Each student is well known by their teachers & celebrated, encouraged & dare I say, loved? Valued? It is truly a unique place. In addition to that rarity, the school is FUN! They find ways to teach that are creative & engage kids because they are having a good time. This is not your average education but rather a living breathing education-full of excitement. For example, chemistry may be taught via cooking and biology through a mystery that needs to solved. The headmaster is a graduate of Waldorf (Steiner) school & has brought the excellence of that education to her program. You won't find ANYTHING else like this in South Florida. I can't think of many schools where a child is so well cared for emotionally as well as academically. If you are lucky enough to stumble upon this little gem in South Florida you won't want to pass it up. Unconventional? Yes. However, it WORKS. The children are receiving an A+++ education in an alternative setting with amazing educators who see their 'job' as a calling & are head and shoulders above other educators. Give it a try--they welcome any child to come for a day or two visit so that they can see first hand what it is all about. Your child will come home raving & will actually be EXCITED about a SCHOOL! Meet with the headmaster and see for yourself what an elegant, caring, extremely intelligent, strong and capable woman she is. I can say that I feel blessed that my son has the chance to attend this school. I could go on and on but I suggest that you check it out for yourself. Also, it is a private school and education of this quality cost money. What better investment is there though really? However, I should mention that that do have tuition assistance and will also help you look for any scholarships that you may qualify for so, don't let the fact that you have to pay tuition deter you from at least checking it out. Where there is a will there is a way. If every child were given a healthy place to grow and learn like this, the world would be a much better place. Heck! We should ALL be seen, honored and celebrated the way students are at this school! It is located in the Jewish Community Center however, it is NOT a religious school BUT it IS a 'spiritual' school in that the students are taught to care for one another, the greater community, the planet and environment and THEMSELVES. This being said, it is NOT some 'Hippy' school. It is a serious program and a lot is offered and expected from the students academically. I would say the classes are more akin to an undergraduate program at a good university. They are certainly far more challenging than a regular high school-private or public. The students are expected to research & write at a college level (They are WELL taught and guided to be able to do so). They all take Latin, do community service as well as internships in fields of their own interest. They research utilizing real scientific publications and are taught to properly use them. This is an exceptional college preparatory program. Upon graduation they should be able to coast on auto-pilot through an undergraduate degree. There is also a STRONG sense of community. No high school 'Clicks'. No one's excluded, there is NO bullying or teasing-PERIOD. All of these 'details' are paid close attention to by the staff. I could go on and on but , see for yourself. The headmaster's name is Wendy Weiner and she welcomes visitors. Mrs. Weiner is an exceptional human being. When she felt that South Florida was lacking an acceptable school for her two lovely daughters to attend--she OPENED her own school! Wow. That alone speaks volumes about her but she is also a warm, kind woman. She's strong and capable in a way that inspires others just through her presence. Her children are both amazing young women and demonstrate what an awe-inspiring mother Wendy is. Her eldest daughter is now attending college where she is a member of a co-ed 'Community Service' Fraternity. Clearly she is following in her parents footsteps and giving back to others. Mr. Weiner has also played an essential part in bringing Conservatory Prep to fruition. He is a warmhearted, friendly and earnest man. He works with sincerity and I swear the man has stealth skills! His modesty and humble way of keeping all the wheels in motion is admirable. A husband and wife team adds to the feeling of community that is rarely found anymore and set's a positive example for the children of a loving, intact marriage. Every detail in this tiny school has been considered and achieved. The students, faculty and parents/guardians form a community that touches my heart and feels more like an extended family than simply an institution of learning. "They're not the best at what they do, they're the ONLY ones that do what they do." ~Bill Graham

I seen change in people coming and going. so I've been there quite a while. I have been faithful. My family has been faithful. It truly saddens me that in the time of need, as a church member and losing my 91-year-old grandmother, who also was a member of your church, passed away and when I reached out for help the attitude, the silence the no nonchalant response that was given was uncalled for we are faithful members to the church. we help support the church and we needed help from the church. In this time of need and grief the fact that the pastor could not do the funeral in the church or at least send a pastor to where we will have the service instead could've been an option, but was not even offered as one we strictly got a no! The excuse of that was, because of kids camp going on. I understand it is important. I have been part of the kids club. But in a time of need, it should be where your church helps. Your church stands by you in this time, they did this to my mother's funeral couple of years ago because they needed to prepare for their Halloween night. Trust me I get it. These are important events. Absolutely you want to put a show on and bring people in. Definitely understand that but as a member for many years needing help two times from grief and loss and losing people it's a shame that nobody stepped up or nobody could help at a funeral service of a member or for a member of the church. ever
