As it turned out various parts of our home required 2 and 3 long wood heavy boards. The company sent out 3 teams and these hard working gentlemen did a PROFESSIONAL, PERFECT JOB. I set my appointment and they came on time to do estimate and were very nice. I told them what I wanted and they said they would call me back to set up a time to do the job. They never called back. Waited a week and a half before calling them. They apologized and made a date to do work. They came on time and did a great job. The gutter looks good. read more

Great Service / Honest advice We've used Gutter Kings for years. They are always prompt. Their people have always been professional. And their advice is honest. Recently I asked them to come out and talk to me about heat strips to prevent ice dams. They were there at the promised time. We discussed the issue and he explained why it wouldn't solve our problem. He could have easily sold me a multi-thousand dollar product but instead gave honest advice. Bad Communication and Totally Unreliable. They were scheduled to clean gutters and downspouts today. Told me it would be this afternoon. I spent the whole day waiting. No call no show. Not sure if this is the same one as Progress Ave in Chelmsford or if they just moved offices. I thought it best to use their own claims from the website and compare them. 'using our own hoses and equipment.' wrong they used my hose 'A no mess guarantee, promising that your home is left as neat as it was found' Wrong it was a shit show. They covered my deck and everything on it with what was in the gutters. Stuff hanging to dry, chairs, etc. Then soaked the stuff that was hanging on the railing with my hose. Going to take some time to wash the deck and chairs, shake everything out to get it back to what it was. Our gutter cleaning service crews are thoroughly trained and supervised to ensure that they perform to our high standards. Hmmn, wonder what their standards were if they used my gear and covered my deck with what was in them. Also I was working from home so they knew I was home and some of the ladders hitting the side of my house made me walk the perimeter to see if there was any shingle damage afterwards. wtf, not worth it when I am sure there are more conscientious folks out there. read more

If I had written 2 reviews and they were both negative, then that's vindictive - with over a 120 reviews (most 5 star) and counting, I find it insulting. These folks showed up before I received any info about when they would be coming. We weren't home. They dumped the gutter cleanings all over the house and yard, (usually this is collected into a trash bag and left for us to handle). It was all over the side of the house, walkways, windows, etc. they also used our hoses and left them all unwound all over the yard. When I arrived home I found 3 young men in my driveway playing basketball. I asked them what they were doing and they pointed to the NEGK truck. I said that nothing had been scheduled as far as I knew and who should I speak to. They said they didn't know and continued to play basketball. When I asked more questions one of them in particular became threatening. Long story short, they were rude, threatening, messy, disrespectful, disorganized. I called into NEGK and told them what was happening and they said they were sorry and it would not happen again and they would take $10 off of the $160 fee. I then got 2 invoices for $160, and a collections letter. I have spoken with NEGK 4 times since the incident and despite speaking to the same people, Jeremiah and Mike, there is never any awareness as to my account or what happened. I finally became tired of arguing, paid the full fee to avoid collections. I strongly recommend finding another company to clean your gutters. read more

I have a colonial house with a family room extension. I was home and watched two guys arrive at my house in a snow storm and clean the family room gutters only. They were here for all of 20 minutes and ran to grab the check off the door before I realized they were leaving. I called the office and understood if they were leaving because of weather but strange they took the check. I was assured they would return within a couple of business days to actually clean the rest of the house but no one has come back. AND, they tried to cash the check but luckily I put a stop to it. I only write reviews that I think will help guide people to another company and also save someone else from a poor experience. I write this today to warn people that the company is very good at advertising and looking professional from the outside, but doesn't perform in a manner of professionalism, honesty, commitment to please or customer service. I called one day when considering getting my gutters cleaned and asked for someone to meet me to give me a quote. I left a message on an answering machine. The next day i got a call from someone that they 'Looked at my location on google earth and came up with a price" I was strapped for time and the budget i had allotted for the gutter cleaning matched to the quote. The day of the cleaning I was told they would be there between x time and x time. I got there at the beginning of the time they told me and there were two guys on my property who were 'just finishing up' SO not only did i not get a call that they were on my property, they were already done. The guy was so unprofessional and told me a slew of problems with the gutters after I forced him to show me what he did and his findings. At the end i said- Do you fix all the issues you just showed me. And he said 'NOt me, someone can from the company' To which i said "can you and your company - put together a quote and or itemized list of repairs needed' HE said sure. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM OR THE COMPANY AGAIN. Two months later i got emails asking for payment. I asked for the quote Still never got it. I ended up paying them begrudgingly. BEST PART_ I got a gutter company out the other day to quote me and he said 'what company did you use, the didn't do one thing!" No return calls and when I did get someone, they were very defensive. We hired New England Gutter Kings to clean our gutters the last 2 or 3 years. We've been happy with the service until now. We'd schedule and they'd just clean the gutters out, no problem. BUT, I recently scheduled a cleaning online and tried to get in touch with them to find out when they would be coming (if they couldn't make it before the gutters froze, then I wanted to hire someone else). No response. Then I discovered one of our downspouts has split and needs to be replaced, so I tried calling them again to find out if they could replace the downspout during the cleaning - their phone service asked for all my information once again to get a call back. Again - no response. Finally, I decided to cancel and sent them an email. Again - no response. I don't actually know if they're still in business because if they are they really should return phone calls to people who want to hire them. As an ex-customer I am offended and disgusted. read more

