(The best kind of recommendation in my opinion) They not only transformed our new love nest by meticulously cleaning it from head to carpet -but they did it with a smile and without any harmful chemicals!! (This is an option the company has which is amazing for health conscious individuals, most cleaning services don't have this option!) I had tried several times to contact them for an appointment and have yet to hear back. Giving that the value of the Living Social deal expires in August and based on these reviews, I requested a refund on Living Social and it is processing now. A message to small businesses as I've seen this happen before: do not do a Living Social/Amazon Local/Groupon type of promotion if you can't handle the influx of business. While you may be very good at what you do (the customer who posted in March seemed very pleased) advertising services that you're not staffed to support through these deal sites provides a bad experience for everyone involved. read more

Ditto on the other negative reviews. Bought a Living Social deal for window cleaning. Called and emailed numerous times to try and schedule an appointment and was not able to get a hold of anyone until the 5th time. I then called them 5 times over the course of a week before the scheduled date to confirm the appointment time and the never returned my call. On the day of the appointment, they never showed up so I called again to let them know. A woman actually returned my call and said I was scheduled for the next day. I made her promise that they would show up since I would have to take another day off work, and she assured me I was in the books and to expect them at the scheduled time. They no showed again. On a positive note, Living Social, was very responsive and understanding when I called them to complain about my experience. read more

Same story here as Beth D. and Lisa M. Bought a voucher on Amazon, scheduled a service for 5/20. According to the person I spoke to over the phone (I think her name was India - same voice at the one in the outgoing message) 5/20 was the day that the cleaners were supposed to be in my neighborhood. A couple of days prior to the appointment we pulled A LOT of stuff away to clear out our windowsills and made arrangements for our dogs to be out of the house so that they wouldn't bother the cleaners. After all that, they were a no-show. Come to think of it, there were plenty of red flags. Their website has very little information, some of the links don't work and there's a typo of their company name in the footer. There's no address on the site - just the number and an email, which was a gmail account. It took a few days to get an initial call back from their office and I had to leave two messages. Even with small places that run group site promos, I've never had someone take that long to call back and I've never seen a site that looked as generic and badly done as theirs. Either these people are really bad at what they do, or they're running some kind of scam. They did the Amazon Local voucher earlier in May and now it looks like they're doing Living Social. I'll bet both Amazon and LS are going to have to refund a lot of vouchers for this one. Only silver lining was that Amazon was great with issuing a refund - it took all of two minutes for me to get a call back from a rep and get a refund confirmation. Then I went home and washed a bunch of my own windows - and they look pretty good! Last but not least... it seems that the name "New England Cleaning Services" is pretty common. There are at least two other companies that go by a variation of that name and their sites look legit, so I had to make sure I was finding the correct company on Yelp. Best way to do it was cross-check the phone number. If these guys are scammers, it doesn't hurt that people probably think they're one of the reputable companies and don't do a lot of research to verify their purchase. Lesson learned. read more

I was very excited to get my windows cleaned and took time off work for them to come. They showed up 1 hour late, came in and tried to sell me more services. They tried to sell me screens being cleaned and window sills. They wanted $7 a window on top of what I had paid for 25 windows to be cleaned through living social deal. That would have been another $175 so I said no thank you please just clean the windows......they went back out to the truck.....said they called their boss......came back in and said "Sorry we can't do the job." I was beside myself.....they said their boss wouldn't allow them to do the windows if they didn't sell me more services and to call living social and get my money back! They then left my house! I was so angry and confused that this just happened. I called living social and had a refund within 24 hours. I WOULD NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING. read more

Bait and switch. We, too, had a coupon but ours was from Amazon. The coupon was to wash up to 35 windows. New England Cleaning subcontracted the job to another company called Mister Windows. The crew that arrived refused to wash our windows unless we also had the screens washed for $200 and 'mold' remediation for $200. When we requested that they just wash the windows they got back in the truck and left. Fortunately, when we called Amazon they quickly agreed to refund our coupon price. read more

This place doesn't even deserve a star - they wasted my time and money. Had to wait a month for an appointment -the day arrives, waited 4 hours........ and still waiting. Never showed up and now they don't answer the phone. I notice that the only positive review is dated 3/10... they offered a living social deal - the reviews coming in now are all negative. read more

