After speaking with them today, they have advised us that since my husband reconnected the bar so the door would open, that makes the warranty void. She said it was an outsider fixing the door. We had no choice. I called and called and called. No one got back to us, and we needed to get our car out. We were unaware that when we bought the garage door from Home Depot that they only sell it to you, they purchase from Clopay and subcontract to Buy Rite to install, so you deal with three separate vendors, and no one takes responsibility. If we would have read the reviews on the companies, we would have never purchased through Home Depot. This has been a ordeal since May 15,2026. If you buy garage doors at Home Depot this is their contractor. They came and did a site survey. Then came back to install the door. Once the doors were in the installer had to leave to go to another job without hooking up my garage door openers. There was a break in one of the wires for the sensors I pointed out to him but he ignored me. He said someone would call me to have another installer come out to finish the job. 2 days later when nobody called me, I called them. The lady that answered the phone put me on hold and came back and said my garage door openers were too old and they won't do it. My garage door openers are 2 years old. Never during the site survey or the install did anyone say they were too old. When I explained this the woman on the phone said someone would be in touch with me and that Home Depot would have to issue a refund for that part of the install. This was news to Home Depot when I called them to inquire as the job was never completed in their system. Needless to say this company is trash. As an aside it took me about 30 minutes on a Saturday to finish the job myself. ​ read more

Very unprofessional, The lady on the phone is very rude and a liar! She asked me to send in pictures of the project, which I did, and a month later, she called me to set up a date to come to my house and measure. I told her, that I sent in pictures already, which she said she never got. At this point the conversation got heated, and she got really rude to me. I didn't hold back. Possibly the worse experience with a Home Depot contractor, these klowns deserve -5 star rating Garage doors, right out of the gate unprofessional crew attempted to pawn off used/damaged door panels as new, had to call them out on this. Next they incorrectly "assemble" (these klowns are not "installers") and door does not open all way, the older guy that could barely speak English attempted to advise "this ok, this ok" My reply, "No, sorry, its not ok, not here or in any universe and your not leaving until you fix this." They had to come back 3x to get the job close to complete. Complained to home cheapo, they could care less, they had my $$ and there attitude was go pound sand. 2 mistakes made and lessons learned... 1. Dont trust Home Cheapo contractors, they use lowest bidder and could care less about quality work, its all about $$ 2. Buy-rite from Manville is perfect example of Klown Kollege, unskilled minimum wage help, unprofessional and quite possibly the worse company to deal with ever. The service was unreliable, the communication was poor, and the quality of work left me questioning whether they had any standards at all. They showed up on time, asked my opinion on where I wanted the decorative hardware and when they finished, they left the garage and area outside neat and clean. Great install of new garage doors. A very professional installation job even on a very hot and humid day. Jimmy and Tom did an amazing job of removing the old doors and installing new rails, springs, weather-stripping, etc.. It really looks amazing and truly improves the curb appeal of the entire house. Nick also simultaneously capped the sides around he garage doors with expert craftsmanship. Please do not use this company. They are rude and have no idea how to install a door on a old garage, They only will work on new garages. Worst service ever. I would not recommend them at all, especially if you are buying garage doors through Home Depot. If you do buy your doors through Home Depot, use a different installer that knows what they are doing. The customer service is horrible and they are very rude. They are not customer friendly at all. Also, if the project is too hard, they will not do it and lie to Home Depot and Clopay to get out of installing the garage doors. They only want easy. We ordered garage doors through Home Depot and wanted them installed. We ordered the doors and everything was set up. Then the nightmare began and it started in March of 2018 and finally ended in February, 2019. First, there was no appointment made to come measure. I was pulling into my driveway and 2 men, not identifiable, were walking up my driveway. They finally told me they were from Buy-Rite to do measurements and they could do all the measurements outside, which I was very happy about because we were not expecting them and the inside of the garage was a mess. Then they wanted to take measurements inside which they could not accurately do because there was a mess in the way to accurately measure. They said they couldn't come back and indicated what we ordered was not something they could install correctly because it was going to take time, and because they could not accurately measure, said we didn't have enough room. Which was a lie. This company does not care about time on the customer end, only their end. Since the project was more than what they wanted to handle, they lied to Clopay and Home Depot and