This business is a sham, and they'll damage your home. The first time they came, they tore down screens from our gutters and left them sitting in the middle of our deck. They didn't leave any notes about the condition of the gutters or work needed (as indicated on their checklist), and there was no evidence that they had actually cleaned the gutters. When we asked for them to come back and make sure that the job was in fact complete and reinstall the screens, they once again didn't leave notes and left the screens hanging off our roof. Upon calling then to discuss the matter, I was threatened with "credit damage" if I didn't pay the bill. I followed up with them again and spoke to someone who seemed reasonable, but didn't follow up with me, and sure enough, the account was sent to collections. Following up again, I spoke with the same "reasonable" man, who had become completely unresponsive. We're now stuck with a bill for Gutter Kings' shoddy work, and a second bill to fix the damage they caused. read more

I had a terrible experience with these guys. I called to make an appointment for gutter cleaning, and that went fine. They called later in the week to say that they were coming on Sunday, when it was snowing and freezing rain was falling in the mix. I was incredulous. They came, pulled a ladder off the truck, put it back on the truck, and left. They didn't clean the gutters or even attempt to. I sat and watched the whole thing from my kitchen table, looking right out the window at them. Avoid these guys. Go with somebody who has a solid reputation. read more

New England Gutter Kings dropped the ball several times on this! I had this job (gutter cleaning) all scheduled for November 29th, 2013 at my home, (this was prior to me going through Home Advisor for a new contractor and quote). I was told when I booked this the end of October early November that someone would call me to price the job, that never happened. The day of my appointment I waited for 1 hour and no one ever showed up, I called and left a voice mail and never heard any return call as to why I was left waiting. I called again the following week and someone took my request and apologized many times, he mentioned the owner or upper manager would call to fix the situation, that was at least 4 weeks ago, guess what still waiting. I mentioned several times to the person I spoke to if you have no interest in doing the job, no problem, I would find someone else local, he assured me I would get a call and get this rescheduled. After about a week of waiting, no one called, so at this point I called Home Advisor and they provided me 3 contractor names, New England Gutter Kings was one of them, but I declined for obvious reasons. By the way the other two contractors called me within 1 hour of me contacting Home Advisor to schedule an appointment. I used one of them and he even put back an elbow that fell out of the upper gutter for no charge. On another note I had New England Gutter Kings replace a gutter this past September at another house, the team that did the work forgot to put in a down spout, not sure how they could miss this since the sales person I met with drew up a diagram of where the two down spouts should go. We needed to reschedule this job to add in the missing down spout. The gutter and down spouts appear to be ok, I will see how the rest of the winter and springs goes to make a final call on the quality of the job. One last item, the job quoted was not what was charged in the end, it was an additional $70.00 which was never mentioned up front about additional costs, also my cable wires I had hidden under the vinyl siding and along one of the down spouts was exposed after the job. Needless to say the customer service and detail to workmanship is definitely lacking. I would recommend looking at another company and checking the references! read more

Used NE Gutter Kings a few years ago and they used a faulty technique for connecting gutters. They came out and admitted that they should not used that technique because it consistently fails. On the day we scheduled for them to come out to repair work, they abruptly canceled and hung up on me. I would save yourself aggravation and money, and deal with another gutter company. I just happened on these reviews and see they are STILL doing a terrible job. I found these guys through the old Service Magic. The house is in Nashua, NH and the work done in Nov. 2012.. My experience with them: Price was right and they came promptly. Right around dusk. And did the absolute WORST job imaginable. Mud and crap all over the porch roof, deck, gutter faces and even spattered all over the second story windows and screens! They had barely left when I called their office to complain. The manager apologized and assured me they would come back to clean up the mess. They sure did. The SAME crew the SAME day, after dark to boot! The second time around the deck got cleaned and that's about it. The mud on the porch roof was smeared around some and the gutter faces and windows not touched. LOUSY JOB X2! I had to haul a garden hose up to the second floor to clean the porch roof and window screens. My wife had to clean the windows again (she had JUST cleaned them for the winter. Boy, was she happy). Bottom line: Find someone else, ANYBODY else. And as far as 'Agnies list' high rating? That list is a joke. The more a company pays them, the higher they go. read more

