Shady dealership with rude, racist, pushy, and unknowlegeable salespeople A friend and I drove two hours after seeing an ad for a nice car from here online so they could look for a better car. My friend was ecstatic, it met all the requirements they wanted. We walk in the door and are almost immediately strongarmed into whatever the salesman wanted to do or have us do and were treated rudely. We told him from the start that we were still just looking around and gathering ideas for right now and just wanted to know if anything else on the lot was similar, but as soon as we mentioned the online ad he pushed heavily for us to buy it. As in give me your license and phone number, I want you to buy this right now, no hesitations, without even seeing it yet. A persistant loop of the following happened for a good ten minutes or so: When we told him again that we were just looking, "What can I do that will help you decide to buy this car TODAY?". When my friend said that they would like to finance with their bank out of personal preference (hard to beat 0% APR after all), "I don't understand, why do you want to finance it through your bank? You can finance it through us and we'll get you a better deal than anywhere else!". And even after my friend stated multiple times that they're still learning to drive manual, have only driven one twice, and are uncomfortable with trying anything out at the moment, "I'll grab the keys! Follow me out to the lot after". I know dealerships are trying to sell their stock, but this salesman took it too far and would not take no for an answer. After we looked at it and got in the salesman had no idea how to start it nor how to shift it into reverse. My friend ended up having to figure it out. When it came to driving it they were already nervous and being pushed into driving something unfamiliar in an unfamiliar place was making them panic. The salesman ignored all of this and instead scoffed and laughed at how (understandably) long it was taking for my friend to get used to the feel of the car. We both kept reiterating how my friend has only driven manual twice and we didn't plan on test driving anything anyway. We just wanted to look. Not drive or buy. He ignored us as he did the previous times that we said anything and told my friend to head to the road to try driving it around town. A town neither of us knew existed a week ago, and a town full of stop signs and hills. Like with anyone still learning to drive a manual, the car stalled a few times and hills took a few minutes each to get up. Instead of at least staying quiet or maybe even encouraging my friend to keep trying the salesman kept laughing and shaking his head. We took a small side street to turn back towards the dealership, staying off to the side since a family was helping their small child ride a bike. This family happened to have a dark complexion. The salesman acted like there was a plague outside the car and made sure his door was locked, rolled up his window, and cowered towards the inside of the car. Both me and my friend were genuinely shocked and my friend asked if he was ok. He replied, "...Yeah. There's just a lot of theives around here...". What the actual fuck. We drove back in silence aside from the salesman's occasional snickering and exahsperated sighs and we both could not wait to get out of the car and leave. Walking back in we sit back at this prick's desk and he immediately starts belittling my friend and asking them if they're ABSOLUTELY SURE that they don't want an automatic instead of a manual. My friend assures him that they do and that, as we've said before, they've only driven a manual twice before now and are still learning. Still not taking no as an answer, the salesman keeps pushing the automatic aspect and we go back and forth with him trying to get it through his head that my friend indeed wants a manual. When he finally gives up on that, he then continues to try and shove financing down our throats and asks my friend for their email. When we do not accept his badgering he stands up and goes to get the general manager. The GM is extremely fidgety but comes over to greet us and asks us if we would like to finance the car at the dealership, and we say no. Again. The smug, childlike grin that was on the salesman's face disappeared as the GM told us that yeah, an email is a bit much right now, nicely told us to have a good rest of the day, and to make sure we make the two hour drive back safely. Nicest thing we saw at that dealership aside from the cars was the GM's understanding. As we got back in my car to leave we could see the salesman making fun of and badmouthing my friend to the GM. All because he couldn't get it through his head what we were trying to tell him in the first place. We came here to look, not drive or buy, and that we're still learning. And most certainly not to be pushed around, made fun of, or be treated rudely. read more

