They have great family activities like a costume parade for Halloween, Thanksgiving feast all family is invited for, Christmas show put on by the kids. They even allowed us to have spiderman visit the kids for our sons birthday. Ms Robin works really hard to make sure the school is a great environment for the children. I'm so glad I found her and Calvary Cross Chapel Preschool.

What I love most about this program is the opportunity for the parents to get involved and to get to know other families and parents in the community. I hear from other parents who don't have access to a tot lot that they feel disconnected from their kids learning, don't know who their friends are, never get to know the parents, and feel like a passive participant, but this program is a real unique opportunity to connect with your child and actively be a part of their school experience. I really enjoy the monthly field trips that parents get to attend (sometimes with siblings) and the many many festive parties and celebration! Half of the summer fee was $725 which I paid 2 weeks prior to the program start date. My 6 year old daughter came home every day telling me how the "teachers" yell at the kids and say things such as "deal with it", and "that's not my problem". Now I don't even speak to my child that way. Another incident was my daughter told me that one of the "teachers" grabbed her arm and told her to throw her trash away. Totally unacceptable. How about I grab one of them?! Though they were fully staffed, they staff all seemed very young and inexperienced. Each day I went to pick up my daughter, I could never find her. The staff did not know who she was (mind you she was probably one of the few children there without a chinese last name- and my daughter is half chinese). The posted "schedule" was never correct so it would usually take me 10 minutes or so to locate my child. I was frazzled each time thinking she was kidnapped or lost (the facility is located at a church which is wide open to the parking lot and a main street). After dealing with the director and her assistant, I was even more displeased at how unprofessional and uncaring they were about the situation when I explained why we were leaving. They basically did not care and their attitude proved it. If you read my other reviews, you'll see that I mostly post when I'm happy, but seeing that nobody else commented about this place I feel like I would be doing a disservice by not sharing my bad experience. This place is a church hosting a summer program. Don't let it fool you.

My kids have been attending FECC since age 3 and here is like their second home now, with caring and dedicated teachers at all class levels providing structured playing and learning activities such that they were well-prepped for kindergarten/1st grade when they graduated! During covid they are also one of the few places that enforces strict masking policy at all times, class size limit and routine sanitization so we feel more reassured sending our kids there. Thanks to FECC Children Academy that my kids are still able to enjoy school life despite the pandemic :)

The teachers are all very kind and loving and work with you to address your child's individual needs. Mrs. Luyben and the school leadership anre also excellent at communicating about special days, activities, school needs, and new experiences for the kids. The school offers fun after school activity days at least 2x each month, and they celebrate most holidays in creative ways. I have also been really impressed with the quality of the art projects, playtime, and learning of basic letters, numbers, and shapes. I also want to note that, even though it is a Christian preschool and associated with the LVCC church, and we are non-Christians (but people of faith), I never felt pressure nor excessive Christian messaging. There was always a nice respectful balance of lovely Bible quotes and prayers, while respecting that our family was not Christian. The faith-based preschool is really expressed in their love and honoring of the sacredness of childhood. Which I love! I am grateful that LVCC Preschool was my kids' first experience with school! My son loves going to school and loves the teachers, all of them. The director, Mrs. Szalene is amazing. My son had a little separation anxiety the first two weeks and she assured me he would get over it, and he did! Everyone there is super friendly and most importantly, I feel my son is SAFE and in a SAFE environment. The Tuition is very affordable and they are open from 6am-6pm which is accommodating for me and my work schedule. If you are interested, I would highly recommend them, it is at a Christian church, so if you aren't into religion, this wouldn't be a good choice for obvious reason. Soon, my son was liking school and having fun. We are most impressed with the curriculum and the head start that it gave him. Our son was learning his ABC's and how to write the alphabet. They were also reading to the class and getting the kids into books. Our son is now 5-1/2 and we just had our first Kindergarten Parent/Teacher conference a couple of days ago. We were so happy to hear that the teacher was very impressed with the knowledge he had already! His first assessment results indicate that he has already mastered his ABC's and writing skills expectations for the year! His reading assessment reveals that he is one of the top 5 in his class.
