I had bought a swing set online along with an assembly service. However, the assembly service was very expensive and couldn't come until two weeks after the swing set had been delivered, even though they had more than 6 weeks lead time. So I went online again and found Stan. He got back to me within minutes of my first email and gave me an installation time of five days out at and at a much more reasonable price, even. The two installers texted me the night before to confirm, showed up on time the next morning, and worked straight through until the swing set was perfectly set up and staked securely into the ground. That baby isn't going anywhere soon. I can't recommend Stan and his installers enough! read more

I had a great experience with New England Playset Assembly. Stan was very responsive both with my initial quote request and when I was ready to move forward. They were able to come out and assemble the day after I confirmed my delivery. The assemblers were friendly and on time and did a nice job. Our toddler daughter was desperately missing having access to a swing set during the pandemic, so we called upon Stan and his team to help us choose and assemble a model that was right for our home. We had a very positive experience with NE Playset Assembly. Stan was responsive and answered all of my questions prior to installation and we didn't have to wait as long as expected to get an installation date. Kendra and Christy were on time, very professional, and finished our assembly in half a day. Our Gorilla swing set ended up having quite a few pieces of hardware missing from the packages that were delivered but luckily Kendra and Christy had enough spare parts with them to fill the gaps. They were great about helping me figure out just the right spot for the swing set and we were very happy with the finished playset. I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

Stan was a pleasure to work with. Answered all my calls and great communication throughout the process. Do yourself a favor if you have young kids like me and have zero to little time as it is to do anything don't kid yourself and think you can put up an expansive play set by yourself. Spend the little extra $ and contact Stan. His team was professional and courteous and when my shipment arrived late they accommodated me every step of the way. Day of install his guys did a great job worked 6 hours straight and assembled what would have took me days upon days to finish . Also my son is so happy to have it and already it's worth every penny getting these guys to do the job. A++++!!! read more

Called after our scheduled appointment and tried to reschedule and I told them it was not an option so they canceled all together and refused to work with me anymore. I couldn't be happier with the exceptional service provided by Stan and his team! The scheduling, price, and quality of craftsmanship can't be beat. We purchased a Backyard Adventures Eagles Nest playset from Costco and Stan was totally flexible with the fluctuating delivery dates I kept getting from the shipping company. Putting it together went way over the estimated timeframe I was given but I wasn't charged anything extra. This service is invaluable and I highly recommend them. read more

Doing a search online for a Swing Set Mover is not an easy task. There are not many of these types of companies that do this sort of thing. I changed from one provider to these guys and they did a pretty good job. One note they really specialize in Gorilla Playstructures and I had a Creative Playthings solid wood structure and although they were able to move it, they did mention they do not usually specialize in these large heavy structures. They disassembled in a few pieces and put it on the back of a trailer at my old house and within 2 hours they had it up at my new house on a very hot day. The one issue I had is I told them the area I wanted to set it up and they ended up setting it up on an angle and I had to hire a person to help me move it a few feet forward and then straighten it in the yard. Other than that they did a good job. I would recommend them even though there is a handful of these companies in Boston, these guys were pretty good. They do service all of New England as well. read more

Established in 1978.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. We were started by Stan Hallett (retired 2014) who began building playsets back in the 1970's. Back then we designed and built them ourselves from the ground up. "We began assembling playsets and swing sets in the state of Maine, which quickly evolved to include New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and then eventually all of New England."

All playsets start with a core tower unit in different sizes and styles, with an amazing number of customization options to build some truly unique setups. They also offer preconfigured sets around common elements if you want to just order out of the catalogue. The quality is evident. The wood looks and feels sturdy, and has a lifetime guarantee. This also means that these playsets aren't an inexpensive option, but after comparing a lot of different brands, we found Creative Playthings to be a reasonable value for the price. Linda, the manager at the Holliston location, is a pleasure to work with. She is ridiculously knowledgeable on all the different configuration options, patient with customers and an absolute pleasure to work with. The Saturday we went, she was easily juggling four different families, and all left with an order in hand and smiles on their faces. Also, the Holliston showroom is extensive, and gives you a good sense for all the different options. Our kids absolutely love the set, and we do not regret our decision to go with Creative Playthings.