Just like Laura L. said on 7/17/15, today on 7/23/15, we were supposed to have them clean 25 windows. First of all, they showed up at 10 am when our appt was scheduled for 1 pm. Secondly, when I called the office to discuss this snafu, they told me they come in a range from 9 a - 1 p. Thirdly, when the 3 guys showed up, they baited and switched, telling me that I needed a "mold" treatment for $199 or else they couldn't clean the windows. I told them I didn't have that kind of $ and they should tell you about this as a possibility when you make the appt. They claimed that not too many people need this treatment. These guys scared me a bit and I wanted them gone quickly. I called Living Social right away and while on the phone with them, one of the guys came back to the door saying he could give me a better deal and I could speak with his boss. Um, no thank you. I was scammed like everyone else. I bought the voucher on Amazon Local and made the appointment. They didn't show so I called and the young lady gave me some excuse about a broken van had them backed-up. I said why didn't you at least have the courtesy to call me? she said give me five minutes to speak with a crew to get hem over to your house right away. She never called back and my attempts to call her resulted in voice mails saying that they were unavailable to take the call. This company should be brought up on fraud charges. They are disreputable, they have lied and deceived all of us who bought vouchers. read more

Bought a living social from this company. 3 men showed up 2 hours past appt time (which I was not upset about.) They tried to sell me window sill cleaning and vacuuming for an additional $150 and I said no. Guy said he needed to verify my voucher in his truck. 2 minutes later I Was told that my voucher wasn't working and I would need to call the New England Cleaning Service office to speak with someone. The woman in the office said I had to call living social and we would reschedule the appt. Guys took off while I called living social who said my voucher was just fine. Called company several times and no one answered or returned my calls. Total waste of my time. Called living social twice on this and yet they are still offering that voucher. Pretty sure new england cleaning subcontracts out the cleaning work because I was handed a business card of a different business. Completely shady! Stay far, far away! read more

Really rate 0 stars - I purchased a window cleaning on living social. It took four calls to get a response for an appointment request. I booked an appointment with a specific representative. I was given a window of arrival time on a specific date. No one showed so I called to ask about when they would be coming. No answer so I left a message. No response. I called again and was told they would check and get back to me. No response so I called again. The representative was annoyed and said he was still checking. I remained on the line and was told I was on the list and the truck was in my neighborhood He then asked if I was also purchasing screen cleaning and mold treatment which were extra charges. I said no just the window cleaning. He said he would get in touch with the truck and send to my house. They never showed and I never heard back. This appears to be a bait and switch and if you don't purchase more services they simply don't show. I do not recommend ever doing business with them. read more

Unfortunately I was really looking forward to having my windows cleaned. Purchased the Amazon local voucher. Called right away, spoke to the gentleman that answered, had an entire conversation about all of the extras they offered that I didn't want to purchase, was given the first available appointment - that was a month later. Spent the day prior getting everything ready that THEY TOLD me I should do. And no one came. Called several times over the next 3 days- left messages- no one called back. Finally reached someone, was told I didn't have an apt. Explained the ENTIRE conversation I had when calling to book. Didn't matter- no apology- never an attempt to make good on a mis hap. Was told" I'll call you back shortly". No surprise- no call back. 5 days later get someone when I call. Has NO recollection of our conversation 5 days prior. Basically said - we didn't make an apt- we were wrong- we must have the date wrong- etc etc. this business has NO idea about customer service. He said they are VERY BUSY, phones a ringing all the time. good luck- got a refund of my voucher thru Amazon- disappointed- really wanted my windows cleaned. read more

I think several of us are figuring out that New England Cleaning Services is anything BUT a reputable business. I, too, purchased a Living Social voucher to have my windows cleaned. I had to call 3 times to get an appointment only for her to call me back the next day and say there was a glitch in her system and it double booked all her appointments. So she gave me another date 6 weeks down the road. I really wanted my windows cleaned so I accepted it, took time off work and left them a voice message the afternoon before saying I'm reconfirming and expecting to see your cleaners tomorrow morning by 9:30am. Well, 9:30am came and went, I called twice and nothing. They clearly don't exist and are a scam or they should not be seeking out new customers on Amazon and Living Social if they do not have the man power to do the work. They are more than disappointing and certainly not professional in the least. read more