It's very interesting to see what happens when you express how you feel, good or bad, to someone who genuinely cares to know. Bad service. We waited in the cold for about thirty minutes. We found a vehicle we wanted - we told the salesman we were going to purchase it in cash .... he said : "you have to finance the car...". Huh ? They were trying to convince to buy an sub which they claimed was new inventory ...we were there in the summer -- The photo of the vehicle they were trying to sell us was taken in the previous winter --- why ? Out of state (DE) online buyer. Unusually long response time with messaging for info. Whole process took over 2 months. Inaccurate info given, no paperwork to support that info. Nvr received copy of state (CT) safety inspection report that is required by state before car could be sold. Doubtful if inspection was completed as issues would have been noticed (and corrected) during said inspection, as I was told)! As in no backup lights! Was told no check engine light & everything operating as it should. Well it came on after leaving dealership, & issues came up during trip home (250 miles). No response to emails regarding problems.  Obviously not concerned with good customer service. Car not worth the price paid plus needed repairs costs.  Would not recommend. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT ONE READS AND HEEDS MY WARNING PRIOR TO BUYING AN AUTOMOBILE HERE! I had inquired on this place through Cars.Com. Shortly after my inquiry I received a call from someone named Drew. He assured me over the phone that if I were willing to come in, that I would be more than pleased with what they had to offer there. He went on and on about how they are affiliated with a major outfit out of New York actually named Major World (no pun intended), and that he had access to thousands more vehicles in addition to what I might see online. After hearing all this, I felt confident enough to make an appointment to come down so he could show me some vehicles in addition to the one I inquired on that would fit my needs. And so begins my horrible experience.. I arrived at New England Auto World and walked into their main showroom entrance. I was greeted by one of their staff who was kind enough to point out Drew who was actually sitting in his office, at his desk, SLEEPING! I was like whaaaat? One cannot help but notice just how sloppy the entire staff looks here. Shirts not tucked in, flip flops. There were even two employees that had a buffet of fast food on their desk that they were scarffing down like farm animals. I immediately thought to myself..A huge dealership like this and this is what they want their first impression to be? Wow! By this time, I guess my sales person woke up from his afternoon nap because he had made his way to where I was standing. He then asked me to please come sit in his office so he may access his computer to show me what he had available. And, assured me we could walk the lot afterwards to view my selections. After a few minutes of watching him struggle to find what I was looking for, I said "can we please just walk the lot?". He agreed to my request and so we went. After a short time walking, I spotted a Silver Honda Pilot. Which happened to be a vehicle of interest to me. I asked if it was available to which the sales person Drew said "yes it is". I then asked if we could test drive the vehicle and he told me he would need to go locate the keys. I decided that I would give the vehicle a very thorough walk around and closer look while he was off fetching the keys. It had rather noticeable wear and tear and more specifically some dents and scratches that needed to be taken care of. 20 MINUTES LATER! And I mean 20 minutes later he showed back up claiming the keys had been misplaced. Really?? How the F*#% does a dealership misplace keys to a car it is trying to sell? He unlocks the car so I may take a closer look. All seems to be ok on the inside other than the fact that it could use a good cleaning due to it's smelling like COMPLETE ASS. I mentioned this as well as the scratches and dents. He then told me that should I like the way the car drives and feels mechanically, that all of the things I mentioned he would be sure to take care of. So off we go. It drove ok with the exeption that it pulled to the left, had a grinding sound in the brakes, and a check engine light on. Upon getting out, I am bum rushed by this obnoxious guy dressed like he was going to a Polo match and he introduces himself as the owner "Michael". I came to find later his name is not Michael. His real name is "Cort". But hey..If I were selling cars of this low quality and caliber. I may not want to tell people my real name either. That being said. I thought that if we could agree to a slightly better price and the things that concerned me could be fixed. I would be willing to purchase the vehicle. So Michael, I mean Cort tells me that he will not come off of his price. But he will take care of my every last concern. Oh, and by the way. I mention to him that I had some concerns about the rear cargo area being big enough to fit all of my hobby toys which are Rc Model Airplanes and Helicopters. And you know what his reponse was? He said.."Sounds like a lot of fun. I wouldn't know anything about that. I have my own real plane, a Cessna. And I take real helicopters in and out of Manhattan" How much more insulting can one be? Even after all this. I reluctantly put a $1000 deposit on the car due to my dire need to buy asap and scheduled to pick it up the next day. I arrived and they said they were just finishing up the car in the detail shop and that I should get all of my paperwork out of the way. DO NOT fall for this. Be sure to inspect and drive before signing. Though they fixed the dents and detailed the inside. They did not fix the mechanical issues. I drove off the lot not realizing the car has a salvage title as well. They absolutely refuse to fix my issues now that I have paid in full. I have had the car a few weeks now. It is a mechanical nightmare. And to top it all off. The ass smell has come back. TOTALLY DISGUSTED! read more

