We ordered our swing set 2 1/2 weeks ago and they promised it would be delivered by the end of the month. I had read the previous review on here, and was preparing myself for a long wait. BUT, they installed it yesterday and it looks GREAT! They are VERY reasonably priced, especially compared to some of the bigger companies out there, and we were not willing to take out a second mortgage on our house to pay for a swing set!!! So we went to Billerica, Mike helped us. He is FANTASTIC. We couldn't be more happy with our choice! Also we couldn't be more happy with the price. He helped steer us in the best direction for our growing boys. He spent a great amount of time with us, while we went back and fourth on what we wanted to spend/what we actually needed. We appreciate the time he took with us. Our set was installed today, the kids had a blast watching him install it. I purchased a rather pricy play set for my kids expecting the beautiful quality that's displayed in the yard of the shop. Unfortunately that isn't what I received. Before I made the purchase I was sure to ask some key questions, weight limits, materials used, asking how and if the wood is weather proofed and sanded etc. We were assured by the owner that "all the play sets are weather treated and sealed to withstand the local weather." "Just look at how beautifully the ones on display hold up! Yours will be just as nice" we were assured. Fast forward to after we made the $2k purchase. We wait longer than we were quoted for delivery. Then they damage a fence by sliding the play set over it instead of lifting it. Ok, no worries. I don't stress little stuff like that. They try to leave without getting the set level, which is also no biggie since I called the guys on it and had them fix it. All in all I'm initially ok with the purchase. Not thrilled as it does not look as nice as the displays, but it's not BAD. Skip through one winter. ONE. Wood is cracking, mold is starting to form on the CLEARLY non weather treated wood and the dowels are falling apart as are some of the larger support beams. A disturbing number of the bolts and screws are fully rusted as well. I call the store and leave a VM. Wait 3 months for a reply, nothing. I repeat the process of calling and waiting for a reply for a year. 5 calls total and 5 voicemails left before I finally get a call back. The owner calls, and tells me "the wood I use is so good it's practically impossible to get" followed by " well I'm not going to SAY this never happens and your wrong... But we'll have to see." Condescending at every turn. Guy comes out and tells me he never said it was weather treated. Never said the wood was sealed. And tells me the cracked wood is perfectly safe. This guys buzz words seem to be "well what do you want me to do about it?" Because he said it over and over. On the phone and in person. I told him I wanted the moldy and cracked pieces replaced and/or a partial refund. He said he'd "go talk to his guys and see what he can do" So here we are, 1.5 years after the purchase and I have something much much less well built than what they claim to make and sell. I'm waiting to see what they do to make this right, and will update my review accordingly but for now, my untreated cracked wood and rusty bolt ridden play set gets a 2 star. And the service is on its way to creating a bbb complaint, but I do believe in fair reviews and giving people a chance to get things right and/or make them right so I will post an update when and if anything happens. read more

3-4 weeks have past and still no swing set. Ended up taking 7 weeks. The product looks good and the price is right; but they must operate on a skeleton crew that they cannot deliver on time. I suspect the reason why there are not more reviews is due to the way their name is spelled. Order 2 months in advance of the date you want it and you'll be fine. read more

Nice swing sets...but non-existent service. Ordered a swing on the phone as a gift...was charged....no item. Called, left messages, left emails - no action taken. Had to ultimately get charge-back from credit card company because I just never heard from any one. 10 calls :( read more

I was told the swing set will arrive in 4 weeks and then it came in 7weeks later. I tried reaching them several times to enquire and nobody picked up the phone. I suppose they should be somebody attending the phone when you are spending hundreds on a product. I havent used the product yet. read more

Buyer beware!!! We purchased a shed from this guy and left a 50% deposit. He has asked us if the driveway was accessible and if there were any fences that he had to maneuver. We told him there wasn't. The day he delivered the shed, he showed up with one guy and some fence posts to move a 1500lb shed up the driveway. He got all pissed off when he couldn't unload the shed properly. He then proceeded to call my mother dishonest and that we lied to him. He accepted zero responsibility and wanted to build a custom shed at an additional $500 cost. We told him it wasn't out fault that he didn't survey the driveway in the first place and that we shouldn't have to pay the additional money. He wanted to then keep 25% off the entire shed cost saying how he was losing money. Hello, we were the ones who didn't have a shed and were out 25% or $500. My mother was too distraught since she had just lost her husband and didn't want to deal with this crook so she offered him $300 to go away. We got our deposit minus the $300 and still have no shed. I later heard from a friend who got a shed there and ordered a ramp for her shed. 2yrs later she still doesn't have her ramp on her shed. Trust your gut instinct when you deal with this guy and you will stay away. read more

We moved to a new home in Arlington on June 7th. Good friends have a Swing Senter playset at their house and suggested we go up to Billerica and order in person. The staff was helpful, quick, efficient in showing us the options. We came with our yard dimensions in hand and we were out the door in 14 minutes. Most importantly, they promised a 2 week delivery and set up before my son's 4th birthday party at the new house. They delivered in 8 days!! The quality is as good as any for the price, the pricing is very competitive when adding all in costs ($1560 including tax, delivery, set up, for a 4 item set with 5x5 deck, slide and rock wall/ladder). Delivery and Install was timely, clean, and very pleasant. I would use the Swing Senter again, but the playset will be the only one we need for years to come. High quality treated pine (no knots, really some of the highest quality boards I've ever seen and I have experience in lumber), can't ask for much more. In the world of online shopping, this was one of those things I wanted to see first. Glad I did, glad i ordered in person, got exactly what we wanted and was delivered well before we expected. The office is a bit of dump, but a good solid group of people to buy from. read more

Extremely bad experience with the Billerica Swing center. We ordered an extremely expensive swing set March of 2012. They told us 3-4 weeks for delivery, ended up taking almost 2 months. What we are really upset over is the lack of customer service or care for the customer. Would NEVER return phone calls. Only after 3-4 calls would we receive a call back. Though they had zero problem taking our money when we ordered the set. Funny how that is. 9 months after installation of the set the rock wall fell apart. Screws snapped and young child took a fall backwards. 4 panels fell off. Was not hurt fortunately. When the Swing Senter was notified of this issue, it took multiple phone calls for them to return. They replaced the rock wall finally after 2 months (unacceptable), and less than 2 months later the rock wall broke again. Another child fell because of it. again they were notified of this issue and again, no phone call back. We were then informed by an employee there that there was a problem with the hardware they used to build swing sets. This was more alarming because they now admitted they had a problem and were not doing anything about it! No indication of how they were going to rectify the issue or compensate us for this faulty set. We drove down to the Swing Senter and sat down with the owner. He had been informed of our problem and the only thing he said to us was "what do you want me to do". We responded by saying at this point we were looking for some kind of refund on our money because we were completely unsatisfied with the product but more importantly the lack of concern about having two children fall off of a defective swing set. His response was "i think that is unreasonable" . He was again reminded that two children could have gotten seriously hurt because of this. No response. No offer to return at least some of the money we gave him 1 year ago. Clearly not concerned over the child safety issue. He got his money and that was that. Very disappointed with the way this company is managed. We were more than happy to work out something with this company because of this issue but with the lack of concern and extremely poor customer service we would never recommend this place to ANYONE. We left the office realizing that they are only concerned about the money they take in and not at all about the customers that give it to them. Please do not buy anything here. If you have an issue, you will not receive phone calls back. Go elsewhere to purchase something better with better customer service!!!! just a note....when i took the swingset down, myself. A majority of the large bolts and other screws were extremely rusted and corroding. After 1 year!!!! read more
