hello this is the front desk/manager of new jades house here! my parents and I just got a call today from a guy that said his grandson or son had ordered from our online website, but he stated that he didn't receive his second General Tso's Chicken, though CLEARLY what we received on our end was only ONE General Tso's Chicken, I spent the last thirty minutes on a call with this man explaining how I can send a screen shot of what we received but he kept persisting that he didn't want to see what we got on our end, I fear we would have resolved this issue so much quicker if he had just accepted and agreed to look at the screenshots I sent of what we received for his online order. He even said he was charged 49 dollars and 75 cents while on our end the total that was charged said $39.24. He even on the call with me threatening saying this was "fraud", he was gonna file a report and said my parents restaurant was extra charging the customers when it was a delivery online order through door dash and we had no control over the grand subtotal of his order he ordered ONLINE through a THIRD PARTY, he added he was going to post this on social media talking about how terrible out establishment was because we wouldn't give him a refund nor give him a second General Tso Chicken that he never even order nor paid for. I told him he could take this up with our online website company and door dash I can even hand him their company's phone number hence they were the ones who charged him not us. But he kept insisting for a refund or we "remake" his second General Tso Chicken he didn't even order nor pay for. The screen shots of proof is sent in our restaurant GOOGLE REVIEW, the screenshots just show that we only received ONE order of General Tso Chicken instead of two like he insisted and a voicemail message that he sent me when our phone line disconnected by ACCIDENT. if anyone sees any videos on any platform like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok please reach out to my email chenminx7@gamil.com as this is a highly big misconception and this customer clearly didn't want a solution to a problem that wasn't even caused by me or my parents and our restaurant. read more

Absolutely disgusting. Worst Chinese around it all has a weird and heavy "tap water" flavor. Not only that, picked up a DoorDash one week, used restroom, empty soap container.... The following week I go in and still the same empty soap container. So that tells me the employees are NOT washing their hands. Also seems like they don't change their grease. Ordered General Tso's Tofu and specified white rice. Got the order home and no rice! Disappointed!

Their fried rice is the saltiest I've ever tasted. Just beyond horrible. A large wonton soup with 6 wontons and broth is ridiculous. I once ordered a large wonton soup there and it was 1/3 empty. Wife's sweet and sour chicken was tough. This is a huge nope. Never going back. read more

This place is a little bit further away from my apartment, but we always get the lunch specials when I order from here. I think the portions are slightly bigger than Wok, but I will say, this is a better option than the McDonalds there. The staff there are very friendly as well and they don't charge for delivery. The food is also amazing, slightly better than Wok, but it's still a great place. I would recommend both depending on where you are at during the day. read more

It's tough to rate Chinese food takeout because I know everyone has their preferences and somethings taste good to one person but not the next. I personally do like this place and I love the staff. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the children work the front desk/phone and they do a great job. I give them credit for handling the rush at times when we call and not ever screwing up our orders. I know working in a Chinese take out place can be tough and take a lot of hard work, I had a friend who grew up with this life and so I always say hats off to them. That being said, I always order my usual healthy steamed chicken with broccoli & string beans with extra brown sauce because I love being able to put my own amount of sauce on my food. There's nothing wrong with their original chicken with broccoli and/string bean already stir fried together I just personally like it better this way when it's separated. I also order the Singapore Mei Fun and the regular vegetable Mei Fun and both are on point delicious. This is my go-to place to order Chinese food as I've tried New Panda near the old Kmart and China Taste before on Main Street and both of those didn't compare to what I get at Jade House. Also, price-wise Jade House was the cheapest out of all 3 for each item. I have never had an issue with my order being wrong or too slow. It's always ready within 15 minutes and is usually piping hot fresh even the rice. Leftovers taste even better I recommend this place and will continue to order from them. read more

My boyfriend and I ordered 3 dishes from here during the lunch special. General tsos with fried rice, which was alright. BBQ ribs... which had nearly no meat... and the meat that we did find on the bones were absolutely charred. Our last dish we ordered was beef chow mein... correct me if I'm wrong, but that's supposed to be a noodle dish? (We googled it haha)... we received a container of steamed cabbage with shrimp. We ordered no shrimp whatsoever. Decided to call and ask, and they told us that is what we ordered. Great, we didn't know your chow mein was a cabbage dish, but we didn't order shrimp. We wanted noodles... so they suggested over the phone, that we order lo mein... which we will gladly pay for, BUT, they tell us we have to pay for the wrongly made cabbage dish... because it was ALREADY MADE?... The worst customer service ever. We will not be ordering from them again. read more