Poor customer service, and bad installation of swingset…read more Installer did not have all the parts with him. He told us he'd be back to finish the job. He did not return. After numerous calls and emails, the company managed to send the guy back out. Apparently, he added some of the missing parts. But not all, and the swingset is still not complete. So, I am pleading with the company to finish the installation (6 months later!), but multiple emails and phone calls have resulted in only two returned emails, neither of which provides an ETA. The women who answers the phone (same one; is there only one cusutomer service rep?), says the person in charge is dealing with 64 other problems across the country. Maybe they need to hire more people? I don't know. I just know I've got a swingset in the backyard that isn't safe for my children to play on. They're not happy. I'm not happy. And now I'm wasting more time telling my story to yelp.

We waited and waited. Finally we contacted the main office for an update. They were shocked that Aaron left us hanging, and advised they would have him call us back ASAP. Well, he didn't. So we had to follow up AGAIN. Today, June 15th, we have received our bid. Aaron absolutely over priced the job with no price break downs. He lists the materials and the amount of material needed with a total price. He does not list the cost of these materials. $22,900+!!!!! IS ABSOLUTELY outrageous! I know previous reviews state that you get what you pay for but no honey, just no. This is completely inappropriate and I feel like you completely inflated the bill just because you didn't want to do YOUR job and provide us a quote. We will DEFINITELY be taking our business elsewhere. I am so disappointed we have waisted so much time on you.

They are a bit pricey, as should be expected with ethically sourced products, not to mention storefronts that pay rent in the North End. If you are thinking of "saving the money" and doing it yourself DON'T!! Our neighbors are going on three weeks of a partially completed set and ours was done in the rain in 90minutes. They were the same price as Gorilla and lower than the manufacturer's charge for setting it up at other companies. We saved over $700 by buying through Home Depot and using New England Playsets (which was recommended by Gorilla) to put it together. Since the shipping from one company to another (Home Depot to Estes Commercial shipping and then to the Estes Retail hub to arrange the free delivery curbside) is tricky to say the least since no one commits to any date, New England playsets was very flexible and changed our date last minute when we found out it was going to be 5 days earlier than originally stated. $100 deposit was non refundable but like I said they are VERY flexible and so long as you know you ARE getting a playset for them to set up, they are worth booking. They are also licensed & insured and give you great tips on preserving your playset and cool ideas of making use of blank spaces on the playsets! It's what they do! read more

I HIGHLY recommend stan and his company . He is so professional and very accommodating. We ordered the savannah 2 from Bj's and were told it would be delivered within 2 -3 weeks . I made an appointment with stan and then had to cancel ( push the installation back ) because the playscape didn't arrive . Stan was so nice and totally understanding about the delay . We rescheduled based on what bj's told me and AGAIN bj's didn't get us the playscape. Once again stan was so understanding and changed our date . I need to add he fit us in right after the playscape arrived. The day came for installation and it was pouring!!! Carl and Doris still came and worked for hours in the rain! They could have canceled but didn't want us to have to wait for a couple weeks because they were booked. We are so thankful for stan and his team . We submitted our inquiry for a quote Tuesday evening, and Stan responded within minutes. We were satisfied with the quoted price, and booked our installation for 2 days later. I couldn't believe we were able to book a date so soon, as many other companies were booking over a month out. We received detailed information on how to prepare the site for installation, which was very helpful. One of the crew members texted me the night before installation to confirm start time, and was here the next day at the agreed upon time, which was 7:30am. Both men worked diligently from start to finish. The installation took about 8.5 hours total, but they were finished with enough time left in the day for our daughter to be able to play on the set. It was installed well and we felt comfort knowing our daughter will be safe while playing! read more

My experience with NE Playset Assembly was perfect. We purchased a Gorilla SwingSet and reached out to NEPA for the install. Stan and team were able to accommodate our schedule right away. When we had to reschedule multiple times because of shipping delays, NEPA was flexible on rescheduling and super understanding of the situation. True professionals!! Our installers, Carl and his son were GREAT. They were friendly, knowledgable, super professional, cleaned up after themselves and the swing set came out perfect. I contacted New England playset late one night after attempts to hire someone to assemble IKEA furniture using Task Rabbit failed. It was Labor Weekend and help was hard to find in Cambridge.In less than an hour, late on a Saturday night, Stan responded and said he could help. Early the next morning, on Sunday, Kendra called and we arranged for she and an associate to assemble the furniture at 8:00 A.M. the following Saturday on Labor Day weekend. We had to reschedule once due to us not receiving the playset on time, but they accommodated and rescheduled within a few days. With rain in the forecast for they day in the early afternoon, they worked through breakfast and lunch in an effort to beat the rain...which they did. The playset came out perfect.
