The dogs were already 15 weeks old, so could have gone to a home 7 weeks ago, which is kind of odd and why we wanted to meet them. When I responded telling her we wouldn't do the $500 deposit, but could that day and would have the full cash to pay for the dog if it worked out, she just didn't respond. I truly hope what I read on here isn't true, really sad people would do that to dogs. But out of an abundance of caution I would look elsewhere. We found a great breeder in moultonborough New Hampshire, much better things said about them online. Buying a dog is such an important decision, you get so attached and dogs are so special. There truly is a special place in hell for people who are cruel to dogs. I truly hope Wende is not one of those people, but there's just too much smoke here for me not to think there's some kind of fire going on. read more

New England Bernedoodles is also High Country Labradoodles. Do not let Wende's sweet voice on her Facebook videos fool you. Once she gets your money, she does not care about you or your dog. Although her barn is nice (from the videos and photos- because you aren't allowed there in person) she is a poor breeder with zero morals or ethics. For the $4k price tag, you would think you are allowed to see your puppy's parents OFA, eye, heart (etc) test results. No, Wende says she won't allow you to see this because she's afraid you'll breed your dog if she gives you these. The funny part is Wende does NOT give you ANY contract when you purchase your puppy or after you get your puppy. She could easily have you sign an agreement that you will neuter your dog and that you won't breed it. But she doesn't. Because she really only cares about your wallet, not you or your dog. I have searched the public OFA website and have not found anything under New England Bernedoodles, High Country Labradoodles or Wende's name. Maybe I am searching wrong but I have tried multiple ways and come up short. Wende was quick to answer questions I had while I was talking to her about purchasing one of her puppies. The second I paid her I noticed she became agitated if I asked any questions. I thought this was weird. I went through and got my puppy anyways. He came to me via a puppy nanny- hardly any paperwork at all. Just a shot record and a 1 year health warranty that wasn't signed by Wende and I didn't have to sign. Nothing on the parents, I don't even know the parent's birth dates. I didn't know what puppy food they were on (I assumed based on my past dogs coming from breeders that they would come with a small bag of the food they've been eating-nope) or how much to feed them. Forget about asking Wende. She won't respond. I had to ask the puppy nanny. Something to keep in mind when considering a puppy from Wende that I wish I paid attention to- You do not know how long these puppies stay with their mothers. Wende doesn't tell you ANYTHING about them. My past breeder temperament tested her puppies and showed you scores. Wende lets you pick your puppy based on which is cutest on her Facebook videos. Breeders usually expose their puppies to sounds, smells, children. So they are good around families. If Wende does this- where's the proof? For such an expensive dog you would expect the breeder to be doing these things. Fast forward- I get my puppy. We love him and we get attached. Almost immediatley I notice he has a major behavioral issue. One where I wasn't sure if it continued, that once he got big if he would be safe around children. I talked to trainers on the phone and they said no, he wouldn't be. I alerted Wende immediately- she completely ignored me. I got my dog into training right away. I contacted Wende a few more times to keep her updated even though I knew she would continue to ignore me (I was right) about the issue incase he would need to be returned to her. You would think she would want to know what was going on since this was her first time breeding these two parents together. This behavior issue is, from what trainers have told me, either genetic or because the puppies were taken from their mother too early and didn't get this corrected by their mother. Wende ignored every single email. This even made my trainer mad (who used to be a breeder). Again, she doesn't care about you, your family or your puppy. Thanks to my amazing trainer (that cost a lot of money on top of the $4k we spent on the puppy) our dog is doing a lot better and we are keeping him as we are attached. He still has this issue but not as bad. After all of this, the kicker to me is Wende is breeding these same parents together again, and the puppies are expected less than a year from when my dog was born. If you pay close attention, Wende pumps out puppies at an alarming rate. She has TONS of puppies every month. This to me has red flags all over it. I wish I paid better attention before buying a dog from Wende. Pay close attention, ask questions, read the bad reviews and don't ignore them. Wende doesn't have reviews on her FB page for a reason- she made it so no reviews show up. There's so many red flags. Stay away from this fancy puppy mill! read more