gave them false measurements and information. After speaking with all parties, they finally agreed to do the installation but they insisted that we could not use the motors we wanted. So we cancelled the motors and they were only going to do the easy installation with no motors but still have torsion springs installed. Well, the day of the installation came and the incorrect springs were brought and the doors could not be installed. After speaking with Home Depot, Buy-Rite explained to them that they would not install the torsion springs because according to their measures there was not enough room. Again, another lie. We had enough room as we ordered the low headroom torsion springs but Buy-Rite indicated they would not fit. Again, another lie. They ordered the springs they wanted to use since it was easiest on their installation folks. So after another conversation with Home Depot and Buy-Rite, we cancelled the installation because at this point, since they refused to install what we wanted because of lies and incorrect measurements on their part. We decided to just get the garage doors and the torsion springs we wanted and install them ourselves. However, again we had to wait because they now had to order us the torsion springs that we wanted and originally ordered. After months of waiting they were finally received by the installers and again the rude customer service took place. The lady who answers the phone is not customer service friendly at all, she was very rude, and again they would not agree upon a time that would work for us. So we had to have the doors and the hardware delivered to Home Depot. When we went to Home Depot, we noticed 2 panels missing. We were supposed to receive a total of 8 panels and only 6 were delivered and hardware items were missing. So again we wait because now Buy-Rite could not locate what we were missing and they had to be ordered. After another couple of months the items were delivered again to Home Depot so we can pick them up, however, since there were so many issues, Home Depot delivered the items to us. After the items were delivered, we were given time to review what was delivered and noticed more hardware missing. Home Depot did order and replace all of the missing hardware. Since Buy-Rite, lied and refused to install our garage doors, my husband had to do the installation. After taking the panels completely out of the box, he noticed one was damaged. So again, another phone call to Home Depot and after weeks of waiting Home Depot was able to get the replacement but it had to be delivered to Buy-Rite. Another nightmare, we received a call from the lady at Buy-Rite who indicated they could deliver the panel on Tuesday of the next week, I informed her I couldn't but Wednesday afternoon was better. She again insisted that they can only deliver to us in the mornings and refused to work with me and said I should have a neighbor sign for my panel. So again another phone call to Home Depot, led to Buy-Rite once again lying, indicating that I refused to work with them for delivery, when I explained to Home Depot I didn't, they only gave me two options that would not work and then I would have to wait another week. After, speaking with Home Depot the panel was finally delivered timely and they were finally installed by my husband and they look amazing. read more

I've called for repairs and today got new doors. They've been at my house quickly to save the day when we pulled into a door (teens) for a temporary fix, and gave great pricing and great service on the new ones. Hope I don't need new doors or service again soon, but if you do, I recommend calling Buy-Rite. Nick seems very focused on my satisfaction, even running a business where there's not naturally a lot of return customers on a regular business. HORRIBLE!!!! the woman who answers the phone there, Michelle, is absolutely rude and incompetent. They flubbed our appointment multiple times, then denied the whole thing... Third time using them. First 2 times no problem. This time they gave me an install date on a Wednesday and never showed, never called. I had to call and follow up, they told me door was out of stock and that they would be back the following Wednesday. Michelle (woman who answers their phone) apologized for not calling. They came back the following Wednesday and I notice they are not taking the old doors and debris. I call and ask why, Michelle tells me "Oh no I didn't price that in. I gave you a great price we need to charge extra for removal". I told her she must be kidding. What about the week I had to wait for them after they didn't show? Also she never asked me if I needed removal or not. Who wants old heavy garage door panels left on their property? She starts talking over me and being rude, not listening to me at all when I explain I am a third time customer and if they came on time last week my contractors dumpster still would have been in the driveway. She couldn't of cared less about what I was telling her. She told me "Fine we'll take the debris, give me your credit card number I want my money!" They ended up taking the debris as I requested BUT they lost me as a customer for good! I have another door that will need to be done next week ... I know who I WON'T be calling! Our new home needed a face lift so we started with the garage doors. I went to Home Depot and then received a call from Buy Rite to schedule an appointment. The rep came out and showed my wife and I a bunch of doors to choose from. We picked our doors and within a couple of days I got a call from the office to schedule the installation.
