Got the bright idea to gift a friend a sheet of a themed stamp. Didn't think about it's size. Looking on Amazon and elsewhere I could not find a frame with a mat that would fit 8" x 7.25 ". Had used these folks before and with it being small business Saturday I made an appointment. He was pleasant, explained my options and we agreed on color and size. My beloved grandfather was a very talented artist, and my family is lucky enough to have a small collection of his massive paintings. My dad came to New Method about 20 years ago to frame one of my grandfathers paintings, and now that I have a home of my own, I wanted to put one of my grandfathers paintings up, and my dad referred me to New Method. The paintings are about 40x85 inches, and so I thought that I was going to spend a fortune. After reading some Yelp reviews about this place, I felt that I could already trust William before I even met him. I'm so glad that I brought my grandfathers painting here to frame, because William is friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and a true master at his art. I feel like I got the royal treatment for half the cost that I expected to pay. He helped me choose the best color and size frame for the painting, gave me pointers on how high to hang it, had the framing done when he promised, and even helped me load it onto the truck. I came in randomly once to fix a broken glass frame. I needed the glass replaced, and they charged me only $10! I could have easily gotten charged twice the price somewhere else because it was a custom cut. In addition, Kit (the wife) called her husband in to cut the glass for me within the hour! I dropped off the frame, went shopping, and they called me to let me know it was ready within an hour after i dropped it off. The owners of the shop are a Chinese husband and wife, and they are very adamant about keeping customers happy and are surprisingly honest people who don't just want to take your money. I was very pleased. I was so satisfied with the service that I came back another time to frame a caricature poster. I was in a hurry and needed it framed asap b/c it was a gift I was giving to my boyfriend for the coming up weekend. Kit told me that it would take about a week, but given the circumstances she made an exception. They got the job done the next day! When I got it, the work was flawless. Recently I made a couple of oil paintings. I needed them framed but didn't really have any experience with it. So I shopped around to compare prices and learn the basics of framing, matting, etc. I have to admit, you have to know what you want, b/c they are a little limited with their opinions. I received awesome feedback from other stores who knew how to make masterpieces out of your work, but I came here to get the job done because they charged me literally half the price. I came to New Method Picture Framing Co. after getting quotes from Michael's and some other specialty framing stores in Pasadena. I have a 55"x22" tapestry I needed to frame. At Michael's, even after using a 60% off coupon, the price came out to be ~$330. Here, it was only $150. Why the difference in price? - New Method took 2 weeks to frame - They use posterboard instead of something sturdier for the backing... I tried lifting the framed tapestry from one end and I could see the other side bending, lol. - The "glass" is very thin and also bends... might be plastic? - The end product does not enhance the original tapestry... but that may due to the thin frame chosen All in all, I think you get what you pay for when it comes to frames. However, I usually find myself balking at the ridiculous prices because my items to be framed are not as expensive as the cost of framing. New Method is cost efficient and is worth considering if you have something not of tremendous value that needs to be framed. read more

The first one he told me it wasn't worth it for me to frame, that i should just go to michaels or sears and buy a frame from them for cheaper. Now thats honesty! the second picture was a custom 10 x 46. I had looked online and it cost 170 something to frame. ouch. William only charged me 105. When i came back to pick it up, he said he didn't need to mount it and deducted the price by 10 bucks. I sense he is a honest business man and his prices are really good. I broke my small lovely oval shape handmade glass framed art piece on last Friday 9/26. I was really hoping to find a frame shop who could help to replace the broken frame. On Saturday 9/27 my husband drove me to this shop. The owner William very patiently explained to us that he did not have the tool to cut an oval shape glass but suggested that we could try the window company two blocks away. They might be able to help. He even cut a small piece of glass to make sure in case the window store didn't have the thin kind of glass which he didn't have to do that. We felt so appreciative of his kindness. After visited the Milgard window store two blocks away, 10 minutes later my broken frame was replaced! It's now hanging on my bathroom wall nicely. Great small business apparently run by husband and wife. I got a painting I bought off craigslist reframed here. I chose a new frame and mat board and they did an excellent job. Customer service is excellent here, plus they speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. When I came to pick up my reframed painting I asked for the old frame back (I had not previously indicated I wanted it back). The gentleman helping me said that he had to ask his wife where it is. I knew I'd be in the area again in a couple weeks so it was no problem for me, plus I hadn't told them before that I had wanted to keep the old frame. He called me about 2 minutes later telling me he talked to his wife and had the old frame ready for me. I hadn't gotten very far so I just turned back. The gentleman came out of the store and handed me the frame so I didn't have to get out of my car. They are so friendly here, I will definitely come back the next time I need something custom framed. read more

Firt time coming here it cost me $38 dollars for a 12x18 to frame a custom pic fits great decent material to me a bit expensive but think in the long run is worth the extra cash ... Didn't shop around but from what I hear is good price also got 3 16x14 for $78 each but was told need some kind of process because its size so it won't have bubbles read more
