My shopping experiences have been good but I've never felt so unappreciated donating. My mom, a…read morenonsmoker, passed away and probably like most people in this position, they donate to local thrift stores. I first brought a couple boxes of teapots she had stored in her garage. After going through the donation drive thru I decided to take a trip inside and look around. They were immediately putting those teapots into a glass case in the store. As the women was putting them out I mentioned they were my mom's who had just passed away and she went on a tirade about how filthy they were and she had to wash them. She made me feel horrible but the funny thing is when I stopped there a week later they were all gone, sold! On another donate day, I had bags of mom's clothes and a few boxes of housewares, hard goods. When the guy outside noticed I was smoking in my car, he refused to take any of it, which was in my trunk. He said it all stunk like smoke and they didn't want it!! How it came directly from my mom's house and picked up smoke odor that quickly is beyond me. I went across the street to Goodwill and they took it all and thanked me. I have vastly changed my opinion of this store and am sorry I have ever donated anything there. I'm sure they made good money on all they things donated from mom, including furniture that they had no problem accepting.

This is exactly the type of place I think of when I want to go thrifting. There is stuff in every nook and cranny and I probably made about 4-5 rounds throughout the whole place. The owner was very kind and had a beautiful cat that followed me around for a bit lol I spent $78 and got SO many treasures! If it were closer, I would go every week. I will be back here for sure. Nothing of interest for us this trip, but for people looking for second hand baby goods, this place had it. Baby stuff galore. High Chairs, toys, clothes etc. There was a young boy and his mom picking out a game together. It's nice to see people reusing people's unwanted goods. I guess that's one of the cool things about thrift stores seeing once loved goods going to someone else who is excited about getting it.

I found a baseball mitt shaped chip bowl with no price. I offered $1 and cashier accepted it. This book pictured was written in 1958 and predates "Where the red fern grows." I've received over 200 likes on a Facebook group page. So score! Also found a ceramic pig I didn't need for $1. It's nice to shop Thrift stores not in the metro, as prices sometimes cheaper. Always buy it when you see it. A newer version of this book is on Amazon. Your next treasure may be waiting for you here.

It just so happens that on the day we visited, the store had a small setup of free hot apple cider and little sandwich cookies available for shoppers. This gave us a special glimpse of Minnesota hospitality and set things off on a great foot on a very chilly day! We looked through Christmas decorations and old games and I was thankful to find an excellent prank hallmark ornament for my sister and a nostalgic hallmark ornament for myself--a little mouse atop a spool of thread, sewing popcorn kernels for a Christmas garland. We looked at a variety of scarves and coats and then found a cute, new/barely-used, button-up shirt with little mustaches for my partner. All of this--delicious hot cider, Christmas and childhood nostalgia, easily transported "souvenirs" from our visit to Minnesota, and a crisp new shirt for my partner--all for less than $10 made for a pretty great first-time thrifting experience and a memorable stop on the trip for me!
