By the time I was finally able to sit down at the reception desk, I was two minutes late. Despite that, the doctor refused to see me and told me I would have to reschedule. I understand offices need policies, and I respect that appointment schedules matter. But for a first-time patient dealing with an unfamiliar building, unclear parking, and a backed-up reception area, refusing care over two minutes felt unreasonable and dismissive. There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no effort to account for the circumstances. This was a very frustrating and disappointing first impression, and it left me feeling like patient experience was not a priority here.

They didn't send an email, text, or anything to let me know my appointment was canceled. They didn't even put up a sign at the site. Most recently I found out I was exposed to a scheduled a test. They were full, so I scheduled a week in advance. When I showed up I waited 3 hours in line and then was told that they were out of tests. Why would you schedule appointments when you don't have tests? Why wouldn't you count the tests you DO HAVE on the day and tell people so they don't wait for 3 hours? I work online and had to call in and miss a whole day of work and didn't even get to take the test. One of the reasons I chose this testing site is because Curative uses a mouth swab that they say on their website is 90% effective- even more effective than nasal swabs. Upon further research the tests were approved quickly because of the emergency in March, but since then have not been peer reviewed at all. Basically they just claim on their website to be effective but there's no proof. I will not be returning to Curative for these reasons. I always try o be nice to the workers who are risking their lives to administer these tests- but Curative's administration is just horrible on every level and I can't support them.

My nurse was informative and personable, and really went the extra mile- she actually called me a few hours after my appointment because she thought she had failed to thoroughly explain something to me regarding my follow up. And most importantly my doctor, Joanna Lepkowski, was wonderful! Easy to talk to, took her time while being efficient, and very knowledgeable. I also did not have to wait very long (maybe 10min), thought the office was easily reached by transit, and have not had any difficulties with insurance etc. I am happy to have chosen Advocate as my healthcare provider. However, I will say that it has been extremely difficult to schedule follow up appointments. I have called several times and been on hold forever before getting through.
