PSA to all parents who have (1) neurodivergent children and/or (2) children who have medical necessities, stay far away from New Life in Artesia/Cerritos. Please also look the 1 & 2 star reviews for New Life Community Church under Yelp (some of which dates to over 6-15 years ago, which means this congregation/administration at New Life is complicit). They're unequipped to provide adequate care for your children nor keep your children safe. The head of the children's ministry, Tina Tribolet, who oversees New Life Preschool and their summer program Connecting Kids, is beyond rude as an educator and quite frankly shame on New Life for allowing her position as the children's pastor. Tina Tribolet removed my neurodivergent child from attending New Life under the pretense and I quote her verbatim that New Life is "not able to provide aid for such mental retardation." This statement from her left me in complete horror and shock. It worries me deeply that New Life has appointed a person that would make such a statement as the children's pastor and head of the children's ministry. (1) To parents with neurodivergent children, do not let Tina Tribolet groom you or your children into thinking your children is a problem that they're not. Her staff is uneducated and unequipped to guide your children with empathy and will isolate them as problematic. The children's ministry that oversees New Life Preschool and Connecting Kids does not allow for diversity and inclusion as they claim on the New Life website. I also question the credibility of Tina Tribolet in general as her staff Miss Luna left me a voicemail 2 hours prior to our conversation that completely contradicts her accusations towards my child. In the voicemail, Miss Luna stated my child was doing great that day with much improvement. Interestingly enough, I receive a call a bit later from Tina making wild accusations and that my child is no longer welcomed at New Life. It was during this conversation that Tina stated New Life no longer receives funding for my child's "mental retardation." Parents, I urge you to not subject your children to the scrutiny of her questionable ethics and practices. (2) To parents with children with medical conditions, there is a huge gap in staff to student ratio. Which needs to be brought to attention as they have one of the bigger facilities and play area in the nearby cities. Moreover, the staff that actually watches and interacts with the children are very young themselves. The staff evidently lacks teaching experience and leadership skills, which are both crucial to make fair judgement and compassionate support for our children. During bubble/water play day, my child bumped into another child as he caught bubbles/soap in his eyes and could not see. The other child, who has a history of seizures, ultimately fell and hit his head. From my conversation with Miss Taylor Harrison the day after, I want to make it very clear that there was no staff that actually witnessed this NOR was nearby to help the children. As a result, Miss Taylor scapegoated my child in what it seems as an attempt to avoid liability. My child said non of the staff questioned or even attempted to ask him what happened, and immediately pointed fingers at my child and punished him for their inability to maintain a controlled environment. After leaving New Life, my child was enrolled in a different facility right away and I received no complaints. The educator that runs the new facility said she had no idea what Tina Tribolet was talking about in regard to my child's behavior. Apparently New Life has a running reputation for how young and untrained their staff is. I have been meeting moms after moms that have had similar experiences with Tina Tribolet and cannot believe her rudeness and absolute audacity. I wish I knew about this before enrolling my child into New Life and I hope no other children come close to how badly Tina Tribolet made me, my child, and all other parents/children I've spoken to felt. read more

I have two kids--one in the 4-year-old class with Ms. Bee and the other in the 3-year-old class with Ms. Stacey. The school is ideal for preschool, with the best management under Ms. Bailey. All the staff are incredibly nice and warm. The curriculum is engaging, encouraging the kids to enjoy learning and look forward to going to school every day. read more

Our teacher friends in the Cerritos area strongly recommended New Life as the best in the area. We checked out several other places and first off, New Life is comparatively inexpensive. The staff invited us to visit and showed us around during a typical school day. So, I made the inevitable trek to the school in the wee hours of the morning on registration day (some people had literally camped out in the parking lot to get a spot) and, after arriving at 4:30AM for a 7AM registration, got our son into the 3-year old preschool class for the 2011-2012 school year. We've been quite pleased. The staff is quite loving and you can tell they genuinely care about the kids. They encourage respect and following rules, etc. but there is always a very tangible sense of affection and kindness that they show the kids- and they encourage kids to do the same. Our son has really come along socially (which was our primary objective, along with things like learning to color in lines and cut with scissors.) This is not so much an academically-oriented preschool in terms of getting your kids ready to take the SAT by age 5, and we like the emphasis on hands-on, artistic (music, art projects, etc.) and physical play time as well. We're not particularly religious but, it's "Christian lite", you know, coloring pictures of angels, a bit of bible stories, nothing too in-your-face. We appreciate the fact that our son knows that Jesus died on cross on Good Friday but on Easter Sunday, the Easter Bunny comes. And that Christmas Day celebrates the birth of Santa. It's been a very positive experience and our son has definitely enjoyed his time, making friends and becoming much more confident/mature. Highly recommended. read more

As an educator, it saddens me to see that a daycare is run by such apathetic administrators such as Mandi and Tina. I wish I would have known this prior to signing my child up at this daycare. The staff themselves are great but with poor administration it is unreasonable to think any child could have a good experience here. As a parent of the preschool for the last few years I'm so happy my son has the ability to be educated in such an incredible environment. the staff is loving and they really care about my son. I'm blessed that his preschool experience has been great. Mrs. Gaines was his 2 year old teacher and I have always felt confident with leaving my little one with her. He loved her just as much as she loved all the kids. Ms. burtle is such a compassionate teacher. She is always working with my son with his social skills and teaching him so much. New life seems very established and structured. That's because they are! Right down to the toddlers fresh lunches to the person that greets you at the front desk. The admin shows professionalism and genuine care and the teachers are very thoughtful and communicative. You can tell that each child is shown great TLC. My daughter has grown spiritually, socially, and academically. Such a great place for your little ones to grow. I highly recommend. read more

I currently have my second child enrolled in preschool here. Both my children have learned so much from New Life. The preschool is very well structured and both my children enjoy attending. I have also used New Life Connecting Kids program for after school care as well as their Summer Camp program, both are excellent programs. I am happy to of found New Life to take care of my children. Excellent kind caregivers, and strong academic educators. My son is only 2, he knows all his letters, numbers 1-10 (by name and by how much each number represents), shapes, colors, and how to spell his name. I did not teach him this. Yes, he picks up things very fast, but still they had to be taught. They have great family activities now and then. The teacher sends us e-mails of special activities they do, and pictures of what they are learning that week. Where else do you get this kind of care? -NO WHERE, that's where! If you want to get your kid in, call in and ask when enrollment starts. My husband was there the first day of enrollment, at 5am, and there was already a line! That's how good they are. They are a Christian daycare but you do not have to be christian, they are very respectful of all faiths. For that reason they can not receive Welfare vouchers (I don't know what they are called exactly), you must pay out of your own pocket, which is good-TRUST ME!! read more