We had TWO Bernedoodles join our family this year. Alice and Trixie are an absolute JOY to have around. We lost our two big dogs (chocolate lab & a vizsla) this past year and we were so happy to find New England Bernedoodles so close to home. I'm rather shocked at some of the reviews here. We were also told we couldn't visit puppies, due to bio-security, which is a good thing! And the owner is super prompt at answering any questions we might have. Lastly, these two ladies have THE BEST temperaments! Super trainable, quick learners. And very well socialized. When we were able to go to the facility to pick up our pups, it was immaculate, and super clean. A beautiful facility. The public (including us) aren't allowed to touch any puppies that are there. I purchased my dog 2 years ago and paid $4,000. Lesson learned. My reasoning for picking this breeder is I knew a couple of people that had cute dogs from her and when I originally spoke with Wende she was responsive and great. Told her what we were looking for and she assured us a great family dog that was raised in a home with small children. When we received our puppy we fell in love. Then the problems began. Our puppy came with major separation anxiety/anxiety. We have put so much work into our dog and have done all of the right things with training. This is not something he can grow out of. He also does not like small children (including our youngest daughter) I have reached out to the breeder a couple time because he has been a very difficult dog. He has nipped and broke skin on two separate occasions with children in our family so now we have to separate him from kids. I expressed how disappointed I was that I spent this kind of money on a dog who has mainly anxiety and is now afraid of children and cannot be trusted around children. After expressing this to Wende she told me she hasn't ever dealt with this before and blamed us for the anxiety and would look into it and get back to me. She then blocked me and I never heard back. Since then I have spoken with my other friends who have dogs with her. They also told me they would never buy a dog with her and thinks that she does not do good business and is just breeding for the $$$. We love our pup but will most definitely rescue next time. We are using a trainor to help us manage but this has been a difficult situation. I do not recommend this breeder. read more

I adopted a mini bernedoodle from Wende. My boy, Howie, is a sweet pup (although mischievous!) and a great addition to our family. Throughout the process I was able to get in touch with Wende to ask many questions. She gave me info on pups and parents that guided my decision to pick my sweet dog. I enjoyed seeing weekly pictures on Facebook of the pups. Howie was delivered to my home by a sweet guardian home mom with a bag of goodies; including a leash, harness, blankie, ball and squeaky stuffy. He came with papers from the vet. I also took Howie to my vet the day after he came home and received a clean bill of health. Even after getting Howie I have been able to get in touch with Wende to ask any questions regarding raising our puppy. We love our four legged family member and would recommend reaching out to Wende if you are thinking of getting a pup! read more

We tried contacting this breeder to let them know what was going on, they responded with "we will send this report to our vet and get back to you." They never responded again. Within 6 weeks our beautiful puppy was gone. He passed away. We had reached out over and over again to Wende over and over again; she didn't send a response until we threatened legal action. Ultimately, they refunded us the full cost of our puppy, but we are still heartbroken and out THOUSANDS of dollars of that we spent on not only his treatment, but his well care as well. We sent Wende all of our documentation, and the necropsy report of how bad his neurological condition was. Guess what, they bred the parents again. I recently got a puppy from New England Bernedoodles and had a really disappointing experience. Since they have no review presence, I wanted to warn other families looking for a dog. I thought I had done my research and chosen a good breeder but then when I got my puppy and took her to my vet there were two big issues: 1. The chip number didn't match between paper and puppy, a rather significant mix up for a professional breeder. 2. She has a significant health issue that should have been disclosed by the breeder. When confronted about this experience, the breeders reply was "let me know when we can pick her up and we'll give you a refund". Not the answer you want to hear after falling in love with your new family member. There were a million ways to handle this more professionally and I haven't heard a peep since. When the breeder you work with has a black box establishment and doesn't have any reviews online, you hang onto their business ethics and how they interact with you to understand what type of an operation they are running behind the scenes. Because ethics is ethics. If someone promises you something and can't deliver for the sake of making more money, they can also cut corners when it comes to taking care of your puppy or their parents. I first contacted Wende about a year ago. I confirmed that they have a female spot on a specific litter, paid my deposit and waited for a year. Everything started to go downhill after the puppies were three weeks old. 1) I received two emails from Wende. One "What to Expect" email and one "Puppy Invoice". The invoiced amount was 10% higher than what was listed on the website when I paid my deposit. When I inquired about the difference, I didn't receive a response for 3 days and after 3 days, I was told that the prices went up due to increased gas and vet expenses. Putting a price on your website and trying to charge someone more is called deceptive pricing. 2) The litter I signed up for had 4 male and 2 female puppies. In the same email, Wende told me that a female puppy in this litter is not guaranteed. Based on their own information sheet, New England Bernedoodles takes 2 male and 2 female deposits per litter. The litter had 2 females so she either took more than 2 deposits per gender or decided to keep the females for her breeding program. This is called a breach of contract or again. For me these two were big red flags so I decided not to move forward. There are some additional red flags: - From paying the deposit to getting the puppy, email is your one and only communication channel and Wende doesn't respond to her emails. - You'll never receive any reports on the mother's or stud's genetic tests. - Apart from the photos you see on Facebook, you'll never receive any photos or videos on where and how the puppies are kept. For those of you who wants to work with a trustable breeder, unfortunately, New England Bernedoodles is not one and you deserve to know. read more