Worst car buying experience ever. Shady sales team. Will never ever buy from them again even if my life depended on it.

Do not trust the sales team or their backyard mechanics. Better yet just avoid this place. The sales guy knew nothing about the cars there. I don't think he knew much about cars in general. After agreeing on a Subaru and the price he came to me with paper work that had the vehicle a thousand dollars more then he originally told me. Whatever I still purchased the vehicle. Went back two nights later after work to pick it up. It was dark and raining so I just hoped in and drove home. The next day I went through everything and looked around the car. One key no spare, no fobs, only one floor mat on the driver side. This was my fault since I drove home with out checking. I drove back to talk to someone, because they DO NOT return phone calls. I was told since I had left there was nothing they can do to help me. I thought to myself F them I'll never have to deal with them again. Boy was I wrong. I had to bring the vehicle back 4 times and one of the times my girlfriend took it for me. The "owner" is a piece of work. He was extremely rude to her asking her all kinds of questions and wanting to know why she brought the vehicle and not me (I had to work). How dare he treat women this way. I am an extremely patient and and understanding person but I almost lost it dealing with this clown ( the owner) and his shady establishment. This is a list of things I had to bring the vehicle back for and it does not include the repairs they did before I picked it up. -drive shaft (easy to hear something was wrong) -head gaskets (extremely easy to see it was leaking oil) -head gaskets again -battery and alternator (wouldn't hold a charge) any amateur mechanic would notice these things. List of things I've had to repair in the couple of months after the 90 day warranty expired. -timing belt and water pump (which they said they did) -oil leak since they didn't seal everything back after repairing the head gaskets. -rotors and calipers (they just threw new pads on) -solenoid -cat and both sensors -vvt valve I understand some of this is my fault for not having the vehicle inspected before the warranty expired. When I went back to question some of the work they claimed they did they were extremely rude especially the clown. They sell nothing but garbage cars with an attitude problem. The mechanics there are either lazy or incompetent and should stick to doing repairs in their backyards. The service manager should be fired for incompetence and unprofessionalism. It's too bad you can't give one star here because they don't even deserve one star. I've seen a lot of one star reviews and a lot of the same complaints. Please anyone who reads this there are so many other dealerships within a 20 min drive of this dump please drive by this one. read more

They tell you the final price quoted to you includes everything and then when you're signing the final papers there's an extra chunk of change that they try to tell you is a fee the state of Connecticut charges and they have no control over it. After I got home I called Connecticut dmv and that's not true. Other than tax, CT doesn't charge ANY fees. My salesperson was Abel. Whether he's the liar or just the pawn for a lying dealership I don't know. What I do know is that I will NEVER buy another vehicle from them and NEVER recommend them to anyone. read more

