After much discussion, we established an appointment time when I'd be home, but the technician came when I was out, an hour ahead of time. And instead of coming to my house, he actually fixed a neighbor's door, not mine. I discovered this when Christy's called to tell me they'd completed the service and what kind of repair was required. When the service tech returned a little while later to look at my door, he made a single adjustment on a bolt which took 2 minutes so that I could fully close it. I was told they would order a new bottom panel for the door and that the cost of the service call was $95. When I questioned the cost of the service call, Tom told me if I had them replace the door panel, he'd knock $50 off that charge. A few days later, I received their bill, itemizing the work they'd done on my neighbor's garage door, with a $95 charge for service. I called back a few days after I received the bill to ask about when the door panel would be in. It hadn't been ordered yet, and Tom told me he'd have to come back to check the thickness of the panel. I took the opportunity to explain that I'd been billed for the work done on a neighbor's garage, to which he replied, "You know what: you're so worried about a $95 charge-- why don't you find someone else to do the job and I'll throw away the bill." He also mentioned that he works on big industrial garage installations and that I wasn't worth the time it took to deal with me. So heads-up, folks. Christy's might do a great job for you.
