which you control from bedside with the push of a button. I love it here! Not to forget the manager was super sweet, and the staff was nice! read more

If I could sum up my experience with La Banque with one word, it would be: EXCELLENT. My wife and I booked the entire hotel for our guests following our wedding at Ravisloe. We were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the building itself. The lobby area is amazing. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the details. Our room was spectacular. Incredibly comfortable bed, awesome features (automatic blinds, etc). We stayed in the corner king room which had a soaking tub as well. The night before our wedding we held our rehearsal dinner in the meeting room. This consisted of ~25 people and we all sat comfortably. The service was excellent, food (from the restaurant at the hotel, La Voute) was delicious and came out quick. We were able to pick and choose appetizers and entrees for our guests to choose from and the staff custom made a menu for the table. We really enjoyed the bar at La Voute as well. They are open late (until 2am on the weekend). I want to really recognize the service that was provided over the course of our stay. Everything was excellent and we were always taken care of, no matter the request. A special thank you to Michael and the other managers who went above and beyond with their service. This was our 2nd time at La Banque and we were looking forward to treating ourselves to our 2 night stay. But we disappointed by several separate problems. 1-We were greeted MUCH MUCH less enthusiastically than you'd expect for a small boutique hotel. Almost like we were inconveniencing the woman at the desk. 2- It took us about 24 hours to realize the stench in the lobby was more serious than overcooked broccoli. When we asked, the dismissive answer was that some "pipe work" was being done in the basement. No apology or emotion. 3- The bathtub drain would NOT drain. We complained twice and it never got better. 4- A minor point but worrisome: the wood framing around the (NON DRAINING) bathtub was warping at the base with exposed wood. It feels like the first evidence of neglect. Those things should be repaired immediately if the place is going to keep its image. And its customers. I'm not sure if we will stay again. With family all in Homewood it was the obvious choice when it was meeting our hopes. Now the Tinley Park hotels are the better choice. read more

I stayed here for my class reunion. What a lovely 'spoil me' weekend! The linens are luxurious. The automatic curtains are fun. The bathroom is huge but the showerhead was a disappointment. It looks nice but it is just a showerhead. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The entire hotel was going to the class reunion. The arranged transportation to the venue so no drinking and driving. There was a sign and balloon arrangement to greet us. The restaurant is FANTASTIC! So... wasn't expecting much from a south suburb boutique hotel. I was pleasantly surprise. After a minor room oasis at checkin the manager and staff provided us an upgrade to help my daughter prom prep go off without a hitch. They accommodated some extra space so she could prep privately (although we had to clear out from the room). The lobby, restaurant and really the whole hotel is beautifully done. It helped that downtown Homewood offered some late night options including a food truck in front of Grapes and Grain. I won't always need to stay in downtown Homewood (only daughter and lady prom) but if I ever have a need I will certainly consider La Banque a true upscale option. read more

Beautiful hotel with a lot of history, but also updated amenities and rooms. I received really good service and hotel was accommodating with my dog (always a plus!). Comfortable bed, modern room, really nice bathroom/shower, and robe included. My Keurig stopped working unfortunately (not hotel's fault), but I was able to get coffee from the breakfast area. Great location within walking distance of multiple restaurants and bars. Hotel has a nice restaurant as well. I didn't eat there, just grabbed a glass of wine, but the bartender was very friendly. My husband and I just stayed at La Banque for a week and it was the perfect hotel! We didn't want service due to covid-19, but they had a table with all essentials (new towels, kleenex, toilet paper, etc) along with bins for dirty towels and trash. It was all so clean and organized and allowed us to socially distance while feeling completely taken care of. The restaurant is so good and they also deliver to your room! We brought our dog for this trip and the hotel staff were so sweet and kind. Our room was big, clean and the bed was so comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area! This place is exceptional!! I'm so glad I stayed here. :) I was flying in from Salt Lake City, Utah and wanted to stay somewhere different from your typical hotel chains. I found this place on Yelp based on all the reviews and knew I had to try it. The process for booking was easy. I booked on their website. The service at the front desk has been friendly and very helpful. The inside of the hotel is beautifully decorated and so are the rooms. The bed and linens are comfortable and soft. The shower is amazing..just love the rainfall shower head. :) The view from the room is nice (it's of Downtown Homewood and of the Skate Shop). There is plenty of parking out front or in the back. They serve a complimentary breakfast for guests each morning from 7am to 9am. Which is delicious! Overall, I give this place 5 stars. I will definitely return to La Banque in the future. This hotel was a much needed oasis for my husband and I! We were moving cross country (Utah to Rhode Island...with 2 dogs, mind you!) and when we reached Illinois, we were exhausted. We found this LOVELY hotel and just fell in love. We loved it so much, we decided to just take a 3 day break from the road and stay! It's a beautiful little boutique hotel and the decor is lovely. The staff is excellent and very welcoming. And their restaurant/lounge has great ambiance and the food is very good. If we ever find ourselves back in this area of Illinois again, we will definitely go back. Definitely recommend this lovely little hotel! read more