Don't waste your time going here! This was the worst car dealership I have ever dealt with. When we went to go look at a car that was advertised online with low miles, no damage, and no issues at all and when we saw the car there were scratches and dents all over the car. Then the sales person, Meesha, said that the car also shakes pretty bad. What's even crazier is that I had called them before I even went just to double check that everything was fine with it since this dealership was about 30-40 minutes away from me and they assured me that everything was perfectly fine with it. So, I don't appreciate being lied to online, on the phone, and also in person that is not the way to run a business. I ended up giving them the benefit of the doubt and test drove another car and actually liked it enough to leave a deposit to hold the car while I considered all my options. After I had decided to go with another car, I called to see when I could get my deposit back. Meesha stated that she had to get approval from her manager and she would call me back in 2-3 days to let me know when to get it. She never called me back after a week and a half, I called back and she gave excuses as to why she didn't call back and told me I still had to wait longer to get my deposit. This same thing continued for multiple weeks and every time I tried to call to ask about it I got transferred 4-5 times before I actually got to speak to Meesha since she was the only one who could help. Getting transferred so many times EVERY time I called was extremely annoying and when I finally got to speak to her each time she would have an attitude with me. After weeks of doing this, she finally told me I could come get my deposit and I said okay great, but of course it wasn't that easy. The only day I was able to go get it was Thursday because I work every other day and get out the same time they close, but that was her day off and she stated she had to be there for me to get it for whatever reason. I tried to ask to leave it with a manager a owner whoever, but she said she couldn't. So she said she could mail it to me and it would be there in 2-3 business days, after a week and a half it still hadn't come. She said she would check on it and get back to me and never did. After calling multiple times And requesting to speak with a manager and being denied, she finally told me that it got mailed to the dealership instead of my house. How is that helping the situation ? But whatever, I go to pick it up that day and she stated that she would be there until 8 I got there at 7-7:15 and NO ONE WAS THERE. I went back a couple days later and had to wait 30 minutes before anyone even spoke to me and then when I finally went to the manager he got it for me, but meesha wasn't even there to give it to me so I don't understand why I had to wait so long just for her to not even be there. This whole situation was extremely irritating and unprofessional on so many levels. They literally played with my money for a month and a half before I got it back. Called to find out information about a vehicle and they seemed like they couldn't be bothered, they kept asking me if I could come in and talk. It was 1 question, what was the severity of the accident it was involved in? I saw no damage but it's important information. All I got was "we didn't know about the accident" and would call me back in less than an hour. Got a call 20 minutes later with a sales expert asking me when I could come In and look at it. I asked that one question again and got the response of "I am unaware of this accident, let me look into it and I'll call you back in a few hours". Never heard from them again. read more

Stay away from this dealership I purchased a vehicle for my son which turned 16 we put $6000 down paid an additional 3500 for an extended warranty purchased a used car for 12,000 I had nothing but problems every single time I brought the car and it came back to me with the same exact problem my son constantly has to put oil in the vehicle once a week the car locks up we now do not drive it ...it sits in my driveway we're sharing my vehicle they wanted it give me 4000 for a $12,000 car stay away from this dealership they not only rip people off and sell you a car that's a lemon but they do not know how to fix foreign cars... we bought a 2010 Audi from there and they told me if I had any issues they could work on it there when I try to have them work on the car there they told me Tammie I don't know how to work on this car you have to bring it to the Audi DeAlership in Fairfield which does not honor my warranty that I bought for the car i would have to pay cash out-of-pocket first then if it's covered they'll do A reimbursement which might take months..... I want to recommend Jorge heart infinity they used to be in West Haven I have dealt directly with Henley I am now taking my car since they moved up to Wallingford and I'm trying to see if I can get rid of this lemon and get into an infinity they not only fix your car there at that dealership but they know what they're doing and they will give you a good interest rate!!!!!! Stay away from this dealership, the manager "Eddie", and salesman "Brian" (real name Felton Imani). Salesman upset that I brought cash to pay-and raised his voice at me. The vehicle was absolutely filthy-and scratched, and now I am having problems titling the vehicle in NY. After checking further, turns out the vehicle was a total loss-the dealership acquired it from the insurance company and never told me (although I asked). No spare tire, promised items never sent, refused to correct problems-filing complaints with Consumer Protection and DMV, and taking to court. read more

