We experienced hail damage to our 1980's brown bubbled skylights. We were so excited to be able to get new updated clear skylights. I did lots of research looking for the right company to do our repairs. We found Skylight Specialists and decided to give them a call for an estimate quote for our insurance company. I spoke with Josh Ewing. He was very knowledgeable about the products, product options, and provided us an estimate for our insurance company quicker than expected. We decided to go through Skylight Specialists and Josh Ewing got everything handled and got our materials on order. Mike called once all the materials arrived to schedule but unfortunately our HOA decided to replace the roofs so it put our skylights on hold for a couple of months. Skylight Specialists were amazing with holding on to our materials and being patient while we waited for the roof to be replaced. Once the roof was replaced, Mike setup the install for us. Kenny and Devin arrived promptly even earlier than expected which was awesome and they completed the job sooner than I had expected. The quality of the materials, the installation, and customer service received during this whole experience was top notch. Disappointing Experience -- No-Show for Scheduled Appointment…read more We scheduled an appointment with Skylight Specialists / See the Light Windows to measure our home for five replacement windows and a sliding glass door. I originally requested a Saturday appointment, but because none was available, we delayed our vacation departure specifically to accommodate their Monday appointment scheduled between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m. Unfortunately, no one showed up. By 1:45 p.m., I had to call the company myself to find out what had happened. I spoke with Blade, who was cordial and explained that my phone number apparently had not been "keyed" into their system correctly. This was particularly frustrating because I entered my information correctly when scheduling online, and they had both my correct email address and home address in their system. Blade said he had attempted to text me and wanted to reschedule for another day. However, when a customer doesn't respond to a text--particularly for a scheduled sales appointment--a simple follow-up email or phone-number verification could have prevented the situation. What bothered me most was that although Blade was cordial, there was no real acknowledgment that their mistake had wasted my time and caused us to delay our vacation departure for an appointment they failed to keep. Instead, the solution was simply to reschedule for another day. Mistakes happen. An incorrectly entered phone number alone would not normally cause me to leave a negative review. The bigger issue was the lack of follow-through. They had my correct email and address, yet apparently made no additional attempt to contact me, and I ultimately had to call them to find out they weren't coming. Window and door replacement is a significant investment that requires accurate measurements, careful coordination, good communication, and attention to detail. If a company can't reliably manage the initial sales and measurement appointment, it raises legitimate concerns about how the actual installation and any subsequent issues will be handled. Based on our experience, I would recommend potential customers take this into consideration before choosing this company.

Of the 6 or so companies I contacted, they had the best communication. I both spoke with one of their estimators on the phone, then later met him at the property. We spoke at length about the remodel I had planned and he answered a ton of questions. I never felt like I was being upsold. The estimator even said he didn't think the bathroom was is that bad of a condition and suggested it might be repairable instead I received a quote/estimate a few days later and it was both comprehensive and priced competitively (2nd lowest of the quotes I received). I ended up electing to have the tub/shower refinished and some other areas repaired, but had I decided to complete the remodel, Vacant Interiors would have been my top choice.

This bathroom was a dream project for me, and hiring Brothers 59 Construction turned what should…read morehave been an exciting renovation into one of the most stressful home improvement experiences I've ever had. We paid $6,300 for a bathroom remodel that included vanity installation, plumbing and electrical modifications, drywall work, wallpaper installation, and finish work. What we received was defective workmanship, property damage, months of delays, and thousands of dollars in additional costs to correct the work. The wallpaper installation failed and damaged approximately $2,200 worth of wallpaper. The wallpaper removal and installation process also caused damage to the walls and baseboards. We were told the issue would be corrected, but instead we spent approximately two months waiting while our bathroom sat in an unfinished and unsightly condition. We later learned that the vanity had been installed improperly and had to hire another contractor to inspect and correct the installation. Had we not sought a second opinion, we could have been facing even more costly repairs or replacement. The most frustrating part was the lack of accountability and resolution. Despite requesting an itemized breakdown of costs during the project and throughout the dispute, none was provided. We did not receive an itemized allocation of the $6,300 project price until after legal counsel became involved. At this point, we have received estimates of approximately $3,950 just to remove and reinstall improperly completed work, remove failed wallpaper, prepare the walls, and reinstall wallpaper correctly. That does not include the value of the damaged wallpaper itself or the time, stress, and inconvenience caused by months of dealing with these issues. Some portions of the work may remain in place, but much of what we paid for must be repaired, corrected, or completely redone by other professionals. We hired Brothers 59 Construction expecting quality workmanship and a finished bathroom we could enjoy. Instead, we were left with damaged materials, defective work, prolonged delays, additional expenses, and a project that still requires significant correction. Save yourself the heartache, time and money and choose a contractor who actually delivers on their promise, doesn't gouge you and delivers a professional product.

Hired this guy to build front and back stairs and replace a rear door on our home. The wood used in…read morethe stairs was not treated and some of the wood used had pieces missing and gouged out. One stair on each set of stairs were pieced together as well as the hand rail in the front set of stairs. He bought the wrong door for the back and bought a new one which did not fit either. He cut the bottom of the floor and put screws in it leaving the metal exposed. The threshold was crooked and he tried to build a frame around the door instead of getting a pre hung door and frame. There were 1" gaps on both sides and the door was missing a hinge. Whe I told him about my concerns, his reply was "I knew you would be a problem". I had to buy weather strip to close the gaps and now have to buy a pre hung door and replace the wood on the stairs and line it up correctly. We paid him $2,230 dollars and now we have to repair all this stuff. DO NOT hire this guys unless you want to repair all the mistakes made. I can't upload the photos but if I did you would see this crappy work that was done.