As I begin this review, I would like to take full responsibility of incorrectly booking my stay. I booked early morning 12/21/15 for 12/21/15 (default date) and meant to book for 12/28/15. I actually called before I booked online to ask a few questions about the hotel. I was interested in the King Corner room and wanted to know more information on the 2 that were listed. The receptionist at the time didn't even know the size of either room or where they were located in the hotel. She said that room 215 was bigger but online it read that 218 was bigger. She didn't have any specifics on operating the whirlpool as well. She offered to book me through the phone but I was hesitant based on her lack of knowledge so I decided to book online. Booking online was actually confusing to me as I navigated the site and even though I meant to choose the 28th, I actually chose the 21st, which I take responsibility of. Working in a customer service based field and staying in many high end hotels, I expect the best when choosing a hotel that's categorized as high end. Even though I read prior mixed reviews on La Banque, I went ahead and booked a one night stay for my wife and me to have a get away from the city. On 12/28 we drove about 1.5 hours in winter storm weather to get to La Banque. After entering the building we walked up to the front desk. After reading prior reviews on poor staff training, I noticed that the front end attendant did not seem enthused to greet me. I actually had to start the conversation and tell her that I had reservations. She asked me for my last name and said that nothing came up. I searched through my e-mails and noticed that the reservation was for 12/21/15. The only solution she offered me was to purchase a room that night at regular price? Really? There was no way I was going to do that. I then proceeded to ask her if there was a manger on duty. She said I would have to wait until tomorrow. Really? No manager on duty? Even to get a hold of? After asking her a few more times, she hesitantly said that she can text the manager and told us to wait in the lounge. After about 15 minutes she came back and unapologetically said that there's nothing she can do but offer us $100 for a room that night. I said that I would discuss this with my wife. After discussing, in the lounge, I noticed she walked away. I wanted to ask her more questions but she was no where to be found. My wife and I decided to leave. We had reservations for the restaurant on property but cancelled our reservations. This was my first time in Homewood and at this property. I do not plan to ever come back to the hotel. I understand I am not able to receive any kind of refund for my actions but the way the situation was treated could have been improved and a more cordial and inviting response could have been used by the employee. A few pointers: train your employees before they start on proper customer service and with knowledge on your property. It can go a long way in satisfying your customers. If someone books a room that same day and the guest doesn't show up, maybe it's a red flag to call the guest and see what happened before charging them the room given that there's only 18 rooms or so in the property. For a smaller hotel like this, I would expect VIP treatment. A reminder e-mail that your stay is coming up as well would be helpful like other hotels. If I received that, then I would have noticed the error. In addition, the facade and exterior of the building still looks outdated. Possibly spend a little more money on updating the exterior of the building to make it look more modern. Driving up to it, it didn't seem visually pleasing. read more

The worst stay I have ever had at any hotel...ever. It started with ordering a burger for room service. It was the only food my son and I had shared that could have made us both so sick. I tried to tell the manager that night how sick we were and I was concerned that possibly some meat was left out. He informed me three times that their burger was the most popular item and he would already know if other people were sick. What if the symptoms hadn't hit someone yet? What if they didn't realize it was the meat? I tried to explain I just wanted someone to know. The next morning (yesterday), shaking and sweating and trying not to get sick, I took the remains to the restaurant and the manager on duty there tried to tell me that you can't get food poisoning for at least 24 hours. She's a manager at a restaurant? As politely as possible I explained that I have been in the food business for 20 years and that is not correct, and once again, I just wanted someone to know. I was officiating a wedding this weekend and had been told I was staying in the hotel two nights. Apparently the reservation was messed up, on whose end we don't know, and the front desk came to the door. It was 1:30 and the wedding was at 5:30pm. I had the blackout shades drawn, I was shaking profusely and they informed me I had to leave. I somehow managed to make it downstairs to let them know I was definitely supposed to be there two days per the understanding. After telling me there was nothing they could do, I said, ok, I have to perform a wedding in three hours. I got food poisoning from your restaurant and I just need to stay put for a couple hours and shower and then I can leave. I told them I had nowhere to go. They told me to leave immediately as people were checking in. I looked around the lobby and did not see a bathroom and told them I would shower, get ready and be in the lobby for awhile, did they have somewhere I could go when I needed to throw-up? In the most sarcastic tone she could achieve, a young dark haired girl replied: I can give you a trash can. The other lady quickly realized that was not the right thing to say and jumped in and informed me I could go downstairs, but too late. I was done. I went upstairs and got ready. Somehow I showered and packed and got on the elevator. A couple had gotten off of the elevator first, and as the doors closed, I saw the female put her key to my door. The "committed to customer service" ladies at the front desk, KNOWING there were problem, didn't even have the courtesy nor the professionalism to check with the cleaning ladies to make sure the room was ready after someone who had been vomiting for hours had occupied it. Other members of the bridal party have other stories that they intend to post. I highly recommend anyone needing a hotel in this area stay somewhere else. read more