Heard about this place from my Dad, went to check it out with my Husband on 9/14, he ended finding a 2014 Nissan Frontier SV that he liked that had low mileage and the Price was good, went back on Saturday 9/17 test drove it and put a deposit down. I was in there in search of a vehicle that I saw on Autotrader's and it was priced at one decent price well after wasted two hours they couldn't find a vehicle and asked me to come back the next day while they understood that I was purchasing The vehicle cash and I had a trade-in and the initial sales man was totally fine. The next day after several phone calls because no one will call me back, The general manager/owner called me after chatting with him he informed me that they do not take cash and that I would have to finance the vehicle that's how all of their cars work I have never heard of that in my life long story short I totally do not want to do business with them nor I wish anyone else to do business with them I think it's very unethical. Super pushy and over priced. They tried to sell me on their service and how great they were at helping people. The car I was looking at was $9,000 and needed to have a ton of work done on it. The Kelley Blue Book price for the car was closer to 8,000 or 7,000. They don't fix the cars up until after they have sold them so I don't see the incentive to fix them well. They said about 5 times, "What can we do to get you in this car today?" When I had already said I was still looking and in fact that I had a couple more cars to see that day. I was also told that I don't seem to know what I'm doing while car shopping and that they will help me. However their advice was terrible and all about how to buy a car from a nice person, not about how to buy a car. I'm not trying to buy a friend, I want a car. The last thing that bugged me was the terrible financial advice they tried to give me.Yes, I am young and this is my first car but I'm not an idiot when it comes to finances. They do not have the customer's best interests at heart and are incredibly pushy. If you do see a car you like here be prepared to haggle the price down. Also be prepared for one of their favorite lines that I heard another salesman use with a customer on the phone and then I heard it from my own salesman with me later on, "Well you drove all the way here and let me tell you why, it's because of our prices. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE of New England Auto World I wish I could give this a zero star rating but unfortunately I can't. I message the dealership then called to make an appointment to view and test drive this car (a Nissan Sentra sv 2017 on sale on Carfax) with no accidents or damages reported great mileage. Which was great. Before driving down there I called to make sure the car was available and not sold so I don't waste my time going over there. So I drove there and let receptionist know I was there to see this car and was told to ask for Eddy. I learned that EDDY was not a car salesman but a finance officer. Then the young lady seemed confused as to why they sent me here to come test drive this car. She proceeded to ask me cautiously if they (the customer service representative) told me any additional details about this car. I responded No. That's when she told me the car was in an accident with clear visible DAMAGEs, CAN'T BE DRIVEN PASS 60 miles it will start shaking and it's a cash only buy no financing sold as is. NO PART OF THESE ISSUES WERE EVER REPORTED/DISCLOSED TO CARFAX in the ACCIDENTAL HISTORY. I wasted my time going over there I felt like they used the price of that vehicle to bait you to come down to the dealership. They wanted me to look at other cars but I refused for the simple fact that they cannot be trusted on the information they would have provided on their cars, unless I have a trusted mechanic with me. So IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON GOING TO N.E.A.W I would advice against it. I should have listen to my gutt and the reviews I've read on this dealership. read more

They will fix your car up "just enough" for you to be able to drive it out from the shop, but they really skimp on fixing the big mechanical issues or the smaller, less noticeable issues with the vehicles. When you go back to try and get stuff fixed within warranty, they will run you around until you can't anymore. Go somewhere else! read more