I would not recommend this breeder. You can't see the puppies until you pick he/she up at 8 weeks. We had to choose a puppy from pictures on Facebook. I should have done by research but unfortunately, I started the process after the deposit was given which was too late. You also aren't allowed to meet the mom/dad of the puppies or know where they are being raised in their "guardian home". I asked about things like temperament, personality and weight -- breeder was super rude and told me these aren't things she offers. We ended up getting our puppy who had some health issues within the first week...the only thing I could do was return the puppy which wasn't happening since we had bonded with her. Followed the instructions and sent a deposit via Venmo with the litter I wanted. I never received a confirmation email as stated in the original information email. I normally don't post reviews, and my experience with New England Bernedoodles wasn't a bad one necessarily, but where there aren't many reviews out there on this establishment I thought I would share my thoughts. I'll start by saying that my dog from New England Bernedoodles is OUTSTANDING! He's so smart, so sweet, and just the best thing to happen to me in a long time. This breeder really placed the perfect dog for my needs into my home. However, the adoption process was pretty uncomfortable at times. The breeder was very responsive to my questions right up until the litter was 3 weeks old. From there, communications felt a little less personal. I sent detailed info about what I wanted in a puppy, asked for info about the puppies themselves, and all she ended up sending was a generic email that had a few adjectives to describe each puppy in the litter. Further, because I'd heard stories about breeders with unethical practices, I was hoping to visit and see the living situation of the puppies (she posts videos on facebook, but you can't tell a lot from that) so I asked if I could pick up my puppy in person, as opposed to their offered delivery service. From there, a scheduler (not the breeder, some woman she hired) told me I could meet up with the guardian home owner (the woman with whom the puppies had been living) in a Home Depot parking lot to get my puppy. Maybe this was a covid thing, but it came across like they didn't necessarily want people seeing where they kept the pups. To be fair, the breeder was pretty open upfront about the fact that I wouldn't be able to visit the puppies, but I just wasn't expecting this level of protection around the location where the puppies were kept. Once again, I LOVE my dog. I'd even consider getting a second from this breeder some day. But the adoption experience was a little sketchy, thus why I don't feel that I can give this organization 5 stars. read more

Very disappointing experience with this breeder. We had placed a deposit 11 months ago. In June I reached out to ensure things were still on track and was told in a very short response that the mother was pregnant and due within 3 weeks (this was early June). After patiently waiting and still no pictures when the puppies should have been more than 3 weeks old I reached out again and was told that the mother had not become pregnant. I was offered left over puppies from a previous litter or to wait until December for a litter that had available spots. I chose to get a refund on my deposit as I did not feel comfortable doing business with someone who would lie in previous communications. She had also told others who had deposits of an identified go home date- which interesting when the dog was never pregnant. If she would have been upfront from the beginning I may have still chosen to go with another litter. I did receive my deposit back without issue, but wasted almost a year waiting on a puppy.