New Jade House - a plastic container with food in it - Chinese Near Me - Ephrata, Pennsylvania

would give 0 if i could. ordered a beef chow fun, 2 egg rolls and an egg drop soup. absolutely nothing tasted good in my order. the crispy noodles were more than stale, the soup was just water, and they put a weird sweet orangey sauce in the beef chow fun. doesn't taste like any soy sauce. it's incredibly dry gets stuck down your throat if you're not careful.. i will say the beef at least tastes fresh. the egg rolls are ok. lots of vegetable and they're very crunchy. i very politely asked for a remake or refund over the phone, even apologizing for having to ask, and after lots of yelling in their background the little girl on the phone told me in such a rude way that i couldn't get my dish remade or have a refund. i tried to argue as politely i could knowing she's a kid, so i just gave up. so sad her guardian/ the chef couldn't handle a customer complaint. PLEAASE don't waste your money here!!! i had to just throw everything away, ($16 down the drain) nobody in my house wanted to eat it. go to CHINA TASTE on E Main St for the best Chinese food in town. i only ordered here because China Taste is closed on tuesdays.. read more

I moved to the area in 2018 and since then I have been ordering from Jade House. Personally, I have had better however within the Ephrata area for take out Chinese food this place is good and I like the staff. My food is always prepared quickly and it's delicious. I recommend: Singapore mei fun, healthy steamed chicken with broccoli, roast pork fried rice and boneless spare ribs. So good! read more

This was some of the best take-out Chinese we'd ever had. We got the Sesame Chicken, Pork Lo-Mein, Beef With Broccoli, and some "chinese donuts" (which turn out to be Pilsbury biscuit dough deep-friend, covered in powered sugar - surprisingly tasty though). Everything was fantastic - though the donuts were a bit weird - and it made amazing leftovers at the NEXT hotel we stopped at. Highly, highly recommended. Also, amazingly cheap... all that food, and our ticket was like, $20-ish. read more

My husband is generally not a Chinese take out type of person, but since it was a snow day and we didn't feel like driving we ordered online for delivery and oh yum was I happy we did. The service was friendly and fast. The food was hot, fresh and the flavors were outstanding. This is the only Chinese take out in the Ephrata/Akron area he has liked and we have tried them all. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good place to eat. read more

Was here the other Monday when my usual favorite was closed for the day. I used to think this place was better, the staff is super nice, and even gave me a bottle of soda, unfortunately, I just did not care for the food. The actual sit down restaurant is pretty nice, and clean, well organized, and well run, there are other places to get food with, in my opinion, better flavor. I would recommend giving it a try, since everyone's palate is different, but this one isn't for me. read more

I am or should I say was a regular at Jade House, but I am done. The last 3 times my daughter and I ordered the food had no and I mean NO flavor. We Loved Jade House for the Past year but something has happened and when we order the fried foods are just not cooked. 6 months ago I was recommending this place to other people. Not anymore. Take this review with a grain of salt. I'm not a big Chinese food guy. I enjoy more Middle Eastern/Mediterranean cuisine. Let me start out by saying they were very pleasant. The food took a little while than expected so they brought us out fried wanton with hot mustard and duck sauce packets. Two things; packets? And don't Chinese restaurants usually serve fried wanton regardless? When the food did come it was very greasy. Don't get me wrong. I did order fried food, but judging by the temperature of the food and the amount of grease on the plate, it went straight from the fryer to my plate. It was a bit too much. A final minor detail was the French fries pictured on the menu is not the kind they serve. So if you have your heart set on crinkle fries at a Chinese restaurant for some unknown reason, you're getting shoes string fries. read more

I really enjoy the "Family Deals" that Jade House offers. I've also been very happy with the service and their food.

Past few times we ordered it was awful. I don't know what they did to change the chicken they use but it does not taste like chicken. Taste like your eating all fat, the texture is rubbery. Last time we order from here. read more

This is our new go to Chinese restaurant...they are fast and friendly, and most importantly, the food is good.

The food was great, but what was even better was that I told them it was for my son's birthday and they gave us free soda and small lo mein. They were prompt, courteous, and the food was hot when it got here. Not too many veggies as another reviewer said. Just lovely. read more

I used to get this alot, was always mediocre. Recently i've noticed the owners have children working the counter as well as running around the kitchen. When I order over the phone the order is always messed up, ( because of the 11 year old girl who isnt very fluent in english, not her fault). This restaurant started out very promising...ggod portions without overloading the vegetables so you would get less of the proteins...but as time has gone on the food quality has dropped as well as the overloading of vegetables to give less of the proteins..i actually had to bring back food because the rice was clumped and the food was covered in a disgusting gel...some of the food is still good but i think i am finished here which is too bad because it was real good and the people are very nice. read more

the place is similar to the nearby Chinese restaurant in this area, China Taste, very bland. when I go to any quick in/out Chinese restaurant for the first time, I always order the Singapore noodle mei-fun as the base line on how well the dish all comes together. my wife does the same but orders the general tso's chicken. both dishes fell short in our opinion(s). the mei-fun was not at all spicy nor had enough ingredients like eggs, pork, or veggies, and scallions to bring the burst of flavor. read more

I order from Jade House because the quality of the food and the cleanliness of they're facility. THAT'S IT. If they say they'll deliver in 45 minutes, expect it in about 3 hours. Also, they will ARGUE with you if there is a discrepincy, and REFUSE a refund or exchange. I wish this area had better alternatives for Chinese food, but the other places in this area don't compare as far as taste and cleanliness go. Otherwise I'd never order from them again. read more