Matthew A. Mallozzi. I went to New England Auto World looking for a vehicle. I found a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, test drove it & there was a shake in the steering wheel during the road test. They explained to me once it "passed" the safety test after purchasing the SUV it will be fine. About two weeks later I send it back in for repair work because I still feel the shake. They take it for a day, I get it back the next day and the problem is still there. They seem to think its a alignment. I send it back in 1/12/18 for the same issue and yet again it dose not get fixed so they send it to there New York Dealership. They took it and went through the car and found out the transferase was bad so they replaced it. When the car came back I noticed for the 22days they had my Jeep they somehow put on another 1,192 miles on my car in that time frame. I know the car needs to be driven to diagnose a problem but to me that is a bit excessive. Also on that day 2/02/18, I see they hit my bumper while they had my car, so now they had to fix that. i got my car back 2/5/18. They tell me it was the transfer case that was causing the problem with the steering wheel. I get the car back and STILL have the problem. I bring it to another shop to get diagnosed and I'm told that it's something internally wrong in transfer case or the transmission. So they have still not fixed the problem. I dealt with Drew that works at New England Auto he helped me find this car, but once the problems hit a few weeks in he was no help at all. I tried talking to the manager of the dealership and he told me go talk to the mechanic and made no effort to help me. The head mechanic Alffrao talked very nasty to me. Very unprofessional. Any time i go back they run me in circles and nothing gets resolved. At this point I don't want a car thats had a major problem since day one & even before I got the car from them. AND its a 4wd, the two tires on the front are different then the two in the back. This is causing more issues with the car. So i don't know what to do. Im just looking to be a happy consumer with a car thats safe for the road and unfortunately they can't resolve any issues about my car and i didn't even include the minor ones that they haven't fixed. This is by far the worst car buying experience I've had. Please save yourself the aggravation and DON'T buy a car from this place. read more

I bought the car and after I signed a paper and gave me only one key what cost 200 to get another one and just before the warranty is up my brakes are scraping I bought it and they said it was OK 5000 miles later brakes and routers Done I called and they say they take care of the customers when I went down there and why not to do it it waste of my time I would never ever recommend this place to anybody I don't know how they're in businessy read more

At first this place was very nice to me and I was excited to maybe purchase a car from them. When I told them what I wanted for my trade in all of the workers laughed at me and told me I was crazy. I never felt so humiliated in my life, instead of embarrassing me they could have put it in a nicer way. These people are greedy and only care about their money they won't give you any money whatsoever for your trade in and they do not work with the customers. I wasted 3 hours of my day there for nothing. I will never go back there to even look at another car they can keep their vehicles. The process took less than two hours and I was able to pick up my car the next morning. From the moment I walked into the dealership, Varese was attentive and cared about my needs in a car. READ BEFORE CALLING, EMAILING OR STOPPING BY! Do not give them one red cent until all paperwork is signed and you have keys in hand, and from what I've read here in other reviews, pray you don't have an issue, because they treat you like a leper! I gave a check to salesman with the express consent that the check NOT be cashed unless needed for a downpayment on the car. I crunched numbers after I left the dealership and decided that I was not comfortable committing to a 4 year old car that had significant cosmetic flaws on the interior, including holes drilled into the interior plastic panels. I call the dealership and text the salesman and tell them I do not want to buy the car (loan would probably not been approved and I was told my trade in was "less than desirable for a wholesaler"), yet the salesman says the check was deposited! I specifically stated to NOT deposit the check unless needed for a downpayment, and if it was needed, then I would borrow the money from a family member to cover the check - I other words - do not deposit the check! I am incredibly disappointed - no, I am livid. The check may be presented to my bank, and it may go back to dealership for non sufficient funds (which I told the salesman!), and the bank will charge me $40 for a returned check fee! read more

WORST dealership ever, extremely pushy, overbearing, high pressure sales tactics, dishonest, argumentative, rude, and insulting. Vehicles are over priced and trying to negotiate is out of the question so changed my mind and went elsewhere, got a better price and mileage on same vehicle. Went to the dealership to inform them and get my deposit back. The owner was hostile, verbally abusive, cursing and would not refund my deposit. Found out that do this on a regular basis as there are numerous complaints with the Better Business Bureau on file (read complaints on BBB website) and avoid this dealership at all cost. Should have done my homework, do yours and save yourself the aggravation! read more