Paolo, Al and Steve from New England Gutter Kings were here today, a Sunday, cleaning my gutters from about 2:30 until 5:00 PM, well after dark! They worked steadily until they finished, and by then it was completely dark. They were courteous, friendly, professional and careful, worked hard, and were up and down 32- and 40-foot ladders and on the roof where necessary. They did a thorough job removing the leaves and muck from the gutters and downspouts, washed out the gutters and downspouts with a hose, reattached a few downspout elbows, and cleaned up. In November I arranged with NEGK to clean my gutters. They scheduled and rescheduled it four times, but each time the workload or weather meant they couldn't do it. Finally, being mid-December, I and NEGK figured that the gutters wouldn't get cleaned until spring. However, on Friday, 12/16 NEGK called and said they would be out today, Sunday, 12/18. That was great news, except we got 8" to 10" of snow and freezing cold yesterday. I again figured they couldn't do it until spring. Remarkably, the crew arrived today. The weather wasn't too bad, luckily (post-rain and overcast, but in the 40s), and enough snow had melted that they could do the work. Thanks, guys! read more

I hired these guys about a year ago to fix the gutters that I damaged while shoveling snow from my roof in the Winter of 2010. Rudy came out to estimate the project. He was a good listener and wrote a quote to replace my gutter and eliminate one of the down spouts that would be in the way of a proposed deck. I was not home on the day of the installation appointment, the crew they sent did a great job, but forgot to eliminate the down spout. I called and they determined that the crew did not read their work order correctly, they came the next week and did the job again. The quality of the work was good, I suggest that you talk to the crew before leaving for work. I am calling today to have them move another downspout because I am starting the deck project. I had used Gutter Kings for years without a problem as it's not rocket science to clean some gutters. Called to schedule a cleaning this fall, and suddenly the price almost doubled!!! It had been $125 for a two story house for years and years. For some reason, it was quoted at $225 this time around. After a run around with the clueless call center, I was transferred to a "manager" who couldn't care less that I had been a loyal customer for years. He proceeded to tell me they decided I was being under-charged and raised the price to the "correct" price. When I asked why it was such a big jump, his only response was that I had been under-priced since the beginning (!!!) Granted, he didn't actually say this, but I was left with feeling that he thought I had been getting a great deal all these years and that I should quit complaining. Fine. I quit complaining and cancelled the appointment. Easily found another company for the going $125 rate that came the next week. Then... another week later, I got the automated voicemail saying Gutter Kings was going to come clean my gutters the next day. Gutter Kings couldn't even properly cancel my appointment. read more

No! Just No!....Worst experience ever and I never even received their services. I received 3 phone calls for a quote to clean gutters (clearly nobody in the company is on the same page), but they did not give me a quote to install gutter guards that I already purchased (a request for this quote was in my inital email request along with the cleaning request). I was told somebody else would call to give me a quote for the installtion, but nobody ever did call. I called them to alert them to the fact that I was still waiting on a gutter installtion quote, and I was told they were sending my request to the main office. Huh? I called NE gutter kings, but my request was being sent to the main office? Who did I call then? I then received a voicemail that they would arrive at my house to clean my gutters a few days later (again without a quote for installing gutter guards). The voicemail never mentioned a time window for when they would arrive. I called gutter kings back to find out a time. Again, they would forward my question to the main office. Again, no answer. The main office called and stated that they did not provide a window of time. Friday came and I waited around all day. No shows!!!! I called the main office number, which I now had from my caller ID. No appology, but instead I was told that they "may" call to reschedule in a few days. I cancelled services at this point. Nothing, but a complete waste of time and added aggrevation. Jim Blute was the one who came out and Bobby was the gentleman running the job during the installation. They were very pleasant and professional. I needed some updates to my gutters at a new home we just move to. Ken from Gutter King came by and went over what I needed: one short and one long downspout and an elbow added to the existing gutters to help manage rainfall better. When I asked if they could use the exiting gutters, I was adamantly told it would be cheaper to replace the gutters than use the exiting ones. The reason: it is a lot of work to take the gutters off and reuse them that just replace them. Nevertheless I was told most of the work was taking gutters off the house and putting them back on or replacing them. The crew shows up in about week and I stayed home to see the work done. The downspouts were added easily to the existing gutters without any gutters being taken off and reinstalled. They were done in about an hour and half. I called a couple of days later to explain that the bill that included all the heavy work of taking the gutters down and reinstalling new ones was not needed and therefore the invoice should be properly adjusted. After twenty minutes of explaining the same thing over and over again and being placed on hold multiple times, the customer service kept telling me on arrival the crew determined they did not need to take the gutters off. My point exactly! Finally, they offered me a $50 discount on a $590 invoice. Was all the heavy work that Ken claimed during his estimate only worth $50? It certainly didn't sound like it when he came for the estimate. This is no way to do business. I paid the balance and told them to keep their $50 since they seem to need it more than I do. Make sure you get other quotes if you need gutter work done. In fact, save yourself the headache and money and take your business somewhere else. read more
