Place was like a meat market assembly line. No or conflicting answers to questions from different people. Had me fill a costly pre-cataract eye drop prescription prior to surgery, only to tell me I couldn't use it because of mediation allergies (which I previously reported at first meeting and mentioned afterwards) so I was stuck with a bill for a useless medication. Then they reported to Medicare that they performed surgery on my left eye, when they had done so on my right eye, so I had to prove to Medicare to change the file to avoid rejection when my left eye finally got done (which I later had done elsewhere). Staff and Surgeon didn't communicate with each other and when they did, they gave opposing answers. All they wanted was to move me through so they could get their money from my insurance. Very unprofessional experience at the Bergenfield office. Before the appointment, a staff member called to verify insurance while I was at work. I told her I'd call back, but she insisted I handle it immediately, saying she "didn't have time" and wouldn't be available later -- completely ignoring that I was working. On the day of the appointment, we waited over an hour past our scheduled time with no update. When we asked, the front desk was rude and dismissive. The positive: - The doctors and staff I encountered were great and helpful *in person*. I went in for a routine eye exam and everyone was thorough, and able address concerns on the spot. - there is a big parking lot across the street so that's easy considering the difficulties of street parking on a busy day - I had a long wait for my appointment (arrived at 2:20 and didn't leave until 3:40) but I'd say that's a neutral complaint for me and not necessarily anyone's fault. The negative: - whoever answers the phone (in multiple phone calls) did not let me finish my sentences. This is relevant because if i was able to just ask my full questions, I probably wouldn't have needed to come in for an exam at all. - I've called back post-visit to ask a couple questions about purchasing lenses and got transferred 3-4 times with little clarity. From the minute you walk in you know you made a big mistake. The women who work at the front desk are the most miserable group I have ever encountered. None of them, usually two or three at a time will not crack a smile as you approach the desk. There is no welcome, just, what's your name, SO UNPLEASANT. They should all be fired. Worst office ever. GAVE IT A ONE BECAUSE NOTHING LOWER. Never did we wait less then 90 minutes for our scheduled appointment. We went for a consultation on cataracts for my husband but also bumps on his cornea. When we met with the doctor he said he could treat the bumps with a scraping or possibly use a laser, and the cataracts would be done two to three weeks apart. He wanted to do the cataracts first . He told us my husbands vision would be great. Next, go see schedule nurse who was the ultimate ARM twister. Now for additional $3000, you get the better lens . Md never said he needed a better lens. We with the regular lens. Day of surgery, assembly line. 20 people all having it at the same time, minutes apart. Made us feel" really wired" . No one wants to feel likes number. After both eyes were done and six months later we asked about the cornea bumps. Md said to go upstairs where my husband was told" what are you doing here, I cannot do that" I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACTORY STYLE OFFICE EVER. The Medical assistants were possibly the rudest group we have ever encountered. The front desk and doctor were fine but based on how rude the medical assistant was I will NOT return. Working in the medical field myself, I would never allow these rude women to ever handle my patients and families the way they did. We waited in the room while they came in and out without even acknowledging our presence. If you can find another place, please do. I went in to check for potential detached retina because I have high myopia and it was close to me. Not only was it an unacceptably long and unexplained wait way past my appointment time, but also an unpleasant experience talking to staff after the visit. The doctor was competent and they seem to have up to date machinery, but that should be table stakes. Most disturbing is that the bill was unexpectedly and unreasonably high because of the numerous unrecognized items they added to the bill. I tried to understand why, but the billing department just repeated some technical explanations and wouldn't remove services that weren't performed. I don't believe in doing business with untrustworthy business and so I wouldn't recommend going here to any friend. read more

I will never come back here. I had the worst experience of my life. I went in to go purchase glasses the other day and the blonde lady who was helping me was SO RUDE. I did not catch her name and frankly i do not care at this point. She proceeded by showing me around after i told her what my budget was and of course she goes to all the designer glasses. I told her i wasn't intrested in something so expensive but she continued to push me. After a while of me telling her i didn't want any expensive glasses her whole attitude changed and she started treating me so disrespectfully as if my business was not relevant anymore. So my appointment was made using a service the New Jersey Eye Center uses to list themselves on. I get there and they don't have my appointment and they are booked for the whole day. My friend has also experienced the same thing with them and it is not good customer service. If that service they are using is not working properly and patients are being impacted then do something about it. Don't just act like it's a small thing and laugh it off. Had scar tissue build up behind my implant. Dr Parisi did a great job of using laser (YAG) to correct the problem. Thought the issue would be much more serious. I was out of the office in less than 1 hour and zero recovery time. The next day my vision was back to better than normal !! read more

I visited the New Jersey Eye Center for a comprehensive eye exam - my first ever- and felt so happy after the fact. Dr. Bauza walked me through the examination, talked to me about my dry eyes, recommended best practices to take care of my eyes, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time - I'm very sensitive to any touching of my eyes. On August 9, I visited NJ Eye Care. Before filling form I asked, how much do I have to pay. and I showed my Medicare Card. Receptionist told me nothing.Only then I got my first appointment for next day. Eye got checked and pressure was normal. After some time I got bill for $71.23. I went there and asked, when girl told me I have to pay nothing then why I got this bill? . Lady from accounting department came and told me you have to pay. She even did not care to inquire the matter with receptionist (she was not present). This shows pure business approach. This kind of treatment really hurts. How anyone can expect to- visit again? I had to wait over an hour to be seen for my appointment when I arrived early as requested. This is completely unprofessional and I will not be returning. I have been a patient here for over 5 years. I walked in to look at glasses before my next appointment And I have never had one single complaint about the staff. Facilities, or Doctors. However I had make a yelp account just to tell you all what disgusting behavior I witnessed in this building yesterday afternoon. Dr. Dello Russo is wonderful, but the billing woman is rude and obnoxious. Good luck if you need questions answered, you would think it's a dental office because it's like pulling teeth. There is a way to be professional and resolve situations that are out of the ordinary - but Dr. Dello Russo's girl apparently doesn't think so.
